| ![]() The colour issue really is that a Yorkie puppy for colour should be born black and tan undergoing change as it matures. It sometimes stays black and tan, or changes to shades of blue, tan changing to shades of tan or gold. When you are talking aobut parti colour or gold or chocolate, these are not born black and tan, they are born wrong colour from the get go. |

Whether I work to better the "Breed' which I believe is impossible, or to better my own line, or to work towards developing a better parti colored yorkie, I am still doing it for the better. Not all backyard breeders, or in my case back "bedroom breeders" are in it just for the money. It is a hobby, and we enjoy doing it, and if there are people out there who love and want what we produce, what is the harm as long as they are healthy, loving dogs. They are not a threat to the breed, we are not going to "ruin' the breed and we may eventually end up with our own breed club with our own standards, just like they did with the Biewers in Germany. And for those of you who would say "that will NEVER happen", Never say Never. It can happen and it most likely will happen at some time in the future.

I have no worries if parti's or Biewers want to start their own breed as Biewer Terriers but they are not rare Yorkie colours. I think that was the point of trying to be sure that someone who wants to buy a chocolate, gold, parti /Biewer knows what they are getting and it is not something rare and not desirable colour for the Yorkshire Terrier.

| ![]() Do you know that for a fact, have you seen it? I believe nothing that I hear and only 50% of what I see.

| ![]() Betty Anne Durrer is a good friend of mine, likely away at a show. I will be phoning her on that one when she is back again and let her know you think one of hers has produced parti colour. |

| ![]() As I recall YTCA has been helpful to the Biewer people in US get their own Club and breed recognized. I think if you check around the Biewer people who fancy the Biewer breed want them to be Biewer Terriers not a wrong colour of another breed, being the Yorkshire Terrier. As I understand it from the Biewer people they are not partial to the parti colour term either as a name for the dog, they prefer Biewer. |

If a dog from any line is producing large numbers of incorrect colored yorkies then a responsible breeder would have it spayed or neutered and place it, but not every dog from a line will be such a producer. We breed for show quality dogs. We are not saying that things like this have never happened to a show breeder, but we do not try to capitalize on it and sell them as "rare" to the unsuspecting public and we do not try to accomplish these type of results on purpose. The Durrer line has a great reputation and that will not faulter over things like this being said. ![]() Sonja www.tx2stepnyorkies.com

| ![]() I am on the West Coast of Canada. I own a Durrer dog now in the show rings. My lines have a lot of Durrer behind them. I have yet to see a parti colour and Betty Anne, as I mentioned before is a friend of mine and I am so lucky to know her. She is the most gracious and helpful show breeder I know of and I value knowing her. |
