I've never had anything really terrible... the worst was probably from my roommate in college. The three of us girls decided we were buying each other presents, but we'd buy something for the house. We were students, and my one roommate and myself were paying for our own schooling and the other was getting put through school by her parents, plus a spending money allowance every month (I mean, she'd buy $100 worth of clothes every month!). I still tried to get nice gifts... a picture for one, a nice set of coasters and I can't remember what else for the other... but I spent probably $25 on each. I got a picture in return, and then I opened my gift from the "rich" girl and it was a little round wooden thing with a hole and a stick... and I realized it was a cheap, $5 (if that), paper towel holder. What? Really? I guess it was "for the house" but not really gift-worthy in my opinion! We are not friends anymore, but that wasn't the reason lol!
