My son just did a face plant on the cement He was on his bike without a helmet jumping a ramp! Ahhh! He knows better...:( His beautiful face...he's going to have a big scar. Does anyone know what I can do care-wise to keep it from scarring too bad?? |
OHHH I'm so sorry...boys will be boys. How about trying that neosporin cream for scars. Not sure how it works but I've seen it on TV. |
Depends on how big the scare is ... Vitamine E helps ... Hope he feels alright .... you know Boys will be Boys .... glad he did not break a leg or arm .... |
Oh the poor little guy! I'm so sorry. I've heard that vitamin E oil was also great to speed up healing and to lighten scars. I'm sure there are many other things that can help as well. Just tell him that chicks dig a man with battle scars ;). |
Jodi, I am so very sorry that your precious son "kissed the concrete". Emu oil works wonders. I use Herbal Wound Spray which is actually for livestock, but it is INCREDIBLE. I purchase it from laidinmt.com . If you are squeamish about using an animal product on your precious little one, they have a full human line of products as well. |
when i had surgery they told me to use a lotion with callagin (cant spell) and vitamin E to help with scarring. hope this helps Tammy |
Boys will be boys. Thank heavens he didn't break something. The above info is what I was going to suggest. After it scabs (yuk) don't let him pick. That will cause a scar. Tell him to let it fall off by itself. |
That had to hurt!!! Maybe have a plastic surgeon look at it. Also keep the sun off it until heals as it really darkens the scar. Hope he is ok |
1 Attachment(s) I just emailed this pic to his daddy at work so he could see what he did. He just looks tore up. He is sooo lucky. It's so close to his eye! The cheek part looks like cement road burn. thanks for the recommendations ladies!! |

OUCH...glad to hear he is ok!!! Boys will be boys!! I had a bike accident when I was in my 20's...woke up in hospital....I must have skidded across the pavement pretty good b/c one side of my face was all scraped and I fractured my cheek bone...while I was in the hospital....they came in every few hours to clean my face and they used a cloth that was like sandpaper to clean it....ooohhhh did it hurt....but luckily after all that it healed well and I only have a tiny scar over my eyebrow.....if you have an aloe vera plant...it works wonders...but only on dry skin....He is young, so he should heal quickly with minimal scaring....best wishes! |
is it road rash?? no stiches?? keep antibiotic ointment on it and try to keep it covered during the day and let it dry (leave it open) during the night. |

yp collagen lol |
Maderma...(sp?) is made for scarring... but I believe it is when the actual scab has formed. I use Neosporin on everything and love it. My daughter suffered a scar across her face when she was about 4 years old, you can hardly see it now... Kids heal very well... keep that in mind.. DONT LET HIM PICK at the scab!!! (very important) Use Neosporin or cream like it... and it shouldnt be as bad, but that picture looks like he will end up with a mark no matter what you do.... making it heal as best as it can with out picking at it..(hard with kids) is your greatest bet. Good luck!! It looks like it hurts.. :( :getwellso |
