Dom, I do agree w/ you. Although I would love to lose weight fast, I've been trying to get in my 6 meals a day and have a ratio of about 40/40/20 for my protein, carbs, and fats. Where in Socal are you? I'm hoping to lose about 12% bf. I hope you don't mind if you get a PM from me every now and then asking a dieting question ![]()

Ground turkey coupled w/ tofu and some mapo tofu sauce. Easy dinner and you can add rice if you want. Lettuce wraps. You can use any variety of ground meat. Mix w/ sliced/diced mushrooms, corn (kernels or baby corn, up to you), diced/minced carrots, and hoisin oyster sauce in a pan. Cook until meat is brown. Put into lettuce leaf shell..and you're done. Like I said, it isn't hard. It's the implementation that is hard. Healthy food isn't always as convenient as a frozen dinner. But if you prepare ahead of time...it makes it easier. | |

| ![]() If you're tired of eggs why not a meat and cheese roll-up or you can have a bowl of cottage cheese...sprinkle a little cinnamon on the top and have a couple crackers on the side and you're all set. Also, make omelets or a Quiche...then you can add other ingredients and it won't be just eggs. You can also take lo-carb tortillas and make a breakfast wrap...I made one the other day with turkey, crumbled bacon, cheese and canned tomatoes...I made a chipotle sauce to go on top and it was really good. You can add salsa to your omelets or scrambled eggs, you can also buy the frozen egg patties and the maple sausage patties...heat them in the microwave and put a piece of cheese on the top. There are a lot of things you can do with eggs besides just fry and scramble them to break up the boredom. I've lost a total of 10 pounds now...after my next 10 I'm going to make home made French Toast with lots of butter, my eggs over medium between the slices and some thick maple syrup over the top with crispy bacon on the side. My girls used to call that "Mom's country lovin'!"...it was their favorite breakfast. Hmmm...maybe I'll go get some lo-carb wheat bread, sugar free maple syrup and make that for supper tonight! |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | ![]() Hubby and I were talking about switching from low carb to just plain ole eating better. Like no fast food, fries, fats, ect.... We were going to do the 2 weeks of the low carb than switch. We both decided we'd rather eat better than eat what we are. We both miss cereal, rice, oatmeal...stuff like that real bad! Will we still lose weight? I only really want to lose maybe 10 more pounds. Today is day 10 for me and 5 pounds smaller ![]() I have a hard boiled egg sitting here on my desk and every time I look at it, I think I'm going to puke ! |

| ![]() 20 carbs a day is for the induction phase and if you read the Atkins book the induction phase does include Quiche. I love broccoli and cheese omelets with a side of bacon for breakfast. The cottage cheese and cinnamon is in the book too but they also include flax seed but make sure you use ground flax seeds and not whole ones. You can snack on beef sticks, deviled eggs, celery sticks with Laughing Cow cheese on top, sliced meat rolled up with swiss cheese and I love BBQ pork rinds for something crunchy, you can also have sliced cheese and salami. You don't have to deprive yourself while on a lo-carb diet...I eat very well and it's fun to plan my next meal. Just count your carbs and be creative! |

| ![]() Breny, I don't think you're eating enough and you will definitely feel better if you make time to eat breakfast...you just can't skip breakfast! That's the real treat with a lo-carb diet...you can eat alot of food and still lose weight so don't go without. As for your lunch, make the chicken breast into chicken salad, there's a recipe for a very good one in the book, put it over some chopped Romaine lettuce, add a few cherry tomatoes and some shredded cheese along with a little Bleu Cheese dressing and pepper and have a couple lo-carb wheat crackers. You can buy packages of almonds in the veggie section at Wal-Mart that are made for salad toppings...they're very lo-carb and they add a little sweetness to your salad. I eat a lot of salads for lunch with tuna salad or chicken salad mixed in. I also drink sweet tea made with Splenda. You shouldn't eat any grains until you're through the induction phase...you can add those things in later. Quote:

| ![]() Look in the section of the grocery store where the canned tuna is. You can buy vacume packed bags of salmon and tuna there and it's ready to eat and a lot cheaper than the fresh or frozen from the meat department. I haven't tried it yet but I will get some the next time I shop. Quote:
