| I don't know art either but I appreciate it and I don't know who is right and who is wrong but I'll tell you what bothers me is a couple people coming on this forum who have only made a few posts and acting in this manner without proof. Did you come on to sell your work over the holidays?? Forget if you did.

| This is about manners, plain and simple. I have seen this time and time again because somehow people feel they can come onto the internet and all rules are thrown out the window when it comes to social behavior. There is not one person who would tell someone their opinion doesn't count but first you have to build relationships with people to have your opinion be worth anything. How many times have you gone somewhere and met someone new and you really thought their dress was ugly? Did you tell them within the 1st 10 minutes?? or did they become your friend and then you told them later and you both had a good laugh. What if a stranger walked up to you and told you, you had an ugly nose, wouldn't your feelings be hurt? How many times have you met new people and had an ugly opinion about them but never voiced your thoughts to them because it is not the right thing to do. Coming into a new internet chat room is the same as meeting new people in person. It takes awhile before you let people know everything about you and you go slow because you want people to like you. Hopefully you learned a lesson that you can have an opinion but, until you get to know people it is best to keep it to yourself just like you would with a new group of people you met in person.

| Troll would imply that I'm posting flames and accusations without backing up my statements. No proof? Have you read any of what we're saying? Have you clicked on the links? I appreciate that you're all so loyal to your friend. But don't call the kettle black. I'm no troll. I'm here to research a breed of dog and find a sources on where to get one when I'm ready. If you don't believe my opinion on the authenticity of the pictures then so be it. You're as entitled to your opinion as I am to mine. My intentions were good and my beliefs are unchanged. |

But here's how it really is. A person who has lurked on these forums for months finally registers. Not soon afterwards he notices something fishy going on. He voices his opinion about this and it happens to involve a respected member of the community. Understandably people come to their defense and it should be that way between friends. Do I think I made friends by making my concerns known? Apparently not. Do I think people may pay more attention and be more cautious now? Yeah.

I am sorry that you are being treated so rudely here and I do not KNOW who is right or wrong in this situation, but you both seem to have backed up your knowledge and opinions with resources and information which, I, for one, respect. I take a lot of heat on this forum for doing just what you two have done and I can empathize with you. There is something about human nature that creates this phenomenon. I have also been called a troll as are a lot of new members like yourselves who "challenge" something are. Neither of you was rude or attacking but rather respectful and civil in your posts and I respect you for that. I hope that you remain active members and stay unafraid of posting what you believe to be the truth. We need more honest members like you to add to the multitude of honest members we already have. Waistfull~ If you turn out to have been telling the truth here, then I am sure you will receive apologies from those who doubted you, and if you were caught in an indiscretion, I have faith that you too will do the right thing. You are a good person.

| Waistful told me in a pm today she is no longer going to post. I hope she changes her mind. I dont think any of this needed to be bought out in the forum no matter what opinions were it just serves a purpose of being hurtful and unecessary.

| As I understood it, she was selling her art, or at least doing some for others, and if it was not true that it was original art, then that is more than just "hurtful" . Usually , when the truth is not told, there is more harm than just "hurt feelings" and the harm is usually to both the one who was dishonest and the one who was deceived. Very few people are honest ALL THE TIME but we all try to be, and when we make a mistake, we can learn from it. Honesty is so important in society. As soon as we accept it as "no big deal" we have real problems in my opinion. |

Wow talk about guilty until PROVEN innocent - Kim - again.... you made this about you - it's NOT. and I would think with your background you wouldn't be so quick to pass judgement on Waistful. I don't know what's going on but I sure do think this all could have been handled privately. Sometimes.... it's too late for apologies.

I never "past judgment on waistful"....in fact I gave her the benefit of the doubt and let her know that either way this turns out, no one will think less of her, certainly NOT me! There are two very similar situations I can think of where I sure wish these exact kind of matters were "handled privately". As for your accusation that I am somehow "making this about me", we all use our own personal experiences when we post on here, whether we lost a dog, had one have surgery, are suffering financial hardship or the illness of a loved one or ourselves....it is called EMPATHY and there is nothing wrong with empathizing...human beings are made to feel better about different situations with the use of empathy everyday...it is how we relate to one another and realize that we are not alone in this great big scary world.

| Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Actually no Kim. I wasn't attacking you. I just found it strange that you would applaud someone who came on this site and embarrassed someone when it could have been handled off the site. That's why I posted and no other reason. |

| I personally don't know if they were real or if they were computer generated. All, I do know that this day in time a person's word mean's nothing. No one had a right to pull her card VIA the forum, they have PM's for a reason. This isn't a court of law. This is a private forum for fun. I wish people stop using this forum as a public platform to ridicule, and hurt someone. I mean I can find something to say that is hurtful, that might get oooo's and aaaaa's. But, I would still be wrong. It is sad that WE as ADULT's have to be scorned on what's respectful behavior, especially when you would not want this done to YOU!!!!!!! GIVE RESPECT TO GET IT!!!!

fantastic! You should make some money by doing this for others! I for one would be interested. I never wanted money for any of my artwork. I was pm'ed and said I would do this on canvas, but wouldcharge for that. I am going to do 2 paintings. I never meant to start this thread to charge money for something I love to do. I have given three sweaters, personally made to some members here. I love to crochet. Life is too short, I have lupus. I don't want to spend my time defending myself anymore. I will just ignore any posts that seem to call me a liar. I am not. I have gotten many pm's from other members telling me not to pay attention. I will not pay attention to them. I hope all of this will end, and we can go back to posting about our yorkies. That is what this forum is for. I will paint yorkies and crochet sweaters for them and keep doing what I'm doing. I hope everyone will just stop here and start posting some cute pictures, or stories about their pups!!

| I am sort of new to this forum, although have been lurking for a number of months . My hobby is digital art and I use a computer painting program called Painter IX. The program costs over $300 and has a pretty steep learning curve. I enjoy the program and enjoy creating beautiful pictures with it. If someone asked me if I paint, I would have to answer "I digitally paint over photos." If someone asked me to grab a pencil and paper and do a sketch from scratch, I would not be able to do it, although I always wished that I had that talent .There are many artists who use Painter and sell their work as "Prints" under a catagory called "Digital Art". These people are still considered "artists" as it takes a keen eye to know when to add color, adjust color and choose among the thousands of options the above program gives you. If the eye of the beholder see something beautiful and wants to buy it as a "work of art", then that person has the right to do that. I make no bones about what I do and would never claim to have painted a picture from scratch because I can't . I think the issue should not be addressed publicly, and honestly, shouldn't be addressed at all, except maybe in pm's to the lady who might buy the picture of her dog to let her know the warning signs of a painting that wasn't really made from scratch just in case...I recently did some "paint-overs" of some of the pics I found on this forum, but sent them via pm's to the people whose pics I did. I don't sell my work, because I don't believe at this point I am good enough to do that. If and when I do, I will sell them as "Paint-overs" and not original works. I think that was the major issue and it should be addressed privately, if not at all. There is no way a person can digitally alter a photo with a paint program, and print it out on canvas and make it look like it was painted from scratch. They would have to print the photo out on canvas (which they can do), and then use regular paints on the canvas to make it look original. If they do that, and it looks good, then glory to them and they deserve to sell their work . |
