I know it's not acceptable for a boy to be sneaking into the house at that hour, but there could have been a very good reason why. Do you know his mother? Maybe things are really awful at home and he had to get away right then, and your house was the only place he had to go? I'd hold off on telling his mother until you find out more. She might be the reason he was out that late

| as the step monther of a 16 year old girl and 14 year old boy and the mother of a 13 year old boy and an 11 and 3.5 year old girls. I have to say in my house it would be longer than 2 months. I am sorry if some of think that is harsh but sneaking a boy in is a major thing. Just because there were two girls there doesn't mean it was anything innocent or a prank! I have heard what the girls at the local high schools do. at my step kids house or at ours they would get the same punishment and that would be doing nothing but go to school and come home for two months minimum. Then after that we could work on getting back cell phone, computer, tv , and friends. Will they be happy with us? No! Do I care, no. I only care that I do everything in my power to make sure they do not get pregnant, raped, or anything else. I can not believe how easy some of you would be on your kids, breaking trust is a huge issue and should be dealt with as such. As for the friend and the boy, parents would be notified and my daughter wouldn't be allowed around them anymore, period! We firmly believe that while we are strict our children are very well adjusted , have a great social life, and are good kids. |

| Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Well.....I was not a strict mom and am super proud of my sons - the thing is - there WERE 2 girls in the room - it's a bit different than if it was just the daughter and this is all part of growing up - it would be alot different if they stole a car or something ....but sneaking boys into your room or house is part of being a teenager ...at least when I was a kid it was I still can't get over his response - that was a classic and I swear if I had heard a kid say that I'd have had a very hard time keeping a straight face he sounds like he's been thru alot though and you're right to tell his mom too - |

Have you talked to teenagers today? Just because there were 2 girls in the room doesn't mean anything now a day! Our local town square was shut down to teenagers as the weekend 'hangout' because they were leaving used condoms and such behind!! Seems that now a day, doesn't matter if there are 2 people or 5 people involved or at least watching! Times have changed and kids aren't as innocent as they used to be. I do agree that this incident could have been completely innocent and harmless, but I would still have to pose some type of major punishment just for the fact that he snuck in the house at 2am in the morning......if it was an innocent 'I need to talk to you girls about a major problem I am having"...then why not just call! If my kids every came to me at 2 in the morning with this question of helping a friend, I would say, sure, use the Living room! Just my opinion though.....you do know you daughter better than any of us. Sorry to have posted twice, but this has bothered me since I read it. Good Luck | |

| OMG>.... I just read your post. I about died. lol I bet that boy was freaked out. I would have love to seen the look on all there faces. You are right... The fun is just beginning. I really dont look forward to Lauryn growing up. lol I remember in 8th grade I had a friend over and My mom and Dad weren't going to be home for hours. So we thought it was cool to invite boys over...(totally harmless) I have always been told when mom and dad are not home...No boys allowed in the house. Well here we are watching a movie, boys are laying on the couch, the floor, etc. (We weren't doing anything wrong)... But all of a sudden my parents car pulled up outside... The boys took off out the back door. Later that day my dad went to go out the back door and said... where is the door knob??? I was like what???? I have no clue... Well.........He found it out in the yard...lol One of those poor boys must have been so scared that the pulled the door knob right off and got scared and threw it. I just played dumb... I finally told him what happend to that door knob years and years later. lol lol |

| I think some of you are being too easy on her! 2 weeks, 1 week no phone or anything, and the 2nd week phone yes. NO COMPUTER for the full 2 weeks I'm 18, and gosh what I was doing when I was 16 so be careful what you let her do, I don't want her to be crazy!! to be honest, being too strict wont make your daughter make bad choices but letting her be wild will!! Be strict!!! but I have to be honest I laughed when I heard this!!! |

| I'm sorry .... but, oh, the "flashbacks"!! You have already received some awfully good suggestions. My son about drove me bonkers when he was a teenager, but that's another story! The really nice thing was to hear him tell me recently, "Mom, I now know what paying for your raising means"!!! Being the father of a 17 year old girl, he's getting lots of grey hairs! When his wife calls me to discuss Kayla's "infractions" ... my solution is always, "if I were you, I would just throw her on a plane & send her to Nonnie & Papa .... that will straighten her out!!!" Sadly, she always says, "Yeah, sure!" Seriously, good luck!! I don't envy you at all!

| BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | Lord, the things I did when I was a teen! I think thats why I'm so strict with her, I say she is still attached to the ambilicord (sp) lol She kept saying all weekend how dumb she is and she knew better, she kept telling her friend, "were going to get caught" she said she told the kid to stay outside, but he per-swayed her to let him come in. She said he was throwing himself on both girls, trying to get one of them to give it up. This kid needs some serious help, I still have not been able to get a hold of his parents. |
