Tatertot - You are not alone! Piccolo and I love this thread and it has been great getting to know everyone. I left you a note on your profile page, but will ask the same question again. Is this the weekend you get Bandit or is it next weekend? We can't wait to hear all about it! :) Lindabjk - It sounds like you have been very busy. Wow! Hope all goes smoothly for you. Lisa and Piccolo |
I'm still here too:D!! Yes countdown for Lindabjk and Tatertot.....what is it about 8 days or so???!! Oh I'm sure you guys just can't wait!! I love our OIK thread. It is fun keeping up with how every one is doing:)! Then we will feel like we know everybody already when we finally meet in the fall;)!!! Lisa is Piccolo still limping or has it settled down? Did you say Piccolo is 3? Have a good weekend everybody! |
I brought Wennie home today. Here is my question. I started immediately on Nutri-cal before we even left the breeders. She was great on the 2.5 hour ride home, sleeping a lot. At home we played for awhile and she would take another nap. And would play again. Now she is sleeping again and has for about the past hour. I gave her another dose of Nutri-cal over an hour ago just to be sure. Is this normal puppy behavior for the first day. It has been so long since I have had a puppy around and with all the stories of hypoglycemia I just want to make sure that everything is normal. When she plays she is bright eyed and bushy tail, ready to take on the world. She has played most of the afternoon and evening with the girls besides her little cat naps. I'm just a worried new momma. |
She has also eaten a little bit since we got home, not a whole lot. That was about 3:30. She has drank water and has done a #1 and #2 with no problems. I posted this on the Health thread too just in case. I thought I would ask here first though. |
Congratulations!! Boy what a big day it is for you today!!:) Winston did sleep a lot when we first brought him home.....the same regimine as Wennie play and sleep etc. I am not knowledgeble on the nutrical, but from being a member on yt I see that a lot to keep them from getting hypoglycemic. I just fed Winston with regular puppy Eukabana and he did fine, no hypoglycemia. We fed 3 meals a day and made sure he wasn't stretched out too long without eating. Again Congratulations! If you get a chance, we would love to see a homecoming picture! |
I don't know whether to be worried or not. She is so tiny. Less than 2 and a half pounds. Part of me I believe is just being a worry wart. Thanks for replying so quick. I will post some pictures soon. I think I am going to have my hands quite full though for the next few days.;) |

Lisa K. - You asked about Piccolo..... She is not limping anymore, so that is good news. But, she will always have the LP, until the vet tells me she is ready for surgery. I'm not sure when that will happen. Thanks for asking. Also, she is 3 years old. aerilla - Yea! Wennie is home! It sounds like she is doing well. Keep us posted on her activities and sorry I do not have knowledge of Nutri-cal. Lisa and Piccolo |
I posted yesterday about my pups not needing the nurta-cal. thank god we had some. We had a scare with Meaty today. He was acting funny all day, sleeping constantly and wobbly when he walked. We started thinking about it, and we had been giving him treats when he goes potty outside. Well, we realized that he ate none of his food yesterday only treats. they don't have the calories or the nurtition he needs. We did some research on how he was acting and we had the nurta-cal on hand and gave him some. About an hour later he is getting back to his old self. So aerialla by all means if your unsure give your pup the nutra-cal. |
Hi all, I am from Ohio. My name is Brandy and I live in downtown Sandusky. Congratulations to all of you who are getting your new puppies !! It's such an exciting time! Good luck to all of you new Yorkie Parents:) I have a little boy Yorkie names Jeter who is 7 months old now. I got him at 9weeks old. He was also only 1 pound 2 ounces when i brought him home and now at 7 months old he is 2 pounds 5 ounces. His vet said he is not going to be the 4 pounds he was thought to reach, instead he might hit 3 pounds so he is a tiny one. My breeder did recommend that I keep Nutra cal on hand in the fridge just in case we should need it. When my mother and I are able to start breeding our Yorkies, we are going to have Nutri cal in our puppy package for all new parents to have. I have used it on Jeter a few times when he wouldn't eat just to be on the safe side. |
Hi adorame!! Wow Jeter is going to be a tiny one isn't he!? Winston is 7 months old too and weighs about 3.4 currently. I am guessing he will probably be about 4 pounds full grown. His father was that size. Jeter is a really cute name! |
Hi Adorame... Welcome to this thread. It looks like you have been on YT way longer than I have been. Wow! Lots of posts. Piccolo and I think your Jeter is very cute. Lisa K. - Love your new picture of Winston. Lisa and Piccolo |
4 Attachment(s) Hi everyone! My husband I took Piccolo on an outing to Devou Park yesterday. We had a great time. Devou Park is in Covington, Ky., and overlooks downtown Cincinnati. I am going to attempt to attach pictures of this outing. Piccolo had a great time riding in my husband's old Ford car and she even sat in the Park Ranger's lap at one point. Lisa and Piccolo |
I'm so far behind, please forgive if I miss anyone. Lisa, I'm so sorry that your baby has LP :( I pray that it won't progress and that she'll never have to have the surgery. aerialla, for the first month that Abby was home (she's only been home for about 5 weeks now) We gave her Nutracal several times a day. She only weighed 1.5lbs when we brought her home and still doesn't weigh 2.5 lbs yet. She's very tiny. If nothing else, squirt a ribbon of the Nutracal across the top of her food everytime she eats, that way she has both. I'd love to see a picture of her :) Lisa K, OMGosh, I bet you were scared half to death! I have such a fear of that. After what happened to Peanut, I TRY to be extra vigilant, but they are sneaky little boogers. |

Piccolo is such a beauty :) My Father in law restores old, vintage (whatever the proper name is  ) cars. He really enjoys it. Have you ever heard of the Frog Follies? It's a car show they have here in Evansville at the 4H center. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of cars there each year in August. If your husband ever decides to come to the FF, let me know. I only live a few miles from there!! :) Tammy |

Jeter was the smallest boy out of a litter of 4, his one sister was his size while his brother was double their size. The other girl in the litter was just a bit bigger then Jeter. Jeter's dad is 4 pounds and his mom is 5 to 5 1/2 pounds. His parents had a litter before Jeter's and the pups stayed at about 4to 5 pounds range. Other than having a case of Coccidia a few weeks after he came home, he has been very healthy. |
Oh I love the Lord Winston of Yorkshire Manor:D!! Makes him sound very important, doesn't it;)!!! Honestly, my son Evan who is 16 and I searched and searched for the perfect name. The other dogs we have named we just did and didn't put too much effort into it. He wanted an English name and it was the one we finally decided ! Winston went to the vet today with his brothers, tee hee, and the vet thought he is about full grown now. His parents were about the same weights as Jeter's. It is funny how they all are different in size isn't it?? I used to think our cat was the light one 6 pounds shih tzus are 16.5, but today the cat felt heavy with little Winston along!! He is going to have his baby teeth removed Friday. |
Lisa...I hope Pic is doing well. I love the pictures of her. Adoreme and Jeter Welcome Tammy...So far I've been trying to give her about 1/2 tsp of Nutrical a day, she eats it right off my finger. I'm going to keep giving it to her just in case. Our first vet appt is on Thurs so I want to cover my basis until then. Luckily the shivering has gotten a lot better. Winston...Wennie is on Eukanuba too...her breeder said she fed both Iams and Eukanuba. The puppy formula is so tiny and Wennie seems to love it. It's funny to watch her pull out just one of the tiny pieces to eat. deanne...I hope Meaty is doing ok now. Tater...if you get to read this hello. I hope Bandit is well. |

Piccolo is a cutie too!! cute name too;) |
Tammy - I asked my husband about the Frog Follies. He does not know anything about it, but we will look it up on the web. It sounds like fun. What kind of cars does your FIL like to restore? Lisa K. - I agree with you, the Cincinnati riverfront is beautiful. I have not been to the Serpentine Wall since they held the Seafood Festival there. I'll have to go back soon. It sounds like you used to live in Cincinnati. adorame - Isn't it funny how we have all found YT in different ways? I found it through a google search for something else and knew I had to join right then! aerialla - So how is Wennie doing? Tatertot15 - How many more days? Have a great Tuesday everyone! Lisa and Piccolo |
Lisa and Pic.....yes I think you need to bring Piccolo, your Hubby, and your Ford Car to the Frog Follies!! It is right near MyPeanutAbbyGrace's House like she said, and it is also always on my birthday weekend!! mybday is Aug 28. It seems like we go to Cincy a lot on that weekend, because I64 and I71 are just filled with the old cars and are so fun to see! We would be sure to stay here this year though if Piccolo made a visit;)!! Yes grew up in Cincinnati...moved to Lawrenceburg in 10th grade graduated from East Central! Good Tuesday to everyone else!!!:) |
.......... Lisa, the pics in the park are great!!! We have sat on that side of the river MANY times for the fireworks. The city makes a great backdrop for them!! I haven't been "riverside" for a few years, but I know that the "Levy" area has really been improved and is really nice now. Thanks for sharing the pics!! :) |
Good Morning Gals :) Let's see where to begin... Lisa, I'm not sure what kind they are, they are just old. He's had some beauties though. I will ask my husband. He has two different ones he's restoring right now. Tony and I took the girls to the airfied last night. While Tony was flying, I visited with all the folks that hang out at the club house. They were all loving on Abby and Daisy. One older man said, "she's an angel" talking about Abby. Isnt' that sweet? They sure got lots of attention. Daisy couldn't stand it when she couldn't see her Daddy. She is such a Daddy's girl. On a sad note :( My son works at a pizza place and he tells me about an old man that comes in there all the time and talks about his little dog, Sparky. Sparky was a 3 yr. old rat terrier. Over the weekend this man (his name is Ron) came in and told Tony (my son's name is Tony too) that Sparky had a heart attack and died. Ron was in tears. Tony said it nearly brought him to tears as well. Anyway, long story short, I'm trying to find Ron a dog. Our son talked to him about it and he said he'd love it if I could find him one. He's in poor health, so he needs one that is a bit older and calmer. My heart is just broken thinking about this poor man, who won't even go home by himself because he misses Sparky so much. He's having Sparky cremated and said he wants his ashes buried with him. I was a blubbering mess last night thinking about him. He has a wife...thank God, but she volunteers a lot her time at a nursery, so he has a lot of free time on his hands. Today he has to go to the hospital for some tests. He told my son "If they don't keep me, I'd love it if your Mama could find me a puppy" So that's my chore for today or until I find the right dog for Ron. PLEASE say a prayer for all us that the perfect dog comes along. This is such a busy month for us! Today is our granddaughter's birthday, she's 4. and my nephew, turns 7 today. On the 13th one of our daughters turns 25 and on the 15th another will be 22 and then on the 20th my neice turns 10! Also the daughter who turns 25 this month graduates from college on Friday and the one who turns 22 just got married on Leap Day and were having her wedding celebration on June 7, so I'm preparing for that as well this month. Plus there's Mother's Day on Sunday! Lord, help me! I need a small fortune, lots of energy and time ;) We're also doing some home improvement projects that I seem to be in charge of. We're having all our hardwood floors refinished, new flooring laid in the kitchen and bathroom, complete remodel in the bathroom, new windows (I can't believe I just spent all that time washing the old windows ;) ) and all new appliances. Plus we're having some outside work done, like trees trimmed, etc.., that doesn't bother me as long as they are outside. I'm not actually doing the work, but I'm getting all the estimates and I'm in charge of robbing the bank ;) :D So we've got people coming to give us estimates almost every night next week and one night this week. Lisa K, I may be coming to Boonville to take lots of walks while the work is going on. I can't have the girls here while they are doing a lot of the work. For one, I'm afraid Daisy will make a run for it with people going in and out the back door and we definietly can't be here while the hardwoods are being refinished. Whew that's a new record for length of a post for me! I hope everyone has a good day today! :) |
4 Attachment(s) I actually started to post just so I could show you all some new pictures of Abby and Daisy. OOPS! Here they are :) 1. This one is really fuzzy, but it's so rare that I can get them to both look at me at the same time, I had to post it. 2. Daisy loves my flower beds. She goes in and out of all the plants, sniffing and exploring. She got completely underneath some hostas the other day. 3. I wish this one would have came out more clearly too, but I'm a sucker for the tongue pictures. :p 4. Here's Abby trying to take Daisy for a walk! |
Hey everyone!! I havent posted in a while....I've been caught up with the GE. been buying all kinds of stuff. Anyways, wanted to check in and catch up on everyone and let you all know I only have 2 MORE DAYS and I'm picking up Bandit!!!! WOOO HOOO!!!!! I'm so excited!! I'll post pics as soon as I can!! :D:D:D:D |
Congrats Ashley! I remember just how excited I was to bring Abby home. It is such a fun and exciting time :) This is also a wonderful time of year, since it's warm and you can take Bandit outside more. Pottytraining him should be easy right now. Well, within reason ;) Enjoy him and be sure to show us lots of pictures!! Tammy |
