***It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like CHRISTMAS THREAD*** :xmascand:Since so many here are already talking about and even decorating and getting ready for Christmas,:santa: I thought it would be fun to have a:gbhouse: thread for those of us that want to post what we've done each day to get ready for the Holidays.:xmastree1: ********************************************************************************************************* I'll start: Today I bought a couple of boxes of Little Debbie's Christmas and Holiday Iced Cakes at the grocery store. I wasn't really even in the mood for iced cakes but the boxes were so festive and holiday looking I couldn't resist. I've got them displayed on the kitchen counter. My first online Christmas shopping delivery came today - some things I bought for my son. I even stopped in at Toys R Us just to get a feel for what's popular this season and found the busiest shelves were at the Lalaloopsy Doll display. People were clamoring to get one or more boxes and frustrated because they couldn't find the one their daughter wants. I got so caught up in it I almost bought one! |
2 Attachment(s) I won this on Ebay yesterday. It made made in 1958 by Ideal. The little manger is about 13" long so I guess the little infant is about 8" - at least big enough to see under the tree. Isn't he sweet? This will definitely go under the tree when it arrives. |
Lalaloopsy Doll 2 Attachment(s) Here are a couple of the dolls and they are 13 inches. Aren't they cute? |
I love your baby Jesus. Your like me you love ebay. I collect troll dolls and just won a sweet 18 inch thumbsucker troll and it was really competitive bidding so I was excited! I have bought one Christmas Present and I am going to walmart Saturday and putting my daughters main present in layaway. I already have out one lighted church I won on ebay about a month ago. I love getting the mexican wedding cakes and some other peanut cookie at christmas they are archway cookies. I havent seen them yet though. But they did have the oreos dipped in white chocolate so I got some of those yummy! I am trying to get ready fir thanksgiving. We are only cooking a couple of sides and Im making deviled eggs and peanut butter fudge. The rest we are getting a Thanksgiving dinner from Bob Evans. I usually cook but Im looking forward to a break this year. |

Oh, yes, I love Ebay way too much. Just got a Shirley Temple doll I'd wanted for 20 years on Ebay and a few other things. Just ask Betty of Micah My Love! Sounds like you are a Christmas-holic like many of us. I love all your plans but I like you am not cooking Thanksgiving Dinner this year - am taking a year off! We're bringing in dinner as I will probably be getting home from my hip surgery that day! |
I just updated my Webshots Desktop program and set Webshots as my screensaver. I have so many of their great old Chrismas professional photo-screensavers - now that really puts you in the holiday mood. Changes my wallpaper from one lovely Christmas scene/decoration to another once an hour. |

I just bought my kids a gingerbread train to put together. They love that there is more than just a house or man/woman to make. :) We will put it together this week. I started taking out all of my Christmas decorations. The wreath will be the first thing to be put up. |

Let'see I'm picking up one Xmas gift tomorrow. This wkend I will start pulling out the in house decorations, but I need some new hangers for the walls. I'm excited about preparing us all for the family photo session Dec 1st. |
I officially started my Christmas shopping....I bought something for the babies!! |
Stopped by Target today and got a stocking stuffer of 3 Christmas-themed squeaky toys for Tibbe - all blue and white - very Blue Christmas-snowy looking. There is a snowman head, a snowflake and a blue Christmas tree all in blue and white. And VERY squeaky! Tibbe will love them. He loves to high heck anything that he can squeak like crazy. |
Are they plushy or plastic. My guys don't like toys that are plastic. |

This week-end I address my cards and sign them and then I have to wait to get a good picture of the Girl's. That will take forever. LOL Then after Thanksgiving I will put up my Decorations. |
Oh, at Target today I got an "Elf On The Shelf" doll. It is very cute. I then bought a Blu-Ray "A Christmas Carol" from 2009 - the animated ex-3-D one, and at Kirkland's found this wonderful Lava-like Christmas Lamp. They had one turned on and it caught my eye. It is about 14" tall, shaped like a large candle, the "candle"-portion of which is made of clear glass or plastic and filled with that Lava-Lamp clear oil and zillions of gorgeous huge red Glitter pieces. The top of the "candle" has a 3" orange and red plastic flame coming up from the top and the flat top of the "candle" has white plastic shaped like wax running over the top of the "candle" and looks like it is dripping down the side of the "candle" a bit. It sets on a silver base where the light is and it is just beautiful when turned on and warmed up. When it is nice and warm, that lovely red glitter just rolls and roils and tumbles in slow motion and looks just beautiful in the room. I didn't intend to buy something this kitsch-y but it was kind of pretty and I was just dying to buy something Christmas that lit up and moved or something. I found Tibbe some squeaky blue-and-white snowy/winter-themed toys that squeak really really easily and loudly. One is a snowman, one a snowflake and the 3rd is a tree or an ice skate - just recalled - it is an ice skate shape. He will love them in his stocking. Anything squeaky goes over big with Tibbe. |
Our Elf on a Shelf will be making his annual debut soon too. He's been very helpful the last several years popping up in a different place each morning reminding our daughter that's he's watching and reporting to Santa each night! :D |
Aww sounds like you had a good day, i love shopping at Christmas time..between reading here and a movie on tv is getting me in the mood :) |
I'm really beginning to get in the spirit for Christmas and it is fairly warm here! But rain is supposedly coming tonight last I heard and then we are to cool down. Rainy cool weather will help my Christmas spirit even more. Oh, that little "Elf On The Shelf" is so adorable - I have to smile when I see his smiling little face. Tibbe is really interested in him as he is sitting in a small child's chair and low enough for Tibbe to walk right up to. |

I am glad Thanksgiving comes early this year so we have longer to enjoy all things Christmas. |
OK, guilty pleasure: I've been listening to Justin Bieber's Christmas album ALL weekend and this week, LOL. Today we went to Target and got a ton of Christmas cookie dough, and a bunch of stocking stuffers. Oh and I got Jackson a shirt and a Santa suit from the $1 bin, hehe! |

What a fun thread! I plan on getting out our stuff next weekend I think. I'll share pix too. I haven't bought the first thing yet though. I am wondering what Katie Scarlett will think of all of it though! LOL |
I'm not at the decorating stage yet, but I am in the OMG its time for the Christmas foods stage! I've bought those Lil Debbie Christmas Tree cakes, Candy cane kisses, and I've been hunting for Jingles... love those Keebler cookies :) |

You or Chachi are gonna have to post a pic of these elfs.. |
The Elf On The Shelf 1 Attachment(s) Found a pic online since haven't tried to load my camera program yet. Isn't he cute? Mine is sitting in the little natural-wood child's chair I recently got, right next to Little Miss Shirley Temple in her red and white outfit. They have a used one on Ebay for $29.00! Target's new one is way cheaper. Amazon has them, too. |
