Our first Christmas together I decided that I would do my husband's stocking and he would do mine. Santa did the kids stockings of course. I got him all kinds of great gadgets. He put pencils and pens in mine....really pencils and pens? When I complained he told me that everyone needs pencils and pens! Never happened again...now I get gift certificates and nail polish and good stuff!

oh I love Stocking stuffers! I was with my ex fiance for 10 years and he NEVER got me jewelry, not once in like the first 6 years..... (before the engagement ring) so I finally said I wanted ANYTHING jewelry related. Well in my stocking that year, he made it more like my real gifts and stuffed it with VS gift certificate for a new bathrobe (they have the best bathrobes but they are prriicceeyyy) fun socks (I love colorful goofy socks), a beautiful pair of earrings and a beautiful bracelet. He also got me concert tickets and a bunch of other really awesome gifts all in my stocking! It was the best stocking ever!!! LOL

Xbox360 with Kinect is GREAT for exercising! So much more fun than a boring ol' treadmill. And he can use it for games too. Return the treadmill.

Great Thread!

I am usually not TOO picky about gifts and am one of those people who actually likes the "useful" gifts like crockpots! LOL!

But a couple of times I have been given USED gifts and that is the worst-like 2/3 of a bottle of lotion, or blankets that you can TELL have been washed a number of times, like HELLO people, there shouldn't be pilling in the fleece before I even get it! haha

My very first boyfriend gave me a box of buckeyes
for those of you who do not live in ohio buckeyes are sugared peanut butter balls covered on chocolate with a little tiny bit at the top left plain so it looks like a buckeye.
the problem,I'm deathly allergic to peanuts and I hate chocolate. and he knew that because the week before I had told him that I could not eat lunch with him because he had a peanut butter sandwich and if he touched me I would die.

I cant remember what the gift was for now.

The worst gift I ever got was from my in-laws one christmas, they walked in with this big HUGE parcel for me, wow did my eyes light up but when i finally got it open it was a Gnome a HUGE gnome I hate gnomes, I put it out by the front door hoping somebody would steal it, no, I sneaked it into my sons garden but it sneaked home, finally I put it on a low wall and the wind blew it off and his head broke, I wasn't fast enough my father in law came round and said "Oh I can glue that for you" he took it away and it came back 5 days later with a fresh coat of paint and all repaired, now he hides out behind my garage, At least he's not in my eyesight every day. But I know he's still out there.

Early on in our marriage my husband was TDY to 29 Palms. He called me from the airport when he was coming back, said he had bought me a gift.
I was excited, imagining a nice piece of jewelry or something personal.
Nope - he had bought me a Hickory Farms smoked sausage and some port wine cheddar cheese!!!!

My brother in law always got me clothes on my birthday or Christmas (both he and my husband have great taste in clothes), but since he remarried, he and his wife have given us new trash cans one Christmas because they thought they were great as they had the lids that opened with a touch - only problem is they quit working within a couple of months. They have also bought me lounge stuff that doesn't fit and isn't my style (his wife picks it out!), and they said they wouldn't mind if I changed it. So went to the store (Ann Taylor Loft) and tried to change it. Couldn't as it was over 30 days since it was bought and the clerk said as they had the item on clearance sale for $1.68 (never knew they had anything that cheap even on clearance) they could give me the $1.68!

OMG! I would have been mad too!! Ha ha. I think that was a pretty bad gift. The worst gift ever was on my birthday this year. I spent it alone. My husband and my sons went with my parents to our other property. Everyone forgot my birthday. I didn't get presents, taken out to dinner, nothing. I still get upset about it. My son promises this year I will have the best birthday ever! So, we will see!!

On a lighter note, my husband is usually good about my gifts. He brought me home flowers today.

$1.68! I never knew anything was that cheap either! You can't even send mail for $1.68!
