That pretty much describes my diet. My daughter doesn't eat any seafood though and I have had no trouble ensuring she get's enough protein. She eats some dairy, beans, soy products but really protein is not as big an issue as most people think. Our diets are made up of so much more protein than ever before and way more than most other cultures. In my opinion it's really overstated in our country.

Just an example taken from a typical day in my daughter's life:
breakfast- cereal
lunch- peanut butter sandwich
snack- granola bar


Already, without even trying that is 27g of protein.

I try to cook balanced dinners including whole grains, veggies, legumes, beans and sometimes I cheat and use fake meat. It is really easy.

Okay, we just had dinner- one of my daughter's favorites (keep in mind we're southern gals). Black eyed peas (13-15g protein), rice (3g), salad (1g). So there's another 18 g of protein and normally we would have had cornbread with it which would have added even more. I used white rice but brown rice would have added another few grams (can't do that to black eyed peas though ) See how easy?

yum!! Im not a southern girl but I LOVE black eyed peas

So do you mix the beans and rice, or do you put them on the salad? Im going to try mostly for the brown rice, but we'll see

Does anyone buy PB2 (the peanut butter substitute)? LOVE it! I put it in vanilla yogurt, mix it up, put my Kashi GoLean in - MOUTHGASM for breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day long!!!!!!!!!!! Such a dork....

I get PB2 here: http://www.bellplantation.com/; I use it bc it is so low in calories, and I always love that. On the site, it says " PB2 has 75% less fat, high protein and still maintains the full flavor of regular peanut butter. Essentially, the oil is squeezed out of roasted peanuts and what remains is our famous powdered peanut butter." You can read about it, it's pretty cool. Tastes great w/ yogurt. You can add water and use as regular PB too, yum.

Oh yes, yes, YES on the Quorn. YUMMY! It is a fake chicken and it is sooo good. It's one of the few fakes that aren't soy based. I get it at Wild Oats. It is really worth seeking out.

I haven't had the PB2. Now I must have some!
