Also, your information was also not inclusive of Hispanics, which are also minorities. Blacks are not the only minorities.

She's referring to the second man Dr. Werner Spitz who called the first autopsy shoddy. When he opened the skull it did break. This guys been around for a long time, even did the Kennedy autopsy and I was wondering if he's a little bit senile? They asked him if he knew where it was written that it must be opened and there was no protocol for this. I never did understand what the big deal was and it seemed like a red herring to me.

And her comment was that it was hard to convict a pretty white woman.

That's okay. I understand what you are saying- I just want it to be made clear that it's not just a case of who is sitting on death row- but how the people got there in the first place.

Yes, that was my comment, and I stand by it. You will find exceptions of course. But, this is getting a bit off topic in my opinion.

I'm actually trying to find statistics on American Indians. None of the reports include them specifically. They just say other, which would include Asian, European, etc

It was a total red herring. They opened it...broke it...and guess what? They didn't find anything in there. Hmmmm, that is exactly what Dr. G found when she examined it without further desecrating it.

Look, you can find ANYTHING online to support whatever theory you are after. The autopsy was not shoddy. That was a LIE the defense tried to sell.

Gonna give myself a sidebar for the night. Getting upset about this again.

I'm pretty sure European is grouped under Whites. However, you are right I would like to have more information on Asians and Native Americans.

This doesn't even take into consideration the ones in psychiatric hospitals like Andrea Yates and Deena Schlosser, or the ones who took their own lives.

This is really an inappropriate pursuit, IMO. Statistics can be interpreted in so many ways. The raw data you're putting up is very misleading.

Why point out the % of white victims in death penalty cases vs all murders of whites as a %? Obviously, not all murders are death penalty cases. There usually has to be some aggravating factor, such as murder in the commission of another crime.

Also, the comparison of those being executed more often for killing whites than others is misleading. Though there is far more black on black crime as a whole, the conviction rate is less for these crimes often due to lack of cooperation by witnesses.

While racism is not dead, it affects death penalty (really all) cases less than you imply IMO. The biggest factor is money...as in we have the best justice system that money can buy. Defendants relying on Public Defenders are convicted at a much higher rate than those that can afford good council.

I have no idea why this has been brought up, except for the mentioning of Casey being a 'pretty white girl'. OJ was not a pretty white girl, but he had excellent lawyers.

Frankly, I'm a little offended by the mention of all this. It had nothing to do with this trial, so why bring it up?

Well, it may interest you to know that I am not black. I am white/hispanic. That does not mean that I can't see that there is racism in the justice system. Please don't say my comment was racial. It was me who said she was a "pretty white woman" and yes, I DO believe that it played into this. This is just my opinion and I am entitled to it just like everyone who does NOT agree with me. I would classify myself as a "somewhat pretty white woman", so I don't think I am being unfair in my opinion.

But, like I said, this is getting off topic and can get emotions going all over the place. I think it would be best if we just dropped it right here. Again, this is just my opinion....take it for what it is worth...which to a lot of people is not a lot!

And yes....I agree MONEY affects trials in an even bigger way than race does. I was just saying that I think it CAN affect cases, and I think it did in this one.
