| Oh Ann, I too feel your pain. I've suffered from chronic migraines since I was 14. Nothing OTC touches my pain, and I've gone through several prescriptions that eventually stop working (Imitrex injections being one). I've also kept "trigger" diaries, had CT scans, MRI's, been to biofeedback classes, only to find nothing. My savior for the past few years has been Relpax 40mg tablets- I know not one thing works for everyone, but if you haven't tried this, please ask your doctor about it. I was also on a few preventatives (Topamax being one) that either didn't work or made my headaches worse within a few months of taking them. And I hated the side effects (eg., "Dopamax" nicknamed for the sleepy, absent-minded side effects). When I get migraines that get away from me, I also have severe vomiting that can last for days, so I also have Zomig 5mg, administered via nasal spray when I can't keep a pill down. This doesn't usually get rid of the headache, but takes the edge off until I can begin eating/drinking again. Up until a few years ago, I would be hospitalized for dehydration due to days of vomiting from migraines. I do hope you feel better, and please continue trying prescription drugs to manage your headaches until you find one that's right for you. Sending hugs and feel-better wishes.

Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | Many years ago a Chiropractor was the one to help Jack with the horrible migraines he had, that Chiropractor just only did adjustment at the neck with a little tool, after many series of treatments with that he was fine. Have you thought of seeing a Chiropractor Ann? Hope you are feeling better and can get over having them. He sure did help Jack. |

On the aspartame, I do have some (I know )...and though my body seems to be okay with it in the past, maybe it's not okay anymore. I have one espresso in the morning, so that's not toooo bad. Again, it's so awful just how many people suffer from this...but I so appreciate the suggestions. I made an appt with my doc to talk about all of these ideas.

| I feel sorry for anyone who has migraines. The only headaches I ever have to deal with are sinus headaches at certain times of the year. Those are generally in the early spring or early fall when strong weather systems are going through here.

| I've only had 1 migraine headache. I was 11 years old laying on the sofa watching a movie with my parents. I told my mom to close the blinds and shut the lights off because the light was in my eye and hurting me. Well, the room was dark. I then felt a little queasy and as I made my way to the bathroom I fell over a potted plant and fell to the ground. I remained on the ground, crying in pain from an awful headache and blinding light. I was rushed to the emergency room. The doctors performed some equilibrium tests. It was all simple stuff like take your left hand and touch your right shoulder. I couldn't do it because I was confused. They knew immediately I had a migraine headache. I never had one since. Ann - here is the expert I was telling you about: Got A Migraine?
