I am SO feeling for you! :(

Thoughts and prayers in abundance for the safe return of your baby. He is lucky to have your stolid determination going for him. Keep the faith.

One of the sites I posted an add for Zeke is petfinder.com I had never heard of it before but I guess it was the site most utilized after the wake of Katrina. The coordinator of this program called me a few days after I posted the add for Zeke. He told me about a service they offer, they take your address and for a fee they will call every home within 10 to 50 blocks away. The purpose of these calls is to make more people aware of your missing pet and to maybe hit that house that he is being kept in. I purchased the 50 blocks. They called this morning to update me and said they were halfway through the list. I wasn't 100% sure that this wasn't a scam but I will try anything. So I guess the moral to this unneccessarily long story is have any of you heard of this site?

I do have reward on the fliers and in each add but I did not designate an amount.

Shadow 06-23-2007 10:15 AM

I think I would put the amount if it is say 500 plus, maybe that would be a inncentive for someone who has him to return him. IDK that is just my opinion.I have never heard of this service you mentioned above.

TLC 06-23-2007 10:25 AM

Yes, www.petfinder.com is extremely popular. Is this offered through petfinder???

Did you put on your fliers that: He Needs Medicine EVERY DAY

Donna Jean 06-23-2007 10:52 AM

Pet Finder

Pet Finder is on the up and up, and a 50 house call is great!!!! I hope you are also offering a reward so if he is in one of the houses, they will want the money more than the dog, and other people that they call will also want to keep an eye out for a new yorkie in the neighborhood that is not a puppy, and can turn in the people who have him, to make it worth their while, little kids are always running around and looking for ways to make extra money, that would give them great incentive!!!

You are still in my prayers to have him returned or for him to find his way home, I think you are really putting pressure on the people who stole him by not giving up, and hopefully they will feel they will be caught and turn him in for the reward!!! If you have offered one!

Radio Stations post for free, try to make sure they are all aware of the situation, and will also remind people to be on the look out for a stolen yorkie, in your neighbor hood, with a description, and again a reward, it will also help other people who have small dogs to know that there is a chance they can be stolen out of their yard, and hopefully they will keep a close watch on their beloved babies!

Yes you can choose 10, 20, 30, or 50 blocks. It takes them 2 to 4 days to get all the calls made. I thought it sounded good.

TLC 06-23-2007 11:19 AM

I am with you, I'd take a chance at anything ;)

I am always praying for Zeke's safe return. God Bless you.

Kodak 06-23-2007 11:31 AM

Prayers going out for you to get your dog back safely. :(

Petfinder might be different, but I found this on a scambusting website. PM if you would like more details, but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post a site or not.

PET RECOVERY SERVICES THAT SOLICIT

There are illegitimate individuals who call owners of missing pets and claim to conduct searches employing various methods, most often calling neighbors and alerting them to "be on the lookout for the pet."

Some may actually do what they claim, but our 28-years of experience is that a "red flag" should go up, when they call you (most often because the pet owner ran a lost pet classified ad).

We advise that, if the service appears of value (calling neighbors is all but useless, compared to putting up flyers), take their phone number and call them back before signing up. Also, ask your local shelter, as well as the BBB if they have knowledge of the organization/company. Finally, are they nonprofit? If they claim they are, ask for their tax-exempt number.

We are also happy to give you the benefit of our experience in sorting through legitimate services from those that are fraudulent.

Owners of missing pets are vulnerable, and want to try everything to get their pet back. But it exacerbates the stress to get scammed by someone who preys on that very vulnerability.

I am going to the end of the posts in hopes of good news, Please do not give up, I lost my husky, and she was just a little 12 week old puppy, she was in the back yard, and all of a sudden she was gone.
I did everything, and never gave up,never, I got her back 3 months later, she wandered ito town so dirty, that you could not tell if it was her, as she had really grown, but she came back to the place where she was born. And the man that i bought her from said i think i have you dog you have been looking for for the last 3 months. I ran over there, and sure enough it was her, she had been living on her own in the wild, and no one could really get close to her, they thought she was a little coyote, and different people were throwing her left over food, and i guess that is how she survived in the wild for so long. I lived in Aspen and BLM bordered where i lived.

I never quit praying for her safe return, and when i got her back, she went everywhere with me, even to work. She lived to be 22 years old, and was the smartest dog i have ever, ever had.

So hang in there while we all pray for his safe return, i won't give up on the praying, i just feel deep in my gut he will come home!

Your story gives me so much more hope. Even though it is harder each day I will not quit looking. I received a much needed hour of stress free time today... My sister has been looking for the right dog to bring into her family for her four children, I have been checking the shelter daily and the web site hourly and told her about these 8, yep 8 precious black lab puppies. She told me she did not want a puppy that an older dog would make a better fit... Today she came over with 1 of the little girls! She was the sweetest thing ever... Holding her gave me the renewed faith that Zeke will come home... It was a nice day.

You're right! Don't stop looking! I'm so glad you had some relief today! make sure to spend a lot of time with her until you find Zeke. There's nothing more comforting than a cuddly puppy.

wemple2 06-23-2007 10:42 PM

There is nothing I can add to the search, but my prayers that Zeke will be found and he will come home. Who ever has him, for what ever reason...will realize they are wrong, and they will find it in their hearts...or become overwhelmed with quilt...to come clean, someone knows that someone has him...we just have to be persistent and find that someone. This breaks my heart...the reward/no questions asked may be the answer. Good luck, wish Zeke well and home safely.

I'm so sorry to hear your baby is still missing. I just went through this. I know how you feel. I'll keep you and your baby in my thoughts and prayers. Good Luck and don't give up!!!

I am so glad you had a bright spot in your day, you so deserve it! You just hang in their, i prayed, and prayed, and never quit praying, first thing in the morning, and the last thing before I went to bed, i kept the posters up, and Aspen was a small town at that time, and everyone knew every one, so everyone in that town knew my puppy, and knew me. I would be glad to offer you 250.00 if you could ask for a 500.00 dollar reward to get him back , I think you need to keep the pressure on those two women, and when you post a reward, i think it would help alot. I will continue to pray till that little guy comes home, or is returned. pm me if you would like some help with the reward. Know in my gut i feel he will be returned, he remains in my prayers!

To Best Yorkie Owner

Your comment was way out of line, I am glad it was not posted, I feel some bad Karma coming your way!:thumbdown

laurenr 06-24-2007 01:07 PM

I keep checking here every day to see if your little Zeke has been found. I so feel for you. I send you huge hugs and prayers for your baby's safe return. Take comfort in the fact that you have done everything right in conducting your search for him. With all of your efforts, I think there is a really good chance he will come home to you. A friend of mine had her dog missing for over 2 weeks; he has been home with her, safe and sound for months now. He had been found by a lady, who had not seen any of the posters, so she kept the dog, fed him, comforted him, because she knew he had been lost. After 10 days, one of her neighbors told her about a "missing dog" poster, and lo and behold! she called my friend to say she had been caring for her precious baby for the past 14 days!!!
I pray for you that there is someone equally kind out there, who just has not seen or heard your appeals.
Don 't give up!!!:rainbow::rainbow::rainbow:

Donna Jean - I've been home most of the day and have been frequently checking YT. I've seen two threads now where people have said something about contacting admin. Is there someone leaving rude posts today? Not sure how I'm missing them...but is it the same person?

I hope you find Zeke soon. Anymore leads with the people you think might have taken him. Have you tried having someone else call them or anything? I hope he comes back to you!

Donna Jean 06-24-2007 02:04 PM

If they are a member it would show up in the member list there is nothing even close to that name in there. HUH I would have like to see that message. just out of curiosity. But I am glad it was not posted here at all.

that person only joined today and has already been banned. it was probably that other very rude guy setting up a new account. Nodak was his name and he is banned also.

BUT, if you click under his name on the post he made that was deleted, it takes you to his profile which only shows his join date and that he is banned.

MyFairLacy 06-24-2007 02:51 PM

I'm not really sure how to contact admin, but if you click on Members List at the top of the page you can do a member search. Type in admin and search and admin comes up. From there you can PM. I guess that's the only way I know how to do it.

MAKCAI 06-24-2007 02:54 PM
