| Yesterday was a tough day for this country...As will every 9-11 anniversary be I was in the city that day just getting off the train...I walked into my office to a lobby FULL of my co-workers all with this look on there faces that is undescribable...I remember someone saying looks like a plane hit one of our towers, must be an accident...No sooner than that the 2nd plane hit tower 2...Everyone went into panic...All I can remember was running back to my desk and calling my sister (or at least trying to call her) I got no answer of course! Cell phones were out...I called my mom frantic trying to see if she got hold of her and she hadnt either! She finally called an hour later to let us know she was ok and stuck in a bar downtown and couldnt leave because the area was filled with smoke...But at least we knew she was ok...I for one couldnt get out of the city for 13 hours...No trains were running, no buses...NOTHING AT ALL...Like our city was on lockdown...My husband at the time worked right in Times Square...He had to walk 13 miles back into Brooklyn with all the other millions of people that decided to do the same... Last night when I got home, my mom had a candle lit in our front window...And you can see the Towers of Light from the front windows as well...It is all very moving Everyone that I know, knows at least one person or a friend of a friend who died that day It was a terrible tragedy and one that no one will ever forget... God Bless Everyone Fran and Sammi

Once I knew all my family and friends were safe I just sat in front of the tv all day crying. It was so surreal. I had a hard time watching the coverage yesterday but I did. It is so sad that we know people who died that day and like you everyone we know does too. My thoughts and prayers and with everyone.

| Tragedy Thank you for sharing that video. I sent it to some family members and friends. I remember the horror and devestation of 9/11 all too well. I watched from my office window as the second plane crashed into the WWC. It was the most awful thing I've ever seen and I've had nightmares of that image ever since. After walking hours in the sweltering sun, I made it to the Brooklyn Bridge and crossed over into Brooklyn (around 11:30 p.m.). After walking about another hour and a half, I finally found a working pay phone and called my parents and Jim to tell them that I was safe and in Brooklyn. Then Jim (my boyfriend at the time, now my husband), my father and my uncle drove to Prospect Park to pick up me and a co-worker who walked with me to Brooklyn. I thought I was one of the lucky ones because, as far as I knew, all my family and friends made it out safely. But then I learned a few days later that a very close family friend never made it out of the south tower. His wife, Brenda, and their 3 children were left without a father. I don't think NY will ever fully, completely recover from the 9/11 tragedy. We will always have this scar on our minds and carry this burden of loss in our hearts. But I truly feel that this devestation has made our city stronger in several different ways. I pray for all those who lost friends and loved ones on 9/11. God bless you all.

| I can't believe its been 4 years already. I watched the video last night and it seemed like it was just yesterday. I cried and just sat there wondering how that could have happened. I was in school in the hallway and I heard people talking about a plane crash in the states, but no one really knew the severity of it, or what really happened. When I got to my grade 10 english class our teacher came in and told us what happened. We turned on the TV and just watched. The whole school was shocked and I was terrified that the attacks would continue. It was just so surreal that I was watching something so horrible happen, and there was nothing anyone could do. I really admire how the US handled it and came together during such a terrible time. I hope everyone always remembers that day, all the people that were killed and everyone else affected by it.

| its still seems fresh to me... I live on the UpperwestSide and I as home that day and my sister went to work that morn... she worked at NYU at the time so she was really close and saw ppl jumping and the like... I watched in shock at home. 9/11 is my younger sister's bday and that day she went to school in bklyn and she was one of those ppl who walked the bklyn bridge to get home. she didnt come home till well after 9pm.or so. Due to the wind the smell of burning rubber was so present from my apt!! I dont think i slept a wink for a week b/c of the sheer fear of what could happen next. I had only been to the WTC 2x in my life.. i know i dont take advantage of where i live... and in those two times i was only inside never was outside to appreciate the park and the outside surroundings of the WTC. I worked for about a week in a Victoria Secret Store and the other time i was there was at the Windows of the World.. rest/lounge. I went one evening for some4 salsa dancing and the VIEW AMAZING.!!! I couldnt bring myself to go down to that region after the attacks. it had been months since i went back down there and it was by pure accident.. i was called into jury duty and on one of my breaks I ended up walking down there and all i could do was cry.. b/c all you see was a gated up area and endless walls of flyers of missing ppl. I dont think anyone can ever forget.....

| Thank you for sharing that video. My husband and I were on our way to his Aunt's funeral and we found out about it when we walked in to the funeral home. His cousin, who's husband was working at the Pentagon, came up crying and said they were leaving immediatly for home. At the funeral the priest was talking about the tragedy. After the funeral we went back to his Uncle's house and watched it all on tv. We were so torn, my husband wanted to leave right then to get our kids from school, but I knew they were safe and that his uncle needed us more right then. Driving home we could see the smoke in the sky. (we live in NJ) The next day I found out my friends brother was missing. (He was on the 90th floor of building 2) They never found his body. He had a 3 week old baby, and that was his first day back to work since the baby was born. They did his memorial service at the baby's baptism. I will never forget. Some times when I hear the people who worked at the world trade center called heros, it makes me sad because I know that those people weren't interested in being heros. They were just going about their lives, earning a living and doing what we do every day. God Bless Them

| Thank you so much for sharing the video with us. I live in the Upper West Side and I will never forget 911. I was sleeping went my husband called me to tell what had happened. I turned the TV On and my sister, her husband and I were watching on disbelief. My sister were visiting from Ga and they were planning to stay in the hotel in the WTC. The Hotel didn't have any rooms available so she decided to stay with us. When the second plane crashed I though was an explossion and my brother in law told us "no" and that was a second plane and was no accident. We were in shock. Then we heard a plane crashed in the pentagon. It was just surreal. My husband left his job and pick our son from school. I was just so scared, nobody knew if there could be more attacks. I dont live close to the WTC (is like 130 blocks)and you can still see and smell the smoke. I didnt loose any family members or close friends that day but it still affected me deeply. I was just watching the news and crying. Just couldn't understand why something like that happened. My aunt's neighbors daugther died that day and her body was never found. |

| I have that tribute saved on my computer because whenever i am feeling down and feel like i am losing hope I play it and realize how stupid my problems are compared to what all of those people faced... Being from NJ and having the NY skyline in my backyard made it hit close to home... 9/11/01 was my sisters first day at NYU.. She was in her dorm gettign dressed and she saw the first plane crash and then she saw the 2nd one.. My mom was on her way into the city to visit her.. I was up in Springfield Massachuettues doing my Student Teaching.. The principal told me that a blimp hit the twin towers and then like 40 mins later he told me we were under attack.. I had to be calm in the classroom but it was the hardest thing being there knowing my family was near NY... A day later, I realized one of my students (during my student teaching) wound up losing her mom in one of the plane crashes.. (Springfield is about 1.5 hours from Boston and her mom was flying for business).. This was a day our nation will never forget!! I just hope we make a full recovery!! God bless all of the victims and families of the victims!! We will never be forgotten
