| Wal mart seems to be playing, Catch me if you can...game.... For the past few weeks my daughter and I have been watching our orders being rung up at good old Walmart .....Surprise, surprise.....We have both caught the scanners double ringing stuff in our orders many times!!..... We live in two different towns and it's happening to both of us!.....She called me last week and said on one order she was double charged for diapers, a scale and glitter, grand total she would have been out of, $30!!.....I have cought the double charge three times in the past three weeks! Mine where minor, a chicken, granola bars and a h&b product, all on separate orders. My daughter has also picked things up that was on clearance and watched it ring up at regular price!! I thought it was a "mistake" the first couple of times but this is happening too many times between the two of us...... Just out of curiosity I googled "walmart overcharging" and it gave me others that this is happening to! This appears to be such a big scam that some attorneys have sued them for doing this and it's still happening!.... They are overcharging bulk items like coffee and they are also overcharging the produce too, their scales are set to weigh the produce a little bit more than what you actually bought....It may appear to be a few cents from one person but multiply that by thousands of costumers and that's a hefty sum Walmart is getting from unsuspecting customers!..... Here are some of the sites it pulled up... :: WalMart OverCharge Website :: Wal-Mart Watch - Milwaukee, WI. Wal-Mart Fined For Overcharging Its Customers Wal-Mart Watch | Wal-Mart overcharged thousands in Wisconsin Just a warning.....DON'T TAKE YOUR EYEBALLS OFF THE REGISTER!!..

| I always always watch it no matter where I am at and thats why I have made multiple people mad when I start putting my stuff on the belt as close to theirs as I can (w/divider bar) so I can make sure all of my stuff is out and ready to go when that cashier starts scanning. And anything that I buy on clearance, I used to keep separate but now I just make sure it rings up without questioning them first. Target is horrible about puttings signs up on the wrong product. Who takes time to read the small print on the sign!?!?!?! Its their job to make sure its on the right product so more than once I have held up a line so they can verify the prices. Oh well... and I make sure they give it to me too!!

| funny you should bring this up, it has happened to me at least three times. I caught it 2x while she was ringing me up but the other time I had to go to customer service to take it off. I was not happy as I had to stand in that line in order to get it done after waiting in line to pay. Definitely going to watch them ringing things up from now on.

| In defense to my fellow cashiers at Walmart, please be aware that it is NOT the cashier that is double or triple charging you on purpose ! There is a 'beep' sound as the product passes the scanner (as in ALL stores that have scanners) and we all listen to it! Occasionally something goes by and it catches it twice, (freak accident, I'm sure)...We certainly don't want this to happen to anyone, not only will a customer complain and we will get coached (it happens to be humiliatly to get yelled at for something that is an accident or registers fault), but our managers check out registers everyday for faults, which is reported to an outside company for repair...My friend who worked at customer service had hypodermic needles thrown at her because she told the customer that he could not return them because they were open ! Sometimes people return things that don't have the product inside but have rocks in place of the product....Have you ever double checked a hospital bill WOW ...Talk about overpaying or padding the bill ...Or at a restuarant, when the waiter pads the bill? And as far a scales wrong? , please, don't you think Weights and Measures comes in frequently to check these scales for accuracy? Sure scales can be off, everywhere, don't just target Walmart, we are all still human...Sad when people trash others , we are all NOT PERFECT...This is the first time I have ever been a cashier , anywhere and I have to say that we are kind-hearted people who work very very hard...My customers come into the store looking for me ( and others) because we care about them and we want to make sure they leave the store with a good attitude ...It doesn't matter what store you go to or what professional building you enter, it's the people that you deal with that matter! And there are good and bad attitudes everywhere!

My little Shadow Donating YT Member | Thanks for bringing this to our attention!! This is not a fault of Target, I might add, but the fault of dishonest employees anywhere. While using coupons @Target, one of my coupons (Target brand) was not scanned by employee. I knew the dollar amount of coupons that should have been scanned. The coupon was for $2.00 which I guess got their attention. At first, I thought this was "possibly" an oversight, until it happened to me twice. I truly believe they are hoping you will not catch it when multiple coupons are used......for use by them later!! The second time it happened to me, I watched her scan 3 or 4 coupons & she quickly handled one, but did not scan it and I was able to catch on receipt. It had happened to me before so I was watching very carefully......just as I had thought....she acted very quickly with the coupons scanning & into the cash drawer. Told her that she didn't scan one & of course, she acted "surprised". Fumbled in the cash drawer, finally finding the coupon when I wouldn't back down about it!!

| I had this happen to me last week at walmart, they charged me twice for eyeliner. But in all fairness to Walmart, when I got home and seen it on my receipt the double charge I called and the next time I was in there I received a refund. I think that when you have a machine scanning the items, machines mess up and make mistakes, I think it is accidental, not intentional. Be a careful consumer and pay attention to what is being rung up. I also got charged for 4 shirts at Fashion Bug on Saturday and only had 3-I caught that one also! gotta stay on your toes sometimes!

I worked at Meijer for a long time. First as a cashier, then in Customer Service. I must say first of all that people are just mean when you work in customer service!! I seen what goes on behind the scenes and everything, and yes, mistakes are made sometimes. We had days there sometimes that were just crappy because the tech people didnt get all the sales or promos programed in for the cash registers, so we would have to change hundreds of prices manually! It was never intentional for the store to make more money, it was just an oversight because imperfect machines are run by imperfect people that make mistakes. I am sure that some businesses have done crooked things sometimes to screw people over, but most of the time they are genuine gliches or mistakes. There is really no point to go to customer service with a b*tchy attitude and take it out on someone that has no idea what is going on, or yell at the cashier, both of which happen all the time. You dont even see the people that control all of that, and even if you could, odds are it was a mistake. I truely believe it reflects a persons true integrity and heart by the way they react to being overcharged 20 cents on bananas or something equally stupid. People's true colors really show! Even if someone was intentionally taking their money, it makes them no better to behave like a rabid dog as a reaction. 2 wrongs don't make a right....(but three rights make a left.... )

| I just don't buy their produce. It OLD. On rare occasions, they will have a nice looking bag of potatoes, but they're usually soft or growing eyes. I really like Meijers though. I was impressed with their produce and allergy friendly foods section. But I only get to go there once a month since the closest one is about an hour and a half away.

| I understand that cashiers are not at fault here, it's Walmarts system that is at fault. They have apparently been doing this for years that is why people are complaining. Walmart is aware of this and apparently have not rectified the problem and they are allowing this overcharging the customers.... Just so your aware there is NO double beep when the overcharge happens they only way you will catch it is by looking at your reciept or like we do watch the box that you swipe your card through.... This is from one of the links I posted: According to studies conducted by the UIC Center for Urban Economic Development in conjunction with the University of California-Berkley (May, 2005), in the state of California: • There were more than 2 overcharges for every 100 items purchased in 63% of the stores sampled • There is a 95% certainty that between 54.1% and 72.5% of stores in California exceed accepted standards for pricing accuracy • In California, Wal-Mart overcharges customers for 3.9 of every 100 products purchased • Numerous state regulatory agencies throughout the United States have investigated or fined Wal-Mart as a result of its practice of over-charging customers • A similar study conducted in Illinois, Indiana and Michigan yielded similar results! How long do you think Walmart would wait to correct this problem of over ringing merchandise if instead of overcharging it beeped but did not charge for some of the items so the consumer would not be paying for items??... I say it would have been corrected immediately.....

I read last week that Wal-Mart who is supposed to be way ahead of most retailers in sales and they probably are but with the value of a dollar today their net profit is shrinking. I loath these people and all they stand for but not the people who work for them.
