Hey everyone!! Man was I busy this weekend!! It was not a good weekend to move with all that rain.... We Finally got our bed over to our place on Saturday. I am loving this....doing what I want when I want lol....It feels good to have my own place. Bandit is having a rough time with it....its like we are potty training him all over again. He'll catch on soon I hope. I'm just happy I get to decorate the way I want and walking in and saying this is all mine lol....sounds goofy but its true lol. Oh and so everyone knows....I dont have the internet at my house yet....They'll be over to hook it up on Friday between 11-4....i'm sure you've all heard that story before lol. I cant believe they are taking a week and a half to get out to me....so in the mean time we dont even have cable. At least we have a ton of movies.

Anyways me and hubby are going to go to Bark in the Park!! We havent gotten our tickets yet though. How many of you are going?? That would be so cool to see everyone at the game!!

I got so sun burned on my face. REmember alittle thing called sun screen ya for the kids but forget to put in on myself .

It is great to hear about all the babies and they are all doing well.
My daughter gave birth to a boy 6-18th zt 2am. She is 20 years old she had dropped her boy friend and she made a decision to give the baby to a friend of our family, who have been trying to have children for 10 years. They were told they could never have children. She felt it was terrrible for her to raise a child on her own struggling to pay her bills and go to school. When she knew someone who would make wonderful parents and wanted a baby so much.
I have felt torn by this decision but the adoptive parents are allowing us to be in little Roe's life. I have been praying this was God's a will and a chance for her to make something out of her life. I made her come home with me and have tried to spend some quality time with her. I have felt numb. She knew we would have been behind her if she had kept the baby, she felt this was how it was supposed to work out all along. The father told her he absolutely didn't want to have anything with her or the baby. That hurt her very much.
I have been so worried about Davey. My pups are 6 weeks old now. They are all doing great. I love watching them. I love watching all the new babies in our life right now.

I can see were you would be torn about your daughter's decision about the baby. I think if I was in that position I would have mixed feelings too. I also feel that it is a very nice gift of love she was able to give someone!

My sister in law adopted 2 little boy's ( they are brothers) when they were 2 and 3 but had them since they were 1 and 2. They were in another foster home from birth though. Their birth Mother thought real hard about having them adopted out, she wanted to do what was best for the boy's. One has Cerebral Palsy and he thrived in my sister's care ( he actually started to walk at age 2 after only being with them for 2 weeks! she refused to just put him in the exersauser like the other foster mom would do) we are all very thankful for her selfless act and just adore the boy's. My sister in law has a few playdates a year for her to still see the boy's too. They are now 5 and 6 and they know she is their birth mom.

I know what you mean and it's OK to feel so happy to have your OWN place:) We rented a town house for 10 years before we bought our home 2 years ago! Before that we rented an apartment for 3 years! I am sooo thrilled to decorate things MY way!!! My house is very old, it's over 100 years old and it still has old electric wire in parts of it that we are updating:eek: I'm remodeling our kitchen right now and it's horrible picking out the flooring and cabinets right now! I like 3 different looks:rolleyes: Also sice we are getting the 2 puppies soon, I wanted my front porch puppy proof so that is what we are doing right now! I got the paint for the floor (black) and I am so glad I OWN my house to be able to fix it the way I want!

deanne 07-07-2008 06:59 AM

how are everyones babies with pools and swimming? We can't keep Reno out of the pool when we are in there. I think I am going to have to put up some sort of barrier.:)

Lisa and Pic 07-07-2008 07:34 AM

Shelby and Seymour - I would love to have a meet-up this fall. Do you have a tentative date picked out? My husband does not camp, but we would still like to come. We could come for the day or stay nearby. :) The first, third, or fourth weekend in October all work for us.

We also took the Jet Express to Put-in-Bay and stayed in a Bed and Breakfast. We saw the fireworks in the bay on the 4th. It is so dog friendly there...wish I had known.

Janie - How cool to go to Put-in-Bay for New Years! :D

Little Lady - Glad to hear that you will be able to be part of little Roe's life.
I'm sure your daughter's decision was very difficult.

Tammy - How is the bathroom coming?

Ashley - Having your own place is so wonderful. Glad you are having fun. Also, glad to hear you are going to the Reds Pet Day. We plan on going also. I left a message for Lisa K. about possibly ordering tickets, so we could all sit together. Wouldn't that be fun?

Bark in the Park

Hello everyone! I have been talking to Lisa K. about the Bark in the Park on September 17. She came up with this wonderful idea of attending the game with our furbabies! :D We would love for everyone to attend. The cost is $22 for one human ticket and one pet ticket.

Lisa posted the link on #561 on this thread. I'm going to try and post it again. Lol.

Bark in the Park | Reds.com: Tickets

Anyway, we were hoping to order tickets together, so we could sit together. However, after looking at this link carefully, the Reds are asking for a lot of personal information from each dog owner. So, it would probably be best for each of us to order our own tickets. It sounds like Ashley, Lisa K. and myself are going to attend with our furbabies. Let us know if you are coming, so we can all get together and have a little "doggie" fun! :animal36 Thanks!

Yorkie mom needs info

Hi everyone,
It's been a few weeks since I was last here. But my Ted is in a nearby vet hospital with pancreatitis. He was in the ER hospital last night and I picked him up this am. He was to go directly to his vet for additional iv/meds, but my vet is gone!!! Then Ted decided to lick his catheter out of his tiny wittle arm and blood was everywhere.
He is now cleaned up and on IV's but...I am going nuts trying to figure out where he became ill. He receives NO people food: cheese, dairy, meat, etc.
His spot's stew for dogs and an organic tomatoe for treats, is ALL he gets for food. Ever.

We have a baby bunny in the back yard. Could Ted have eaten some of the bunny poo and became ill? My other two pets became sick too. But are ok. I also wonder could it be the food? I hear PETCO in this area had a huge problem with their distribution center in Joliet and severe contamination of foods.
Can a yorkie just get sick from nothing??? Thanks for all your help. B. :aimeeyork

I was going to order my tickets a couple weeks ago but didnt because Bandit didnt have all his shots so i'll be ordering them as soon as I get paid again hopefully....with just moving the money is tight lol....I'm sure you all know what i'm talking about.

Janie Doyle 07-07-2008 02:22 PM

Lisa we are also staying in a bed and breakfast for their New Year Eve weekend in September at Put in Bay. Which B&B did you stay at ?

Janie

Lisa and Pic 07-07-2008 02:35 PM

Janie - So they are having a New Years party in September? That sounds like fun. I guess it is like Christmas in July up there. We stayed in a place with the name "Pines" in it. I will send you the exact name on your page tomorrow. We did go by a lot of B and B's and they all looked nice. Also, are you planning to go to the Bark in the Park?

BarbaraM - You asked if any one on here had experience with Pancreatitis. Piccolo had it almost two years ago. Poor thing. I also do not feed her any table scraps. What I think happened is that it was around Thanksgiving and I made a turkey. I think either something dropped on the floor or she got it from licking the towels I threw down the steps after the clean up. Turkey is supposed to be a big cause of Pancreatitis. Piccolo was in the emergency hospital for three days with IVs. Very scary. I kept going to visit her at the hospital. It was weird for her to be in there on Thanksgiving Day. :( I was like you, I kept thinking and thinking about what could have caused the problem. She has not had it again and I am very, very careful when I prepare food now, to make sure nothing falls on the floor.

Lisa and Pic 07-08-2008 06:41 AM

Deanne - So Reno loves your pool! That's so sweet.

Ashley - Bandit is so cute. He is getting to be such a big boy!

Brandy - What great pictures. I love the one of Yumi Yashi walking!

We ordered our tickets for the Bark in the Park. Yea! Piccolo, my husband, and myself are coming. Also, Donna and her husband (Morkie1) with Sam and Annie, and my daughter with Poquito. I can't wait to meet everyone in person at the game. Won't this be fun? :D

MyPeanutAbbyGra 07-08-2008 06:53 AM

Hi everyone :)
As usual, I'm late on catching up with everyone.
Thank You for remembering my birthday Lisa :) I did indeed have a nice birthday.

Our bathroom is coming along and it snow at least functional! YEAH! :cheer: Oh the things we take for granted. I will be forever grateful for indoor plumbing :D

Lane was hospitalized 2 days ago for being severely jaundice. He's recovering quite nicely and will most likely get to come home again today! I hope this time he stays and doesn't have to return to the hospital. He is such a beautiful baby. Seeing him in the hospital the other night brought tears to my eyes, mostly because he is so precious, but it was unsettling to know he was ill.

Ashley, Bandit is just adorable! He truly is :) How old is he? How much does he weigh now?

Big  to everyone!
Tammy, Abby and Daisy Mae

One more thing......
We are considering Bark in the Park! :)

tatertot15 07-08-2008 07:55 AM

Bandit is now 17 weeks old and he was 2.4 lbs about 2 weeks ago when we weighed him. He is definately going to stay small....but its so funny that he just keeps getting taller and longer....its like everytime I look at him he's bigger....but he is still so light lol its amazing to me how they can grow like that and not actually gain much weight. Our vet said that he is one of the healthiest and best taken care of animals he has seen in a long time....the vets love him.

Her name is Jezebel but she is calling her Jezzie. She brought her over and Jeter acted kind of scared of her LOL She is 10 weeks old and Jeter is 9 months , not much of a size difference when you see hem together. It's weird seeing him next to a younger puppy and him not much bigger, I can't wait till I have Axl and Yumi Yasha all home with me I wonder how Jeter will like them:D Here are a few pictures I took last night of Jeter meeting Jezzie

I can't remember how much Abby weighed at 17 weeks. I'm thinking around 3.5 lbs. I think she's around 4 lbs now. She looks so tiny to me! Well, compared to Daisy, she is. Daisy is nearly 9 lbs.

I bet Bandit is 2 lbs of Love!

We are getting a li'l boy from a different breeder that were we are getting Yumi Yasha from. Her li'l boy was not available for us when I called her about him. My husband and boy's were so wanting him and had gotten their hopes up on him so when we found out someone bought him that Sunday, my hubby told me to look for a new boy too:D I was thinking that I would get #3 next spring, not this summer! I am going to be in puppy heaven:p

Axl was born here in my town on May 29 and Yumi Yasha comes from Southern Ohio and she was born June 9th ( I think that is what we were told, I'll have to check on that) I was told that Axl will most likely be coming home end of July if his vet gives him the OK, and Yumi Yasha won't be ready till the second weekend of August. I am loving getting things ready for them! I LOVE to shop;)

:D:DOk everyone....we need to start the planning of our meet-up. Ok so I just got off the phone with Harbin Park in Fairfield....Its a beautiful park. And the shelter that I want is only available on Saturday September 20th. This is the only shelter that is kinda away from the others so we wouldnt have to worry about being in the middle everyone. Now if we want to have it in August or October I can call back and see what dates are available but I highly doubt it will be available in August. I'm not sure what the weather is going to do once October hits so September is a good month....I only know because my birthday is on the 29th and thats where I used to have all my birthday parties as a kid lol. Anyways....I'll get into more details after we get this part settled. I did look into the voice of america park and I do not think it would be good at all because its a very small area and there is no shelters its just gated a field, so I hope you all agree that this would not be a good place. So let me know your feelings on this!!:D:D

MyPeanutAbbyGra 07-09-2008 11:52 AM

Ashley, I think that sounds great! Whatever you think is best, go for it!
Sept. 20 will work for us as far as I know. My daughter's birthday is the 24, not to far from yours. She'll be 25 this year.

So do you want us to bring side dishes, meat, drinks, lawn chairs, table cloths...or would it be better to send you $10-$15 and let you buy the paper plates, utensils, cups, etc..and each of bring a side dish in addition to that?
Whatever is easiest for you. Even though I don't live near there, I can always stop at a grocery when I get there or send money to someone close and have them do it for me.

You just tell us what you want.

If anyone has xpens it would be nice to have for the furbabies. Gosh I hope Daisy does OK around other dogs

I just realized that's only a few days after bark in the park.

tatertot15 07-09-2008 12:58 PM

Everyone that will attend our meet-up in Fairfield, Ohio on September 20th needs to reply to this and answer these questions:

What is your name?

What is your furbutts names?

How many people will be attending including yourself?

How many cute furbutts will be with your group?

What side dish are you bringing?

Ok so I guess this is how it will work:

In order to come you will need to send me $15 per family. (Any left over cost will be put toward gifts for the furbutts, if there is any left over) Send me a PM after replying and I'll reply with my address for you to send the money, and I will also provide Harbin Parks address.

Everyone will need to bring a side dish. See what others are bringing so we dont have repeats.

I will be bringing my grill so we can have hamburgers and hot dogs.

Just so everyone knows I have already reserved the shelter for us, I have already paid for it so there is no changing the date.

Things to bring with you: You can bring chairs with you if you want to sit in the sun but there are picnic tables under the shelter, x-pen (if you have one), all dogs have to be on a leash otherwise. Bring doggie waste bags with you to clean up after your little ones.

It would be best if everyone brought their own drinks so that way everyone gets what they want, so make sure you have a cooler and ice.

Make sure to bring a water and food along with bowls for your furbutts.

If anyone needs to get a hotel room and would like help let me know, I'll direct you to the ones that are close.

Also if anyone would like to set up a vendor table please feel free to do so, I know I would love to have a chance to buy some stuff and not worry about shipping :D If you have clothes that dont fit your babies anymore or just want to sell them bring them with you and see if anyone else would want to buy them.

Oh and one more big thing!! Bring your camera's!! :D

Just so everyone knows, I do not suggest using mapquest to get directions....I use googlemaps.com it is much more accurate, at least around here.

I hope to be hearing from all of you very soon!!

If I missed anything i'll post an update!!
