| Worst Gift Ever!!! I thought since Valentine's day is around the corner...I thought it would be funny to start a thread on "What is the worst gift you ever got?" It doesnt have to be on Valentine's day...it can be from any holiday, birthday, etc.... I'll start, Christmas...our first year being married.....hubby gets me a .....CROCKPOT. Let's just say that was the first and LAST year hubby ever bought me an appliance as a gift.

| Well I would like a crock pot because My Husband is bad about buying giftsand alot of times I dont get one. He hates shopping. He did however redeem himself this year. For Christmas he bought me this beautiful tiger garden statue I wanted. It looks just like a baby tiger. Then for Valentines he bought me a bridge to put over the stream in my garden. So hes been good this year so far and Im making it up to him if you know what I mean. I want him to know his generosity is appreciated.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I've changed through the years, I use to tell hubby never to buy me a gift with a plug, but after years of receiving stuff I'd never use, I decided plugged gifts are great! One of my favorites was a steam cleaner, and I think this would make a young woman cry. My all time favorite gift was a great pair of high heels, but I left them under the tree, and my German Shepard chewed one up the same day. Probably the worst gift was a pair of plaid slacks, nuff said.

| My generous but clueless boyfriend got me an DC/AC converter for the car. hahahaha I love men! So his thought was that if we lost power again we can plug the coffee maker into the car and brew a pot (I am a grumpy person without my morning coffee). Yes, this does not work people!!!!! hahaha He ended up going to the nearest Dunkins for coffee! haha However my car cell phone charger broke and with this DC/AC converter I can use the home charger in the car so it does come in handy.

I think I'm going to have to get a french press... i do not have a gas stove though to boil water and I'd use the grill, but usually when we have power outages here its because it's weather you do not want to be outside in!

| I bought my husband an antique cash register that I thought he would be in love with -- NOT! He worked with NCR and had talked about wanting an antique cash register so..... I was shopping in a candy supply store and lo and behold they had one of the first electric cash registers made by NCR -- it was manufactured way back when they had specific registers for specific store types -- this one had been designed for use in the auto industry. It was HUGE - weighed at least two or three hundred lbs. and took two BIG men to move it. Well we got it inside the house, put it near the tree and I covered it with a blanket. The look on Ron's face when he "opened" his gift was priceless -- and I knew right away that I had just thrown away $500. The cash register sat in the same place on the floor until we moved, it was put into storage and stayed there until we finally hauled it off. If I do say so myself, even though it turned into a bust I should have gotten an "A" for Effort |

| I got a lawnmower for my birthday from my X husband the first year we were married He said it was because he knew I liked gardening. That was the worst gift I ever received. The best one was from my current husband he gave me my little Holly on are first Christmas together. She passed away at 16 last May and I still miss her everyday. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Our 25th anniversary, he got me 25 red silk flowers (not even pretty ones). I was hurt. His reasoning, they would last longer and there were "25" of them, like getting the number right would be appreciated lol...as it turned out, I do use them on the 4th of July as a table centerpiece Not us, but b-i-l bought s-i-l new work boots for Christmas, so she could carry in the firewood. Such a thoughtful jerk....lol...they long ago divorced, not over the boots though.

Honestly Cindy, he normally does so much better, that's another reason I think it hurt me so, at the time. He truly didn't understand the problem, so I couldn't be too upset with him. Now, every 4th of July, I just look at the ugly flowers and laugh! And, I do remember them more than I do the countless, rings, necklaces, perfumes and chocolates!

| My hubby usually does pretty good but he has my daughters to help him out. In the early years of our marriage, I did tell him no kitchen or cleaning gadgets as gifts. Now, I do appreciate them more. Although this year I wanted an XBox360 with Kinect, and he bought me a treadmill. LMAO. I'm scared to ask his reasoning on that one!
