| We're Home...and I need valium Brandi was spayed today and I finally just got more or less settled.....as soon as we got home and I put her down on my bed she vomited (sigh) the I just sat down and she laid across my chest and fell asleep for at least an hour.....I got up and put her down on the wee wee pad and she used it....and then she took off up the stairs.....and up the doggie stairs onto my bed......the vet said no food tonight but I could give her an ice cube to lick.....but she's refusing that......and she just vomited again.....so I'm thinking it would be best if I leave her alone....the vet didn't give me pain meds only antibiotics.....she whines a little I'm terrified to lift her I'm being extremely careful when I do.....at the moment I'm sorry I did this to her.....realistically I do know it's better for her to be spayed......but I just feel like crying....... |

| Ahhhh poor mommy! And Brandi....oh it breaks your heart doesn't it? I am guessing the anesthesia is making her sick. Hopefully she wont show signs of pain and need pain meds...I don't think I used the meds for my girls but I did have them. Hopefully you will see an improvement tomorrow. All mine did was lay in one spot and sleep too I have to go through this within a month myself....I'm dreading it...

| If she is not perkier tomorrow, I would call the vet and ask for some pain meds. Gracie stayed at the vet overnight after her spay. So all the anesthesia side effects were behind her. She arrived home acting like nothing ever happened. I did give her the pain meds even though she did not act like she was in pain. It was impossible to keep her still! Hope your baby is feeling better. You did the right thing.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Poor baby. She should feel better tomorrow. Is she throwing up because her tummy is empty? I know when Cali was spayed I was going to pick her up the next evening and the vet called and said she threw up her food and they wanted to watch her overnight. Next day she was ok.

| Poor thing! She should feel better tomorrow. When you do feed her, I'd go with something light like boiled rice and chicken. Probably the anesthesia. I feel for you both!

| I'm gonna guess her tummy is empty she hasn't eaten since last night...I had to take away her food at midnight.....but the vet told me not to feed her tonight.....she doesn't seem to really want to eat....and she was vomiting bile...I do hope she perks up tomorrow or I will be making a visit to the vet |

| You could give her a bit of nutrical or put some sugar in her water and see if that perks her up any. I don't think a bit of yogurt would do her any harm. I don't understand why she can't eat tonight. When Gracie had her spay, the vet said they would feed her late that same evening. She was also eating when I picked her up the next day.

| It was so stressful for me too, but what it really help was the pain meds (I think) so if you can ask your vet for some, i feelt bad too, but now you can even tell she was spayed, hang there brandi-mommy, this too shall pass |

| She perked up for about one brief second around 2am when my son got home.....she even wagged her tail and kissed him.....he held an ice cube and she licked it till most of it was gone........and she had a lick (about the size of a small pea) of NutraCal......she's not eating anything....and I got a minimal amount of water into her.....via her licking it off my finger....or she'd lick it off the syringe.....but she wouldn't drink from her bowl.....I put down some dry food just a few pieces so I'd know if she ate.....and I tried cottage cheese on my finger....she wanted no part of it.....I'll see what else I can try to give her......she NEEDS to eat.....we're going on day two......she's also making this noise when she breathes.....I can't even describe the noise.....it's not a snore....it's not a wheeze....I'm just a wreck......and I think I will be making an unannounced visit to the vet this morning......I hope she's ok or I will never forgive myself for doing this |

| I think a vet visit is a good idea. No matter the outcome, you will feel better for having taken her. Do not feel guilty. You did the right thing. How would you feel if you did not have her spade and as a result she ended up with mammary cancer? Whatever is going on with her is probably no where near as horrific as mammary cancer. Let us know how the vet visit goes. Feel better soon little Brandi girl!
