| I know Venus was really pitiful that first day, but was much better the 2ond and 3rd day she was back to her normal self, except with jumping on the sofa. They aren't supposed to climb steps or jump for like a week. Venus was back up on the sofa after about 5 days. I certainly don't remember any problems with her breathing though after her spay. For that, I think your doing the right thing in taking your baby in for checkup. Venus slept a lot, and didn't eat or drink much at all that first night (per vets orders). It can really tear us up to see them looking so pitiful that first night or 2. Thats why my vet will keep them overnight, unless you insist on taking them home. |

| I think you should definately take her back to the vet if she isn't wanting to take food by now & her breathing sounds odd. While you're there ask him about afercare of the wound. Usually they advise you to gently bathe the wound daily with water that's been boiled & cooled with a little salt added to keep it clean & prevent infection. |

| Sure hope she's feeling herself real soon. I know it's tough but try not to worry too much. |

| Poor baby I think taking her back to the vet is an excellent idea. I wonder why they say no food for these babies, they are WAY too small to be fasting for that long. It sounds like she was extremely hungry to me, if it was the bile coming up I hope and pray she's all better fast!

| Brandi has perked up considerably in the past hour or so.....I called the vet......he said not to worry that much about the eating right now....just make sure she gets some nutra-cal in her.....even if I have to put my finger in her mouth and wipe it on her pallate....I told him about the breathing noises and he said it's probably due to the tube that was down her throat :-( .....I know she's feeling better because she ran away from me before and ran down the stairs :-( the vet said he will be in tomorrow if I'm still feeling something isn't right......but he suspects in the next few hours she will definitely pick up....her breathing is MUCH quieter now THANK GOD!!!!! |

| I'm seeing more and more improvement she FINALLY ATE!!!!!!!!!!! and she's walking around and then resting in her bed......and it looks like she's resting comfortably.....I feel so much better...I think she hates me though......and my son keeps telling me she hates me now and will hate me the rest of her life.....she's giving him kisses and when I approach her she just runs away honestly for now as long as she's starting to feel better I'll deal with her not liking me and hope she forgets soon |

| I so know how you feel, as when my Pippa was spayed she too was like this and i bawled for hours!!! I was so scared and was blaming myself for everything and i vowed never to have any more animals (at the time). But your baby will get better day by day and it is the best thing for her in the long run.

| My Vet told me to give her a little honey. Good luck. I have to get Miss Tricksie spayed this month. Not looking forward to it.

| As bad as she feels, at least she's at home with her Mommy and not alone in a cage at the vet's office. Generally if someone (canine or human) is nauseated and/or vomiting, you shouldn't try to have them eat - ice and a little bit of water will be fine as long as she's not showing signs of hypoglycemia. You said you gave her a little Nutrical though, so I wouldn't worry about it.

| She's almost all the way back to her old self tonight.......SHE'S EATING!!!......she's not much of a drinker to begin with but I'm trying to encourage her to drink.......I had her out for a little while.....(in my arms of course) and her breathing seems a lot better....I can see one of her stitches popped.....if it becomes a problem I'll take her to the vet tomorrow.....(though I'd like to keep her away from there)now if she'd just give me kisses like she does with everyone else I'll be happy.....but I'm patient |

| I sure hope everything is better now ... Friday is only 3 months old but I know I am going to have to have this done by 6 months ... I do not remember having a problem with Monday but she did stay at the hospital overnight .... I had a dog sitter stay with her ... I was so nervous .... the only thing I remember was that the vet gave her canned food and I had a heck of a time getting her back on dry food (like for 2 years) ....

| I do know having her spayed was the right thing to do....and both of my kids were against it.....but as I said to my vet yesterday when I took her in.....I'd much rather take her in as a healthy dog to be spayed.....than bring her in with mammary tumors that might be cancerous.....I know a lot of my feelings last night regarding Brandi also came from inexperience and I was freaking out.......and exhausted after just having had my own business taken care of on Wednesday......I'm just glad she's feeling better........she's still sleeping but maybe she needs to really get it out of her system |

| I have felt badly by the way she's acting towards me.....my son didn't want me to have her spayed....AND he's trying to convince me that we need a bulldog now and I keep saying no.....(he got Brandi for me too) but I feel bad enough and it's just like he's rubbing salt in my wound..... |
