Hopefully enough people saw the comments on Steve's very popular website and were deterred from buying from her. I would hope to spare anyone else the misery we went through when we bought our puppy from her. That sure does take the pleasure out of buying a new puppy.

Oh yes you were right....we travelled 3 hours to her place. Everything she says about her "place " is true....Sooo pretty, so staged but nothing she says about the puppies there is true....sadly

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | You know almost two years ago when I first started looking I came across her site. I have to tell you I got bad vibes when I contacted her. She went on and on about how they have this huge property and that is essentially what they do for a living. Sorry but that was a big red flag to me. No one that breeds for quality vs quantity can afford that sort of set up and then when I coaxes out how many breeding females she had that put me off. For someone to be a good quality breeder they for the most part can't support themselves and a household on that alone. I feel really bad for some of the people that have suffered because of her. I know after doing research on the web I had found a site where the person had said that their pup got sick on the way home in the car and died like two days later. The lady refused to deal with them and said it was their fault that the pup died because she gave it to them and it was in good health.

| Something about her website is really odd. It's too perfect, too staged.

| Oh yes guys this is horrible! Her website is exactly like the one for yorkies......all staged! Poor little babies and the people looking for their perfect friend.I think this a new thing because it looks like still under construction. This some of the stuff she is claiming: "We home raise our Dachshunds by hand the old fashioned way! Here in our home, we raise our Dachshunds with us and not in a kennel environment. They have the run of the house!" It is so that she just might get away with her scam.....it makes my head boil. I'm going to tell everyone I know |

I would never want anyone to have to go through the aggravation and expense that I had because of her and I know there is no way to stop her except to try and keep these warning threads alive.

| More on BAD BREEDER, Country Home Yorkies Country Home Yorkies is among the worst. Yes, she is now selling Daschunds and I've already heard from someone that bought a sick one from Denise. Since there doesn't seem any way to put a stop to her legally, the best way to combat her is to get the word around to everyone and every group you know of. Even if we can't put her out of business we can severely cut into her sales of sick dogs. Quote:

| Bad Daschund & Yorkie Seller & Discussion Group There is a Yahoo discussion for Daschunds. It's located at the following URL: http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/joshsdaschundclub/ You have to join in order to post there but if you don't want to do that try sending an email to the list owner.

| Wow Oh my goodness... My husband and I bought our Yorkie from Denise 2 years ago and I just came across this thread yesterday. You can imagine my shock. We love our little guy and so far he seems healthy, but I'm of course nervous about what the future holds. Is she reselling all of the dogs or does she breed some herself still? I'll have to go back through the paperwork we got from her and see exactly what it includes, but I am very sad and disappointed to hear about this. Have there been any specific illnesses reoccuring in puppies coming from her that we should have ours checked for? I'm just not sure where we go from here after learning about this... Thank you for getting the word out there! |

| About Denise To the best of my knowledge, most of the dogs Denise sells she gets from others. That makes her a "Broker" and they are no better than a pet store or Puppymill. Denise is now selling Daschunds as well as Yorkies and I've had negative reports about the health of the Daschunds and Yorkies she's selling. The stories remain the same: no papers, no receipts, no response when you call and leave a message and no guaranty that protects the buyer, ONLY HER. She accepts no responsibility if the dog is sick or even dies. She blames everything on the new owners. I'm not sure of the health risks to Daschunds but all Yorkies should be Bile Acid tested for liver disease. Yorkies have a 36% greater chance of a liver shunt than all other breeds combined but even that percentage is changing as other breeds and cross bred "Designer Dogs' are entering the market. A Designer dog may look cute but they are no more or no less than a Mutt . That's not bad but the prices asked for something like a Yorkie-Poo are more "Poo" (that's meant to be a pun" than anything else. No matter the age of your Yorkie it should have a Bile Acid Test. This test costs about $40-$50 dollars but it's well worth the cost if you value your dog's life and future. Don't let a vet dissuade you, insist that it be done. If you have any other questions you can contact me directly at satman@yorkies.com.
