My furkids Donating Member | I just wanted to add, not only do some towns/cities have a ban on this breed but, most homeowner insurances will cancel your policy if you own one. Pits (not being the only breed) is breed that insurances won't cover. They are considered high risk. If you are a homeowner I would check with your agent. I know there are agencies that will cover this breed of dog (as well as other high risk breeds) but, you pay a fortune for it.

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | ^I'm so sorry that happened. But not all pits will turn on you. We hear more bad than good about pits. The truth is, they are one of the sweetest breeds ever. But they also are VERY powerful and act on instinct. It needs to be something you feel comfortable with, but I say go for it. Make sure that you research every potential breeder carefully and look back on the puppies' lines. Socialize the puppy as much as you can. Pit bulls aren't bad dogs. They just are very powerful and their power needs to be respected - not tested. Good luck!

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | Sorry, I think that's really, really stupid. I understand why, but it's wrong, IMO. what about the people who already owned them when that became a law?
