| I never knew they had anything that cheap either - but then again I had never before been into an Ann Taylor store before. I should have looked around while we were in there, but I am unable to get around stores without one of those scooters, and they didn't have one (most stores don't - which is why I do most of my shopping online).

| My worst gift was from my poor BF, one year for my B-day when we were first going out he bought me a Radar Detector. Yeah, a radar detector. I guess he didn't want me to get caught speeding? lol. He made up for it though, he returned it and used the money to take me clothes shopping, we are still together and I've never gotten a gift that terrible again |

| I will have to admit my husband does pretty good with gifts for me and he really has good taste in women's clothes. But, when I was single, one of my girlfriend's boyfriend gave her a cheese grater. Can you believe a CHEESE GRATER????? That is right up there with the toilet bowl brush. I would over look a mother-in-law quicker than I would a boyfriend. I think if it had been me, I would have sent him packing with cheese grater in hand. |

| great thread!! When we were dating my future husband gave me a coffee pot that was a regift... I almost didn't marry him Then for my birthday he said he was going to have my car painted, never did... still shouldn't have married him. He has not improved at all... one year for Christmas he did give me a set of pearls.. very nice that same year for my birthday(we were at my in-laws, as I was opening my b-day present)everyone was looking at me with great expectation- I thought it was a joke because it was the same box as my pearls came in.. he forgot he had given me pearls and bought more!!!!! everyone thought I was horrible when I didn't get excited, I said so... where is my present?? We took them back, and I didn't get anything. Lesson learned, should have kept my mouth shut, took them back myself and exchanged them for something I wanted!!! A few times he has done well, our girls have seen to it!!! And we have been married for 28 years. One of my great presents was the year my daughter, Amy,got a wii for me... she had to stand in line for 5 hours at 2:00am. People kept asking her, how old is your child to get a wii, and she would say "no, it is for my mom!!" got to love her!!!

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Hmmm.... George is gift challenged so I have learned to prepare myself to smile and thank him for thinking about me no matter what the gift. The worst one? Probably the acrylic leopard-print caftan with matching slippers. Hint to men: NEVER give your S/O a CAFTAN, for crying out loud! This year he really tried -- the TV in our bedroom died in November and he went right out and bought a really nice new one and had it wrapped up for my Christmas gift. But I can't go to sleep without the TV on so I bought a new one in early December and was just taking the empty box out to the garage when he came home and realized what was going on. So this year I got a portable water bowl, a food bowl, and a leash. I assume they were for Tallulah but in hindsight... ? He did spend the whole month of December grousing to our friends about how I had spoiled his surprise. But seriously -- how could he expect me to go a whole month without a TV at bedtime? |

| I've never had anything really terrible... the worst was probably from my roommate in college. The three of us girls decided we were buying each other presents, but we'd buy something for the house. We were students, and my one roommate and myself were paying for our own schooling and the other was getting put through school by her parents, plus a spending money allowance every month (I mean, she'd buy $100 worth of clothes every month!). I still tried to get nice gifts... a picture for one, a nice set of coasters and I can't remember what else for the other... but I spent probably $25 on each. I got a picture in return, and then I opened my gift from the "rich" girl and it was a little round wooden thing with a hole and a stick... and I realized it was a cheap, $5 (if that), paper towel holder. What? Really? I guess it was "for the house" but not really gift-worthy in my opinion! We are not friends anymore, but that wasn't the reason lol!
