Here is our Christmas tree... it felt so good putting it up while Bengi was napping in the couch... :) ahhhh happiness!!!!!! :D

It's a lovely tree, especially so with Bengi home to enjoy it, too.

Now we can all get really into Christmas with no other holidays to "do" still!!!

I am so jealous that you all are starting to decorate! The usual tradition is to start decorating on Thanksgiving night. But we didn't even have Thanksgiving at my house like we usually do every year. We have to wait on our move which should be by the end of the first week of December. I think they will run out of the nice Christmas trees by then. :(

Well, moving into a new house is worth foregoing some early traditions for one year! And think of next year and how beautiful everything is going to be as you pick up things for Christmas along the way all year long if you want, to go well in your new home. Some people still don't decorate until the week of Christmas or Christmas Eve. In a way, I sort of envy those who don't really start the season until later. Think of all that Christmas spirit and decorating compressed until just a week or so - the intensity of all that in just a few days of hustling and scurrying around in a Holiday daze. It can be lots of fun that way - hectic but fun! That's how we used to do it when I was a kid - a week or two AFTER Thanksgiving and we didn't have time to kind of get used to it. Still, nowadays, I kind of like to get it all done early and relax and enjoy it those last two weeks.

Oh I might end up being the last 2 weeks before christmas person this year lol I have not even started my ornaments and I have a busy week ahead already because I might be picking up Guinness's BIG present this week lol

I know, you are right. But I want that smell of pine in my home already. lol :) I can't imagine scurrying around to decorate. But it looks like this year will be it! :D I also love to get it done early so I can relax and enjoy the lights, smells, and sounds of Christmas.

Go to your local nursury and buy a real pine wreath to hang over the fireplace to tide you over. They smell wonderful. :)

*giggling* I could get a pine wreath. But the fireplace will have to be built or get one of those fake brick cardboard ones because fireplaces in Hawaii aren't common. They do have them in a few houses that are on the mountains though. :D Cold here for us is when it hits the low 60's maybe high 50's. ;)

Yeah, just get you a big pine wreath and hang it where you can smell it and enjoy the smells of the season.

Stop bragging. Lol. We get below zero many times in the winter. A fireplace is a must. So happy you will be getting into your new home before Christmas. Be sure to share lots of pictures :)

Lol... Sounds like here granted we get a colder then that but still I always feel odd singing along to "I'm dreaming of a white christmas" because I have NO CLUE of what snow looks like in person haha

:p I will post when I get it decently situated. But I love fireplaces too. I make my mom turn hers on (gas) when we visit texas even if it's in May. LOL

You live on the mainland and you haven't seen snow? I would be driving North as much as I could during winter. :D

Oh, my goodness! You've never been to Aspen or any of the zillion ski resorts we have in the West? Purgatory is very close to Texas so short flight for us. Shoot, we even have little Red River in a pinch. Course in Florida you could be in the ski country up North and Northeast pretty quickly. And to go out late on the balcony or deck and sit and sip hot cocoa in the snow with your wonderful guy is so great at the end of the day when you are so tired but need some fresh air before bedtime. Got to get to snow country ASAP!

I got a 2nd home in Tn last year and it did not snow any last year when I went, I just fear I would not even be able to walk because when we get in the 40's here I look like a 99 year woman trying to walk.

Oh, gosh, I love sinking down to the hips in fairly deep snow and trying to walk in it when at a ski resort. That's part of the fun! But I love snow since I don't have to live with it and we rarely see it in the D/FW area and certainly not deep. I never could ski worth a darn but all the other things do there are so much fun, especially evenings in the lodge around the central fireplace with the new friends you make there or a couple you go with, overlooking the blue mountainside through the huge glass wall. I love all the trappings of a mountain ski lodge with the rustic beams and wood touches, stone fireplaces, rustic rugs. Such atmosphere and ambiance. Ya'll gotta get to Timberline or one of the old lodges with lots of history.

Ouch, Alisha. Sounds painful. Were you in an auto crash? If doc wants to remove them, you probably should. They can get pretty painful.

Birth defect, the cartilage you are born with that is suppose to go away when the kneecaps form didn't mine just hardened so my kneecaps did not fit in place and I could move them around. I ignored the pain and dealth with it till I was 29 then had 4 surgeries each a year apart removing bone in both legs, shaving kneecaps and relocating all the ligaments so now between the metal, arthritis and my fibromyalgia I have go days and bad days walking... And since I always stand odd with my hip out like I have an attitude people tend to think I am bitchy but nope just that leg is almost 2 inches shorter haha :p

Sounds pretty painful and like you had an overhaul but good! I'll bet Florida's humidity doesn't help a lot some days. My MIL had a bad ankle injury when she was young, lost a lot of bone and then an ankle-foot fusion, resulting in a short leg. Living in Dallas, she always hated the humid days and days of humidity or any barometric changes. With my back and right hip arthritis from a fall from my horse, as I got older, I began to understand how yucky humidity can be on joints and ortho problems. I guess that's one reason I like the high country where there is virtually no humidity and things just seem to hurt less. I feel so much better in the mountains.

My knees are better at telling if rain is coming than the weatherman lol when I am in the mountains I am GREAT that is unless it is pollen season then I am screwed because of my sinuses... Brain tumor presses on my sinuses as it is and the medicine for my tumor is known for damaging sinuses... Why yes I am a walking, actually half the time falling, medical issue haha :p

Hmm don't think I have mentioned it unless I made a joke about it like I tend to do so unless you already know me you just think I am kidding :p I have had it since 2003 or at least that is when it was found, doesn't kill me or anything like that and I could have it removed but 90% chance it would come back and the effects of it would still stay.... Mine is in the pituitary so instead of killing me it just like to play evil tricks like weight gain, bad anxiety, dry skin, dry hair, fibro, wild mood changes, memory is gone, sinuses etc.. and it could make me go blind if it starts to grow again which I would have it removed then.
I could go on disability due to my knees, herniated disc in my neck, the tumor and fibro and just give in but I choose to ignore it all just deal with the pain and move on... You only get once chance at life so screw pain I am having fun :D

Oh, sweetie, you poor little thing. I'm so sorry to find all of this out. It sounds like you've had more than a few crosses to bear in life and still keeping up your 'tude and sense of humor in all things! So many would sink into despair or paranoia or a bottle of one thing or another and yet you work at your job, are sharp, witty, productive, have pets, keep a home and go on with a fairly normal life. Pretty cheeky of you, kiddo! Keep up your spirits and don't you worry about decorating that tree until you want to do it! You will be in my thoughts and prayers. :)

Awe thanks :) my Dr bitches at me all the time because I do not take my pain killers like I am suppose to and wants to know why, simple I would rather learn to deal with and live with the pain the best I can instead of being an addict that depends on them... They even tried to force me to go on methadone to which I laughed in his face and told he could shove that script where the sun does not shine :D
