Most people ask me if Ferdinand is a "teacup" and how much I paid for him. I used to get really annoyed and explain there was no such thing as a "teacup." I finally gave up on that lecture and just started saying "no, he's just a puppy." He's not a puppy anymore though, so I just say "no, he's a standard sized Yorkie." There's no sense in getting irritated about it... I just remember that they're not educated on the topic... if everyone was, no one would be using "teacup" as a term anymore.

People always ask me how much I paid for Hannah. Sometimes I just say "a lot", and sometimes I say "my husband made me promise not to ever tell anyone how much we paid because he thought that people would think we were crazy".

Now I'll call them my little rats sometimes myself, but that just seemed rude. I gave her a mock "hey!" and she said, "That's right, I called them rats!" I just walked away. In retrospect, I should have used your line!
Those are fightin words right there! I woulda bonked her right upside the head and told Chip to bite her! We can call our puppies little rats, but we mean it with affection! That was just WRONG!

I've had a ton of people ask me reasonable questions about Chip and I don't mind answering them... one lady irritated me though. She had 3 older yorkies with her and she acted like she knew EVERYTHING about them. She tried to tell us everything from how to train to where to let him sleep to critcizing us about how we were caring for Chippy. THEN one of her yorkies tried to bite Chip! WTF?! I shoulda told that old woman to "Back off Barbie!"

Some people do -- just curious I suppose 'cause Yorkies are known to be very expensive.

What I really hate is when someone tries to "buy" one of my BABIES on the spot. What I tell those people is: Take all the money you have in your bank accounts, triple it, and you don't have half enough. I usually get a confused look and then a knowing smile -- that is my way of saying NOT FOR SALE, NO WAY!

Ahhh, I get this all the time All I say is, "quite a bit...and worth every penny" I think they get the hint and usually don't say anything else about it afterward I ALWAYS get the "teacup" question though

Every now and then someone will ask me how much I paid for Aubrey, and I try not to tell them the price, because I do not want to be know as the "rich girl, who pays a lot for a dog." So some people I tell, but most of them I just say "enough"

It makes me crazy! This happened to me today but it was my aunt in the middle of a cookout. I answered, "That's personal and none of your business," because like Sukoshi's Mom said my family just doesn't understand. We constantly have to justify why Tucker needs a coat sometimes (aka there are valid reasons that have nothing to do with it being cute) and then we have to hear how expensive dogs are to upkeep and how they can't believe anyone would have a dog since they are so expensive to maintain and you have to pick up poop and ARGH! I then always respond with, "A baby would be WAY more expensive" since they're all hounding me to have human babies. I like your answer though Sukoshi's Mom about, "Worth every penny," because I totally agree.

All the time people ask. My hubby just says, "That's why we named him Max. People just look at him funny, then he explains. His name is Maximillion. After owning 3 furbabies, he's our million dollar baby.

Question Some PPL just don't get it

PPl ask how much I payed for LulaBelle and I just say She was my B~Day gift from my Husband. I had one lady say "WOW he must really love you to get you an expensive dog for you Birthday!" I wanted to punch her in the face!!!! But instead like the lady I am I replied,"Well of course he does, why wouldn't he?!" and I turned and walked away.

I get the Teacup thing on occasion and just say "Teacup Yorkies aren't real. It is a term made up by bad breeders. There isn't a class for teacups in the Yorkie breed." And thats usually the end of it.

When I dress her up I usually get ppl that look at her and say aww how cute. Rarely I am asked " Why do you dress her up? " Well its cold and, her hair is short, besides would you want to walk around naked?!"

As far as worrying about ppl stealing her I am very cautious. PPL know that Yorkies are expensive.

Every once and a while PPL will be rude and act like I am rich and have nothing better to spend my $$$$ on but its my $ and I will spend it on whatever I want! You don't have to be rich to be owned by a Yorkie!
Besides Babies are way more expensive and my Yorkie will never tell me that she hates me! At least thats what I tell the old bitties at church who ask all the time when are you guys gonna have a baby. lol They crack me up but its rude in my opinion to be condescending about a couples child status. You never know about somebody's personal situations. I personally am too young to have a baby right now maybe in a few years.

I don't think I've ever gotten the how much did she cost question unless it was awhile back. I don't think any stranger should ask that question. I can understand family wanting to know and I am very thankful that most of my family is very understanding or doesn't care. I have gotten the rat comment atleast once though. That didn't make me very happy. Family are the only ones allowed to called her a rat and that is only after a bath.

That's exactly how I feel about it! As I said before, I scrimped and saved for my baby, and I have one friend who keeps telling me that I wasted all my money on "that dog" and how "queer" I am for buying him sweaters and hair bows and toys... well I have sacrificed and rather than paying car payments on a new car like he is, and rather than paying student loans (I also scrimped and saved and was lucky enough to pay for college without them) I was able to put my money into something that I really want. It isn't being snooty or flaunting the money that I don't have... everyone saves money and manages to afford what they really really want. I just laugh at him and tell him he is jealous because his cats won't ever love him the way my Paddington loves me... I also tell him he is jealous that I love the dog more than him (we dated for a bit, but ultimately are just best friends) he usually goes away when I tell him that, because I think it's mostly true

I guess I am way too naive when it comes to people stealing him!!! It never corssed my mind that someone could be probing me in order to steal him! I'm so gullible and naive I guess I have to be more careful!!!

This has happened to me while in Petsmart with Jake, and I reply "let's just say he's worth way more to me than what I paid".
