| ok what do you think? Ok well a few days ago I was talking to my neigbhor, while I was letting my Princess go potty outside. She asked how much spent on Princess so I told her 1000. we are friends I didnt think anything of it then she told me that I was crazy and she could have found a lot better things to do with a 1000. dollars than buy a dog. I was affended just because she knew how much I love my animals ,they are my family and I would have spent more if I had it, anyhow I told her well its my money and Princess was my birthday present, mothers day present, and also my christmas. She then said but I still would rather go shopping with money like that I said ok well thats u and we are to different people and live 2 different life styles do you think this was rude of me to say cause she has not spoken to me since? so what do you all at yt think?

| IMO, it's her loss. For not having a wonderful Yorkie in her life and for not having you as a friend. She sounds kinda shallow. Move past in and spend more time here with your friends.

| I think if anything she was being a little rude to you with her comment in the first place. I don't think it was rude of you to say you have differing opinions on how to spend your money. Hopefully she will come around and talk to you soon.....

| I hear ya... Why is that the first thing out of everyones mouth??? I have a 10 wk old puppy...and my friends and neighbors all want to know what I paid. Why is that important to them...??? I dont ask her how much her new necklace cost...etc...lol Can't folks just be happy for someone??? Or ask..where did you get her from? How adorable??? No..you weren't rude..but don't be defensive...Some folks just dont' understand us Yorkie Lovers...and thats o.k.... We are happy and the Yorkies are happy and that is all that matters!!

| There was nothing wrong with what you said to her. You should not have to justify why you bought the dog and.....it really is non of her business what you do with YOUR money. Perhaps she is actually jealous that you have such a cute little dog. I believe that I read on here that someones response was to the cost spent on the dog that others spend that much for weeks holiday and a companion animal gives so much more for many years. I have borrowed that line to shut others up....lol My neighbour admitted that she was very jealous of my having Mya, well her husband did as she stopped talking to me. I found them an affordable yorkie puppy from the same breeder.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | People that have never owned a yorkie do not realize how precious they really are. My husband and his family about fell out when I told them how much I had spent. I didn't even tell my husband I was going to buy them, I just came home with them. My husband will tell you know that he wouldn't trade them for the world. Until you've owned a yorkie, you just see numbers and not the over all picture. I think that $1000 is a fair price for a yorkie. My friend's mom said that yorkies were over rated and she would never spend that kind of money on a dog...she now owns one and is looking to get another!

| Whether it was rude depends on the tone in which you spoke. IMO My own mom & extended family think I'm crazy for spending the big bucks on a Yorkie. We paid $350 for our first Yorkie, Mocha, 16 years ago & spent $1200 on Kodah. My family has no problem telling me they could find lots of better ways to spend $1200 (not that they know we paid that for her ) & I in return could say the same thing to them on how they choose to spend some of their money WITH NO HURT FEELINGS. EVERYONE makes choices in life, and we are all DIFFERENT - some people spend lots of money on traveling, cars, clothes, GOLF (hubby), food, etc. If you feel like you were rude in how you spoke to her, just apologize for your tone & LOVE that $1,000 Yorkie to death!!! |

| Well thanks everyone I also think that she is jealous just because my next door neigbhor has 2 yorkies also and for the past few months we have been talking alot matter of fact we just went on vacation for two weeks to florida to visit my mom and go to disney. And my neigbhor with the 2 yorkies took care of my baby princess while we were gone, she was telling me how hard it was going to be giving me back my little girl she became part of there family and my husband and I joked with her about how when we came back home that there was going to be a for sale sign in there yard and they would be gone with our little Princess, lol oh and i also forgot

| I get tired of being asked that all the time to. The first thing they will say is how cute the second is always "how much did you pay for her". When I tell them they are like oh my god thats so much for a dog. I guess the best response to that is " to you its a dog to me its like a member of my family and you dont put a price on family |

| I try to ignore the question about how much I paid or I say, if you are interested they range anywhere from $1000 all the way up to $10,000, but my baby is priceless to me. |

I think she was the rude one and you were just defending your family member. SOme people just dont get it. I personally do not like to tell family or casual friends how much I paid on each of my dogs because I have gotten responses like that too. My parents thinkI am crazy and they voice thier opinion too much. It tick me off becuase the know how important they are. And for goodness sakes I have a dog business- even more reason to spend good money on my babies! My mom loves to quilt and she bought a $20,000 dollar industrial machine that will take forever to pay off. And did I make fun of her- NO. Because she uses it every day and hopes to work fulltime eventually quilting quilts. oh well. I try not to stoop to thier level.

| She's in the wrong. There is someone where I work that thought $500 for a Yorkie, and $400 for a poodle was nuts. Well, I guess your neighbor and my co-worker will never have a yorkie or poodle puppy--and it's thier loss... |
