Paranormal - Do you believe?

I've been putting this off for a very long time, but it is finally getting to me. Yes, I live in a "haunted house". I am hoping that by sharing this, the believers will assure me that I'm not crazy, and perhaps the non-believers can give me a logical explanation for all the weird things we've experienced! I won't get into all the real bad details right off the bat, because I really don't want to freak people out, but this "energy" that is in my house has been getting worse and worse over the years, and now it is frightening my dogs.

I'll list a few of the minor things that happen - the usual "cold spots", shadows that move when there is nothing there to cast them, dishes that rattle in the cabinets, household items disappearing (some come back, other things we have never seen again), lights coming on and off for no reason, etc. It started years ago, but it was just every now and then. We've had fish tanks break for no reason, plants die, dogs get sick, and there is never an explanation or a reason for these things. Now, it is getting to the point where something happens just about every day. The dogs will focus on an area and bark like crazy. Phantom even gives up his belly to "nothing" all the while staying focused on it. Sometimes I catch them spinning around frightened to look behind them (as if something or someone touched them or poked them or something).

So, the question is, can this "thing" be cast out of my house somehow? Has anyone else experienced anything like this before? Yes, we do plan to move sometime in the near future, but until then, I really don't want any more of this to go on. Like I said, if I mentioned everything, I think someone would have me committed, but I am not the only one who has seen these things, my husband has also experienced many unexplainable "evil" things as well, so you'll have to commit us both!

I lived in a home that was "haunted" by kind spirits....no evil stuff going on......the pets would always "alert" when the energy entered a room...pups would all look at the same time, at the same place, and would bark when it first entered, but would then quiet down and we all just co-existed.....no negative energy, no terrifying experiences, .....I am not sure I could stay in a place that was harbouring evil.... Have you researched the history of the house and what happened there? I would want to be sure those were resident spirits and not spirits that followed you into the house....you dont fool around with Ouiji boards, do you? Those are portals to the spirit world and Lord only knows what will come through when you play around with these boards......I would think you need to know WHAT you may be dealing with before you know how to correct the situation. Get a history on the house....and then when you have an idea wehat energy has been "left' entrapped in the area, you will be able to get the right remedy.

I believe you, I have a ghost in my house too. My ghost is nice and has been with my family for 35 years and multiple houses. She's mostly attached to my mom, my cousin, and me.

She mostly steals certain sized clothes and loud objects like hammers. For example my bridesmaid dress went missing for a few years, we found it in a hard to get to tote full of baby stuff. My mom has also seen her keys fly across the floor.

We also get the cold spots and I've felt cold hands on me.

We also had my grandmom's dog around for awhile. Our dogs were littermates and she died a year before my dog. After she died we'd hear her sniffing under the bathroom door and her tags clicking, it stopped after my dog died. We think she was waiting for her.

I have no idea what you can do to get rid of the ghost. Has it been there since you moved in?

Thanks for the reply. No, we don't fool around with Ouija boards. We know some of the history of this house, because it belonged to my Grandparents before we bought it back in 1999. My Grandparents moved there in 1974 - and they can't recall any odd occurrences when they lived there. I also lived there with them for a short time in the 80's and it was a happy place, so I have no idea why this is happening now. The house was moved back in the 50's (to make room for the highway) and it has been where it is now since then. I really hope this energy is attached to the house (which we can leave behind) and not us! I'd hate to move and have it start happening all over again!

Okay house was moved in the 50's your grand parents noticed or did not tell you of anything unusual since they moved in 1974.

That is not so good I think, sorry to say. First is the research on the house origins and history.

Beyond Oujii boards are there other methods of divination in your home. Tarot cards, mandellas, or other things?

I guess the question is if evil did not exist in the home when your grandparents were there, why now?

And yes I believe we know little about the world(s), that we have many more senses and sensibilities that are currently documented.

I have had some weird things happen over my years, so I do have an open mind about this question.

Just thought of something ... there was a couple of years (between my Grandparents moving out and us moving in) that the house was rented. I know a couple of different people lived there, all for a short period of time. I wonder if something happened during that time that could have brought them on somehow? I believe it/they were there when we moved in, but it wasn't really noticeable at first.

I think there might be Tarot cards somewhere in the house, but I never really used them. I had an Aunt that would read them once upon a time, and this deck was given to me as a gift when I was a teenager, but I haven't really seen them since. I guess I'd better look for them and toss them out if they still exist!

Not sure ... someone who uses them for another purpose? Like "for good" instead of "evil"?

When both my kids went away to college I sold my big house & bought a tiny (and I mean tiny) fixer-upper house. It was built in 1956 by the original owners themselves. The old lady became ill and went to a home, where she passed, but the old guy lived in the house until he died in what is now my bedroom!

ZoE has often run from one room into another barking, like something/someone is there. My neighbor came over one time, while ZoE was still a puppy, to see my progress on house projects I've been working on, and I was telling her about ZoE running into a room barking. She told me that she's been psychic since she was a child and that the old guy died in my bedroom (heard the same thing from another neighbor, so already knew this) and that he's watching the changes I'm making to his house and is happy I'm taking pride in it, because he had a lot of pride in it. And then she told me the old guy used to own a beautiful standard poodle that he showed. Then, she told me the poodle's presence is still there...and that ZoE interacts with it! This totally freaked me out!!! I'm not sure that I actually buy into it...but it might explain a few of ZoE's strange behaviors.

Strange thing is my house has a really positive "vibe" even knowing all this. I looked at many lil houses before buying this one, and some I'd walk in, get a weird feeling & just walk out...no point in even looking at it.

Have your neighbors lived their long? Have you talked to them about it? Maybe they could shed some light on what's going on.

This is so interesting! I totally believe in ghosts but have never had anything of significance happen to me. My sister told me she felt a "hand" brush up against hers when she was half asleep in what used to be my grandparents' room of my dad's house. I always felt strangely cold in that room. Other than that nothing else.

Why don't you ask if a psychic can come to the house?

We bought our house as a new build. My dh and I have both seen a shadowdy figure at the end of the hall many times, at the same time. Huey has never alerted to this and I can't recall seeing it in several years (really not since Homer died) but our old lab mutt Homer dog would alert at the same time we would sse it. The only thing I can think of is we live next to the Chickamauga Battlefield. Maybe someone had a dog like mine and wanted to hang out with him, and when Homer died, maybe he was satisfied that wasn't his dog or maybe Homer went to keep him company. Who knows. I believe there are things that happen that are inexplicable.

I do believe in spirits lingering around the people who are not ready to let them go.

Every single time we go back to my BF's hometown (Nederland, TX) to visit, there are these canals by his parent's house. When we drive past them at night, I always feel like I can see someone, out of the corner of my eye, standing in the water in the canal. Obviously nothing is there when I turn to look, but I can see them out of my peripheral vision and they don't go away as long as I don't turn my head to look. It's always a girl with long hair and a white dress. I know, that sounds literally crazy lol.

What really freaked me out was that I had not told anyone about it yet, and Tony's mom told me a story about how one time, she and Tony were taking a walk around the neighborhood one evening and she saw a big black trash bag floating in the water, which she said looked very suspicious and she just had a *feeling* that it was a dead body. She turned around and brought him home, then called the police. Don't know what came of it though. Keep in mind I had seen the girl before I heard this story, and she didn't know I had seen it. I didn't mention it because I was so freaked out!!! I see her EVERY time we pass that canal! She just stands there and watches us drive past.

I do believe there are spirits and other paranormal things that happen. I have been told things from people that have seen or experienced them.
