| We met at work we both waited tables. That was 16 years ago. He loves Chachi and Jewels and spoils them more than I do

| When I was 19 I was at a new job, working at the deli counter of a specialty food store. One night, he came to the counter for something to eat, and we ended up talking for about 2 minutes. I remember he was so cute, and when we said goodbye, I watched him walk the whole way out the store- I immediately went to the back room, and told my friend who I worked with, and this is NO joke, that I just met the man I was going to marry...she thought I was joking- she asked me what his name was, and then it hit me- I didn't know his name or anything! Luckily, it turned out that he was the owner of the auto shop next door to my job. He came in the store very often after that, I knew he liked me when one day he came into the store 5 times and the last 3 times he didn't buy anything, he was just coming to talk to me! Well, that was 13 years ago- we're married and have 3 great kids together, and oh yes- our furbabies, Foster and our Yorkie Schatzi!

| My hubby and I had a class together in college. We had assigned seats so I really had a whole semester to get to know him. When the semester started, I was dating someone whom I had been with for 3 years. But, by the end of the semester, I had fallen in love with my then classmate, broke up with my bf, asked my classmate to a sorority date party. We've been together now for 4 years. We just celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary on August 6. |

| I am new here, but thought I would answer this...... My husband and I met when I started working as a vet tech. He was already a vet tech at the clinic. We both had significant others, but that changed pretty quick. We do not have a Yorkie yet, but I am hoping to get him one by his birthday in October. He is the Yorkie lover here. I have always liked bigger dogs. I have Golden Retrievers. But he loves Yorkies and wants a dog we can take with us everywhere. The Goldens are kinda hard to tote around! |

| My husband and I were both in Navy A school. My best friend Tiffany and I were walking out of the store and I saw a boy waving from the passenger side of the truck with a HUGE dorky smile. I didn't know who he was and my friend Tiffany talks to ALOT of guys (I'm more shy) so I pushed her and said, "That dude is waving at you." She said she didn't know him. She thought the guy driving the truck was cute though and after we dropped our stuff off in our barracks she had us rush down to go see if the truck was still driving around, which wasn't. I just had a boyfriend (we only dated a couple of weeks) who left the week before, we were as good as broken up because we weren't sure if we'd ever see each other again because he had new orders. So I was sad and not interested in talking to guys at all. That coming weekend we were bored. It was our first weekend there with NO plans. I had tried calling my friend in Chicago with a car, but that fell through because he had a date who didn't like him talking to me. So we were bored walking down the street on the base. Then across the street someone yelled, "Hey, you guys wanna go drinking?" We said, "What the heck, we didn't have any plans anyways." So we went across the street to the two boys, one being John and his friend. John tried to talk to me, but he was much taller than me 6'1'' and I'm 5'2" so he kept asking me to repeat myself. So I ended up talking more to the shorter guy while my best friend talked to John. Then we met up with more of his friends on the train. John played with the zipper on Tiffany's pants so I figured he liked her. I really didn't care, I was still kind of heartbroken from my last boyfriend. So we got off of the L train and walked around Chicago with all of these people. The other boy started acting really interested in me. But he got drunk and lame really quick and John told me the other guy had a gf. So we ended up walking through Chicago with a whole bunch of drunk people. John and I were the only ones sober so we called ourselves the babysitters and really got to know eachother. I guess being the only sober and mature ones made us bond. A whole bunch of the people with us ended up breaking off and going home on the train so they wouldn't get in trouble. We will NEVER forget one of the first things we talked about was our favorite chinese food which we said at the same time, "general tso's chicken." He was so funny and sweet. My friend Tiffany told me that he liked me and tried to get us together. Finally she made us sit down on some steps and take pictures, she told him to kiss me and he did. After that day I couldn't wait to see him again and since that day it's just been better and better. I met his mother and LOVED how sweet he was to her, he loved doing little things for her like taking in groceries or helping her out, even she said that he's the most helpful and thoughtful of all of her children. He has been the same with me through our whole marriage he loves doing things for me. He's a wonderful husband. Then I brought him to my nephews birthday party and my cousins had so much fun with him, they adored him as much as I did. He loved kids and I knew he would be a great father, which he is. I'm so sorry this got so long... he's underway with the ship in the navy so I'm really missing him. They are blocked from communicating with us over the email so I REALLY miss him. Oh, and the yorkie thing. He's not that crazy about her, but he told me I could pick out any dog I wanted. He still takes care of her and cleans up her messes, but he's not attached to her. I think it will take him time. After all, it took him two years to like the cat. But when he was a kid his dad used to get rid of animals he was attached to, so I think that's what his issue is. Anyways, thanks for listening. |

| We met at a BB@ labor day weekend 2004. He was interested in me then, and asked my brother about me, and when my brother told me I was like "hook it up" but he couldn't get his number. Then in like jan 05 we were always at the same places, and out with the same friends, and we both liked eachother, everyone joked about how we were going to get married, and eventually we became official. |

| [QUOTE=Meg]Okay this is kinda emberassing... We met the summer after highschool, hiking in the mountains, under the stars on a warm night (all together now-*aaahhh*). I was with some friends going to a campfire spot, he was with another group of friends already at that same campfire spot. When we got to the spot, some of the people I was with knew some of the people he was with, so our groups combined and we met ... Okay the emberassing part comes here... While we were hiking my girlfriend and I had gotten hot and took off our shirts and were in our bras when we made it to the campfire spot. So the first time my dh saw me I was wearing my bra!!!! He still teases me about it! (We dated for 2 years and have been married for 4)-- Attatched is a picture of us at a wedding a few months ago. Hahahaha Meg! Cute story! Great pic too! Francie |

| I met my boyfriend of 2 years and 7 months at a bowling alley, when I was 17. He came with a mutual friend. I saw my guy friend walking towards me with this HOTT guy with the most beautiful eyes, dimples and smile I have ever seen.I said hi to my friend and hugged him, and I said hi to him, and hugged him(I'm a very touchy feely person, I hug everyone, haha), and he kinda froze up and didn't hug me back. And I thought to myself "Man! This guy does not want me touching him at all!" Well he didn't talk to me for the rest of the night, and would barely crack a smile when I tried to talk to him, so I figured he didn't like me and left it at that. I was only 17, had no interest in dating, and had never seriously dated or liked anyone before. I didn't see hi again until 3-4 months later. 4 months later, I was having a little get together at my house, and when I opened the door, their he was standing their with another one of my guy friends . I was like, "It's that hot guy, who doesn't like me,and he's at my house....why". Anywho, I tried to talk to him again, and he barely spoke and was short, so I made a mental note to ignore him from then on. I later saw him that night chatting up my daddy (yes I'm 20 almost 21 and I still call him daddy, I always will ), who is extremely over protective of my sister and I, and my dad was actually laughing and high fiving him . From that point on I could never remember his name, my friends and I just always called him the "hott boy", and whenever I tried to talk to him he acted like he hated me. Sorry this is so long , I just love talking about my baby! For the next 6 months I saw him everytime I went out with my group of friends, and on one occasion, when I had just turned 18, we went to the mall with a few people, and a random guy hit on me, and would not leave me alone , and BF came to my rescue and ordered the guy to get away frome me (He's 6'3). I thought it was so sweet. Later that night he told me he liked me, and had always liked me, and he went back every weekend, for 4 months to the bowling alley where we met, hoping he would see me again. He then later purposely became friends with my friends so he could see me again. And the reason he was "mean" to me was because he was to nervous to talk to me, and that I was the most beautiful girl he had ever met (great line, haha!). I told him that while "I was flattered and he was fine as heck! I wasn't looking to date anyone seriously right now". And do you know what he told me? "I will wait on you for as long as it takes for you to be ready to date me, I am not going anywhere, take as much time as you need". Long story short (even though at this point it's futile, LOL), he went to my father and asked for permission to date me, and my father said yes! My entire family love him. My father calls him his son, and my sister calls him her little brother. I went through a very sad time where I purchased a pomeranian puppy from a breeder. She sent me the wrong dog, and he died a few days after getting him from parvo. I was so depressed for months over it. (There is a thread about it-http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19532&highlight=boettger) and he paid a little over $800 and got me my first yorkie Tucker, who I don't have anymore (long story, to painful to talk about), to cheer me up. I love him so much. He is my light. Sorry for the extra long story guys . Thanks for letting me share how I met my "love" with you guys

| You guys have such great stories. Mine is kinda boring (sigh), but here it is. I met my boyfriend of a year and a half at his fraternity house. I was talking to some people and he kind of jumped in the conversation, and we hit it off. I was the designated driver that night, so I had to leave and drop some people off. While I was gone he started telling my sorority sister that the only girl he was interested in(me!) just left. She immediately called me and told me what he said. After I dropped my friends off at home I went back to the fraternity house and we talked and danced for several more hours. My friend put my number in his phone and he asked if it would be okay to call me. I said yes, and we've been together ever since.
