Love LED lights and now they makes them very bright! And many times battery operated on a timer! Very neat to let your lights turn themselves on and off daily. |

1 Attachment(s) It's slow going this year...I'm tired when I get home from work, and it's sooo cold out, I'm only getting one or two things done each evening. I now have all my outdoor icicle lights up, and tonight I hung a wreath on the breezeway door and put my santa out. Tomorrow, the other wreath goes on the front door & the little trees go on the front porch. Can you see ZoE in the window? Her ears give her away...lol |
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I see little Zoe. It was like Where's Waldo at first and then I saw what looked like two little Yorkie ears!!!!! Oh, that is cuter than if you could see her well, I think. Just her little shadow there watching everything in silhouette. How sweet a picture is that????? That's so cute you should start a thread so all can see that. That's really a special picture with just a touch of Yorkiness hiding in it! I love that. And your lights are so pretty, too. So pastel and pink and white and is that a little bit of yellow? Look like icing on a cupcake. And the whole picture topped off with a big, fat Santa Claus. Wonderful picture - thanks for sharing it. |

Santa's been in the back of my garage since the move & I didn't use him last year, but after reading about your big santa, I thought about using him. Then when I mentioned it to my kids over their Thanksgiving break they said, Mum you HAVE to put him out! I live on a main road now, with quite a bit of traffic (for a two lane countryish road), and was convinced by them that all the little kids that ride by would enjoy seeing him. So out he went! |
It's beginning to smell a lot like Christmas in the kitchen for us. Tessa and Daisy have been munching on holiday treats all day long! I still need to work on my Christmas cards still. Don't know why I'm slacking on those. Maybe if I wasn't on YT almost all day long  lol |
I went on a crazy shopping spree today! And this is horrible but....every "gift" that I bought was for me! Well, other than a harness for ZoE that was waaaay too cute to pass up. It was so pretty coming home in the early evening and pulling into the driveway and see all my outside lights lit up :). |
LOL. That sounds like some of my Christmas shopping trips. You are in the mood to shop and there is all this neat, neat stuff and Christmas is the time to splurge, etc. This year with my unexpected bills, I won't be doing much but there is always next year!!! And sadly, the fiber optic tree I bought on Amazon turned out to be disappointing after I lived with it a bit. It looked dusty and the ornaments over many of the fiber-optic ends were dusty inside - or at least cloudy looking. Finally, I contacted them and Fed Ex is picking it up. Now I've got to either haul out my big tree from the garage and the pounds of ornaments or buy a little cheap tree and ornaments to see me through the season. So, I thought I might go different this year - maybe a pink or red faux tree!!! IDK, may change my mind when I'm faced with actually getting one at the store. Maybe a pink prelit tree with white lights with red bows for ornaments. My big Shirley Temple doll in her pink dress holding the candy cane in her hand could look good standing on one side of a pink and red tree with Santa Claus and his big bag on the other. |

Today we put up the lights and tomorrow we put up the tree. I love Christmas. This year I am going to try to spend some time each day reading the gospels about the birth of Jesus and thinking how blessed we are to have a Savior who loved us so much to come to earth. Let us all go in haste like the shepards did to the manger and ponder this great mystery that has been revealed to us. |
I really need to go get my cinnamon broom for this year, it's just not Christmas till my house smells like a tree and cinnamon :p |

I'm not sure what a cinnamon broom is, though? |

I love the Smell of Christmas potpourri by Aromatigue that Macy's sells with the oil refreshers. That is the most wonderful combination of Christmas smells to me ever! I have used it since the '80's and again bought some last year and then keep it in a tin the other 11 months with the oil refresher on it. I bring it out only the week before Christmas. It is TO DIE FOR in that it scents the entire end of the house like every fine spice smell you would want that special week, heavy on cinnamon but other mystical scents, too. It IS Christmas to me. |
I must stop at Macy's then when I run down to Orlando. |
Nordstrom's has it, too, usually. You don't be sorry if you try it and like it - buy the line of candles, room scent spray, oil, potpourri. It is very pungent and the most glorious smells in the world at Christmas. The potpourri pieces are pretty, too. Tiny and miniature cones, nuts of different kinds, sometimes seashells, pretty shavings, oddments and all perfumed with such rich spices. The very essence of Christmas. It looks and smells wonderful in a lovely bowl. |
I have to go to Orlando for both those stores :( they promises us a Nordstrom for 2013 but I will believe it when I see it lol I did decide to redo my hairdo for christmas pictures last night but that is the only christmas stuff I did last night lol |

Oooyeah! Great idea. You will just love it if you love strong, rich, cinnamon-spice smells. It can be overpowering and you have to put it in the bedroom or garage for a while if you use more than one bowl or sit close to it for a while. Course I haven't bought any in the bag in 2 years so it may be toned down some now with economic changes being made by many companies in things that used to be one way and are now different, lesser quality products. My refresher oil is about that age, too. It's time to buy another bag of it and some more oil. |
Is it bad that I skipped a friend's 30th birthday party tonight because I had to dye Guinness's Mohawk for his Santa paws pictures tomorrow??? Hmmmmm |
Lmao. . . priorities, they always come first |

Well I could not let him get all dressed up with a faded blue tipped mohawk lol :p |
Whoo, a Christmas thread! I love Christmas, but I'm having the most terrible time getting started with Christmas decorating/shopping this year! :( Anyone addicted to the little Christmas towns? I've always had a thing for them, but the past couple years I've been completely obsessed with the town at Menard's. Wouldn't think a hardware chain would be where one would find a cute Christmas town. Finally, set it up last night. Meant to have everything up and on this past week, but came down with a wicked case of the stomach flu. I'm still not feeling too hot. Hopefully, I can get some more lights up today. |
