| ouch that looks painful i had surgery on my neck last year, and being 21 i was really worried about having a scar. i used bacitracin (its like neosporin, but imo i think it heals quicker ), and i left it uncovered when i wasn't in the sun...its really important to keep it out of the sun...once it has healed my surgeron recommended that i put sunscreen on it for about 6 months (i still put it on before i go out in the sun) and once the scab has healed you can put mederma on it. its been a little over a year and you can hardly see my scar and i agree your son is a cutie

| The two red spots are oozing...they are acting like burns. Seems like there is a certain cream doctors give for burns isn't there? I think I'm going to call the doctor just to be sure there isn't something I should do for it. Thanks for the compliments about my little boy! He's such a good kid too, so sweet and caring. |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Aloe works very well. Keep the scabs moist and it works wonders. When we first moved into our house our two year old was running outside and playing on the driveway..she did a header. Scraped up one half of her face from top to bottom..it looked horrible. My dad brought over an aloe plant and had me cut chunks of the leaf and open it up and rub it on her wounds. Well she healed nicely and no scars.

Yes, Mederma is what you want to use. DH is a pharmacist, and that is what he recommends! I hope he is not in alot of pain. | |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Wow that looks bad. What a cutie. I think I would have a doc take a look that one by the eye looks like its scraped a lot of layers off.

| Hi Chloe...sorry to hear about your little evil knievel. I dont know what your doctor will recommend...but me being a pediatric nurse..id recommend for him to at least go into the office and have them clean it out....considering he hit pavement and there could be tiny pebbles stuck in the wound...and you dont want an infection. Also since it was near the eye...they may want to do an eye examination. His eye may not show any damage on the outside but its always good to have it checked on the inside. Hope this helps a little. P.S i must say...my husband has a scar on his face from when he was kid from his dog having a brain tumor (it totally freaked out) and biting him...and i must say...it makes him look rugged. |
