its still seems fresh to me... I live on the UpperwestSide and I as home that day and my sister went to work that morn... she worked at NYU at the time so she was really close and saw ppl jumping and the like...
I watched in shock at home. 9/11 is my younger sister's bday and that day she went to school in bklyn and she was one of those ppl who walked the bklyn bridge to get home. she didnt come home till well after 9pm.or so.
Due to the wind the smell of burning rubber was so present from my apt!!
I dont think i slept a wink for a week b/c of the sheer fear of what could happen next.
I had only been to the WTC 2x in my life.. i know i dont take advantage of where i live...

and in those two times i was only inside never was outside to appreciate the park and the outside surroundings of the WTC. I worked for about a week in a Victoria Secret Store and the other time i was there was at the Windows of the World.. rest/lounge. I went one evening for some4 salsa dancing and the VIEW AMAZING.!!!
I couldnt bring myself to go down to that region after the attacks. it had been months since i went back down there and it was by pure accident.. i was called into jury duty and on one of my breaks I ended up walking down there and all i could do was cry.. b/c all you see was a gated up area and endless walls of flyers of missing ppl.
I dont think anyone can ever forget.....
