When both my kids went away to college I sold my big house & bought a tiny (and I mean tiny) fixer-upper house. It was built in 1956 by the original owners themselves. The old lady became ill and went to a home, where she passed, but the old guy lived in the house until he died in what is now my bedroom!
ZoE has often run from one room into another barking, like something/someone is there. My neighbor came over one time, while ZoE was still a puppy, to see my progress on house projects I've been working on, and I was telling her about ZoE running into a room barking. She told me that she's been psychic since she was a child and that the old guy died in my bedroom (heard the same thing from another neighbor, so already knew this) and that he's watching the changes I'm making to his house and is happy I'm taking pride in it, because he had a lot of pride in it. And then she told me the old guy used to own a beautiful standard poodle that he showed. Then, she told me the poodle's presence is still there...and that ZoE interacts with it!
This totally freaked me out!!! I'm not sure that I actually buy into it...but it might explain a few of ZoE's strange behaviors.
Strange thing is my house has a really positive "vibe" even knowing all this. I looked at many lil houses before buying this one, and some I'd walk in, get a weird feeling & just walk out...no point in even looking at it.
Have your neighbors lived their long? Have you talked to them about it? Maybe they could shed some light on what's going on.
