My baby is missing I need help!
 

On Friday 6/15 at 11am My baby went missing from the corners of Venemen and Den Helder Ave in Modesto. I have gone door to door, I have distributed hundreds of fliers, I have posted large posters at the main intersections, I sent out a large mailing to every Veterinarian, Groomer, Kennel, Pet Store, and Pet Boutique. I have put an add in the paper, and I have posted adds on every lost and found site I can locate. I need help it has been 6 days now and I am worried sick. I am running out of ideas. He has got to be so scared right now and thinking that I have abandoned him. This is killing me. If anyone has seen him, has information about him, or can give me more ideas on what else to try Please contact me. I will not give up the search. His picture is in the gallery.

That's horrible! You must be frantic.

There have been quite a few lost on YT recently, but almost all of them have come home safely. And there have been a few FOUND by YTers as well. Did you check with your local pound or humane office?

I'm so sorry...how did he disappear? Was he in the yard, etc? Where do you live?

I'm so sorry to hear about your baby! This must be so devastating for you! I can not even imagine!

Was he in a fenced in area? How did he get out?

That morning Zeke and My youngest son were swimming. This is why I took off his collar because if I don't his hair gets tangled around it. My older son and I were doing yard work in the back while they swam. I watched him get out and go inside I figured he was finished for now. While I continued trimming the shrubs my son filled the bucket with leaves and went out the gate to dump it. He apparently followed my son out and my son did not notice him and when he came back in Zeke must have been left outside the gate. Moments later we noticed he was not there put 2 and 2 together and ran out front. By this time (not more than 5 min) he was nowhere to be seen. I screamed and yelled up and down the streets but nothing... Then my mail carrier drove up and said she saw two women down the street and they had him. She didnt stop to think that they could be stealing him. I certianly dont blame her because he will go to anyone he loves people. So we dont know if they took him or put him down somewhere. I live in Modesto California.

I know who they are because they were soliciting our neighborhood. I called them and so did the police. This is the letter I mailed to all the Vets, Groomers, Pet Stores...etc...This gives more information.

Hello, my name is Maureen Rocha, on Friday June 15, 2007 at approximately 11am my male Yorkshire Terrier went missing. He was last seen on the corner of Venemen Ave and Den Helder Ave in Modesto. We searched the neighborhood with a fine toothed comb, distributed fliers to every house and posted large banners on street corners. We were then informed that all of our searching might have been in vain. That morning two Hispanic women were soliciting these business cards:








We have a witness that saw these women with my dog. We called the phone numbers on the card and asked if anyone remembered seeing my dog and if so which direction he was headed. The response I received from said women made me very suspicious. She said, “I did not take your dog and if you don’t believe me take me to court.” Why be so defensive? I continued to search even though I had a suspicion that I was not given the truth. I filed a Police report that afternoon and the officer contacted this women. We learned that she had sent two of her employees out soliciting and that she was not with them. The story began to change. First, the women admitted to seeing him but did nothing with him. Then, they admitted to taking him but claim to have given him to one of the homeowners on Dan Helder Ave. With hopes that this was possibly the truth we asked them if they would show us were he was. They agreed. We were to meet on the corner of Dan Helder Ave. and Venemen Ave. in Modesto. They never showed up. The next day they called unexpectedly, informed me that they were on that corner, and if I wanted to see were they left my dog I could come meet them. So I did. I was then given another “story.” This time I was told, they left him between two trees. This is how it has been left. We suspect these women live in Tracy. Both of the phone numbers on the card are Tracy numbers, this is the only information we have. Even with a witness, they claim not to have him and we have no other choice but to concede. I will never give up looking for Zeke. For that reason, I have still gone door to door, handed out hundreds of fliers and put posters on street corners in the hopes these women are telling the truth and that someone knows where Zeke is. I want Zeke back, I never considered him my “dog”, he is one of my children. I miss him so much. If you have any information about Zeke or these women please contact me anytime.

You def. need to get police to track those women down. If they don't and he was my dog I would do it myself. Call the company of the fliers and ask their names and information. They have to have your dog.

I'd press charges and the police should charge them with theft. The value of your dog should make it a substantial crime I think. Maybe the thought of going to jail will get them to return your dog. Please pursue this with the police. Keep us posted, I'm sorry. Big hugs

The police will do no more because we have no physical evidence. The business is housecleaning. I was able to find an old address but I cant find anymore.

Anything over $400.00 is a Felony!

I would go to Tracy with a zillion posters and nail them on everything possible. I'd take them to all the Vets., pet stores and grooming shops and animal shelter. I'd run an ad in their paper and contact the local TV station.
I will send prayers that you get him back.

I am not sure my grandmother passed 2 months before that and my Dad is not sure. He has 2nd a 3rd cousins hes never met and Don could be one but in the light of the situation my Dad didn't want to know.

I think that they have him too.

Did you do a reverse lookup on the phone number? That would give you the address. If it is unlisted or is a cell phone, then you can pay a small fee and get the address from one of many sites on the web.

That is how I got the first address but it is no longer hers. So I will keep searching.

Evidence - Did you not say the someone saw the women with your dog, plus they admitted to it. What more evidence do they need? Seriously. I was married to a police officer, too bad you weren't from around here because I know they'd pursue it further based on that alone, then pass it along to the prosecutor's office to press charges.

Fine, find an attorney and file a civil claim against them or something. Did you offer them a reward? When they return him give them 5 bucks.

I'm praying you find your baby safe and sound.

I spoke with a groomer yesterday that said the same thing so I am gathering as much against them as I can. On their card they advertised Licensed and Bonded well today I was able to prove both are a lie. The city has mailed out documentation proving this woman does NOT have a biasness license or a license to solicit. So if this is all I can prove for now so be it. At least they know I will never let up until I get my Baby back! I may prefer Yorkies but I have the jaws of a pit bull.

Do you have their correct names??....Around here if I have a name I can run it through the real estate property tax office on a web site & it will tell me where they live, that's only going to help if they own a home....

Don't give up, try everything you can think of...go back & make a pest of yourself w/ the police if necessary....
