Well, today begins CNN HLN's marathon coverage of: VERDICT WATCH - dun dun dun! I'm glad they're covering it so well...but isn't it also pretty insane as to the extent they're covering it? It goes from 9am-10pm here in AZ. What on earth will the network DO when the trial is over? |

I hope you are right! A quick and firm message to any other Jodi's and potential male counterparts might cause one or more to give their murderous thoughts a backseat to thoughts of the needle and those last moments of a condemned killer! |

I was on a hung jury and we easily deliberated for about 5 days -- and it was a rape case (rape of a minor girl by an adult male). I can't even imagine what it would be like heading toward a 'hung' possibility on a MURDER trial...my gosh, I could see that type of deliberation going on for 3 weeks easily! |
What has happened to Nancy Grace these last few years? That schtick of attacking her guest commentators and utterly humiliating many of them at times - gets old in 30 seconds. She used to be more professional and straight forward, less of some kind of egomaniacal small-town talk show host. I can't believe those guest commentators want face time so badly they would put up with that. She has become a joke to so many. I used to enjoy her show before she changed. |
I just heart on television that the defense tried to make a deal of first degree murder, life in prison with no possibility of parole, and the state rejected it. With a cost of over 2 million, so far to, the state, if they don’t get the death penalty, I think the state will be severely criticized for not taking the deal. |

Well, I just heard that Jodi Arias represented herself through a petition to the court at one time, and then Nurmi and another appointed atty. talked her out of it. No limits on this woman's ego. |

The story behind her being her own attorney is a little more involved. She had produced some letters that Travis had allegedly written, where he admits being a pedophile, and her attorney quit. The letters were rejected by the court as being fraudulent; they weren’t in Travis’ handwriting. After the letters were thrown out as evidence, Jodi asked for Nurmi back. Sometimes, I think Jodi biggest mistake is believing that she was way smarter than she really is. Because she thought she was smarter than Einstein, she didn't look for any flaws in her plan. Nurmi's argument was if she's so smart, why did she make these stupid mistakes. I don’t think Jodi is a very logical thinker, she was just able to outsmart her mom and dad, and she thought she could outsmart everyone else. Lordy, I hope she’s wrong on that! |
I wonder if Travis Alexander's parents are alive and they had any say in whether or not the State sought the death penalty in this case or it was just the State. I'd say if any case deserves the ultimate penalty, this type of slaughter does, especially with so much evidence for premeditation. And plenty of times during that killing she could have stopped but she kept at it, stabbing, slashing and shooting. People get charged with the death penalty for a single gunshot or stab wound every day so I imagine the State felt they could not excuse little Miss Jodi Arias from it and plead her out - they almost had to go for broke. And after the costs of this trial, AZ does have a dent in its bank account. |

1 Attachment(s) Just learned Jodi's art is fake, I guess much of it is just traced from magazine ads, what were the magazines subscriptions LaViolette bought Jodi? Lol, it sounds like she's using them to make her "original" art. This one is from a Dior print ad with Natalie Portman in the photo. Jodi Arias ?Original Art? Dubbed Fake! She Copies Print Ads For Profit! | Radar Online |

I saw something on Twitter about her sketch of Liz Taylor but when I clicked on it, couldn't see any sketch of Liz - just a nondescript woman's face. Her artwork is quite technical in nature and cold. Looks computer generated or something. It doesn't really have a natural flow to it somehow. Still, some do naturally draw that way but it's off-putting. Seems to have absolutely no emotion to it. |

LOL. I notice she didn't try the slightly open mouth on the young female face. Sketching or painting teeth on the female face is so difficult for me - they just always look dirty or something if you draw the lines. You almost have to just barely hint at them or they can look gross. That effect doesn't matter on a man's or old woman's open mouth but on a young woman's, it can be so hard to get it looking right. She could have traced it and probably did being a liar about most things but I've seen some wonderful exact work by the really talented artist with a technical eye for exact detail, dimension and proportion. Virtual copies. But then so many portrait artists do trace outlines of the main structures of the face in portraits and go from there, she's probably just mimicking this poorly kept secret. |
I turned over to HLN - yep - still Jodi Arias - and I'm already tired of waiting. |

Some people say that is Travis's sister in the pic in the picture Nancy posted. :(:( |
Here is the page I have been following: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Alyce...ation=timeline There is a blurb about Jodi's "art" |
Ohhh, I want to go read about this stuff. Thanks for the link, Linda. Did you see she sells those things for hundreds of dollars!?!? Isn't that something everybody wants hanging in their home - one of Jodi Arias' cold sketches!!!!! I'd be afraid my house might burn itself down in protest - just commit suicide to get that off its walls! |

CNN said JA's mitigation expert just entered the courthouse, shaking her head that she wasn't there for another case.(Turns out, she was the lady beside Arias during closing arguments.) It was said jury left last night looking glum. Could be they arrived at a verdict, went home to sleep on it and will come back in an hour late today and final for the last time. Jane Velez-Mitchell said if the jury comes in dressed up today, it could mean the verdict is coming today and they decided to sleep in, come in and vote again and face the media. Then the mitigation expert begins her earnest work. Think today's the day? |
Sure hope so! |
Now JVM is saying one juror arrived early in shorts and saying they could have been at each other's throats and decided to come in late for an extra cooling-off period. |
If this jury doesn't come back with premeditated murder...I will be at a loss for words. |
Getting a bit worried. I don't see the issue...if someone is holding out I will give up on the system we have. This girl is guilty as sin. You know, the judge from Casey Anthony's trial just spoke out the other day saying there was enough evidence to convict her. All it takes is one IDIOT to stand there and insist there is reasonable doubt. What is reasonable to most is not to the few. Makes me sick. |
Could be one are two are just not fully convinced and the others are working on them, going step by step over that mountain of planning she did, showing how all of that just can't be coincidental - not all that. And all of the evidence showing she was never in a fog at any time. But it does seem harder and harder in this country to find a celebrity or those who cry "victim" guilty of anything these days. And by virtue of the media coverage, Arias is an erstwhile celebrity and because she now cries "abuse", she's a victim to some. I think the victim card was part of what got Casey Anthony off. |
"No jury is going to convict me....and you can mark my words on that one, no jury will convict me.":eek::eek: |
My guess is that they're having major dissension over premeditation vs "in the heat of passion". Honestly, I can easily see why a few people would be confused. If you've ever been on a jury, you'll know what I mean. You would not BELIEVE what some people will get hung up on...the smallest little detail, the smallest thing that means zero to you, but everything to them. And they lock on it, and won't let go. And then multiply that by 12. It's not fun. Being on a jury can actually be pretty awful...people crying and everything. |
