| sounds like a great dog ... and a nice lady who saw good reason to sell her at a loss to make sure she was placed in a good home ... and a happy family who benefitted from it ... so everyone is happy all around ...

| Thanks Thanks for the warm welcome. Yes, my friends and family thought I was nuts to lose $1200+ on her but getting her a good home and keeping my other dogs happy meant a lot to me. She is a very playful little girl and with Roxie being larger than my 4 pound girls, she would play a little rough not to hurt them but just because she was larger than them. One day I thought Roxie had done a tackle with Maria, it was funny at first but then I thought my little girl could have gotten injured as their legs are so dainty. But Roxie has a very solid build, very white teeth, and my groomer asked before I had ever mentioned it, if she had champion in her lineage and I told her, "yes how did you know?", she said she has done dogs for years and her hair was that of a good quality breed. I am so happy that now Roxie can play until she runs tired with family members who can give her the attention that she really needs. I have to divide my attention to 9 other dogs and if I allowed Roxie, she would take my whole day.LOL Loved to give kisses and run run run. Thanks about the compliments on my Precious, I am going to try to make her picture larger as you can hardly see her. She is my 2 pound girl. All my friends call her theirs so she has many mommies.LOL She too small to breed as I picked her out at 2 weeks of age and she turned out to be the second smallest puppy. The owners fell so much in love with her that they waited two more weeks to send her to me and asked on a regular basis how she was doing as the husband was very fond of her. His wife told me that she had the best temperment and disposition and that her husband has never took to the puppies like he did her. So he would ask if she heard from me so that he could see how Precious was doing. I told them I was naming her Precious and they had began to call her Precious so she knew her name when I got her. So cute. Well nice chatting with you and thanks again for the warm welcome. Alicia |

Little Roxy sounds so much like my Daisy. Daisy is a little ball of energy at 13 lbs. We got TeddyBear at 8 wks old, when Daisy was 6 months old and she played so rough with him we were afraid she would hurt him too. He was so little. He was supposed to be 6 lbs or so full grown but he surprised us too, just like Daisy, he grew to 12 lbs. We loved it!! Because he can roll with all of the punches Daisy delivers and throw a few back at her too. They are great companions now.

| I would guess that she was purchased for breeding and has grown to be bigger than expected and ears not up...I would offer her much less if all you want is a good pet, the ears can be taped from what I have read, they may be down due to heavy hair (check the thickness of the ear)...Good Luck! |

My Teddy had floppy ears and now he's 10 and his ears stand all up except the tip less than quarter inch is flipped over and if I had known then what I have learned now, I believe his ears would be totally up. The only down thing with dogs with pointed ears is that, they get lots of dirt in their ears too so you have to make sure your groomer cleans their ears and I do so too with a q-tip but with care as they squirm and you can puncture their ear drums. I had my vet show me how. Nice chatting. Alicia

| Day 4 with Roxie (Day 3 at work with me) Well, Roxie is SOOOO happy in her new home. Here is what's going on with her: She goes in the car each morning to take the kids to school. They have agreed to take turns holding her in the car. She is learning that "Bye Bye" means going in the car already! I come home, take a shower, and then off to the office, with, you guess it, Roxie. I brought a travel crate with me on Monday (one WAY bigger than she needs) and left it in my office. I put her blankie that I brought her home in on the inside of the crate. It was my Prissy's blankie (Prissy died last year). So from the minute we got into the office, she jumped in that crate (off course the door is open) and she snuggles up in there. She is either in my lap, following me from office to office, or napping all day. She LOVES everyone in the office and is no trouble at all to have here. She just wants to know where I am at all times and even follows me to the restroom. At 2:45 it's bye bye time to get the kids from school. She goes home with my daughter for a couple of hours of time for just them to play. She sleeps with jennaya but loves to cuddle with anyone who will hold her. She's got a great disposition still, and LOVES my son still, which was important to us. She's peeing all over the place but we'll keep working on it. She is not pad trained, or has forgottten or something. Also, she pooped today finally after not having gone since Saturday, which had me worried and ready to visit a vet or at least give her some soft food. Great-grandma (or dallna as she's known here) is making clothes for her. By the way, her measurements are: from neck to rump 17", 14" around her belly. I have never even given a thought to putting clothes on an animal before but this animal makes me want to buy her a Barbie Corvette even! Thanks for all the kind words everyone, this dog is really loved The photo below you can't enlarge, so check out my next post!

| Roxie looking like she is in HEAVEN!! Quote:
As for the potty training, what helped me with her here is to when she makes a pee pee take a pee pee pad and let the pee get absorbed into the pee pee pad, then wipe up the rest and she will get used to the pee pee pad you have. Eventually move the pee pee pad closer to where outside is. Every morning take her out and when she does a pee pee or poo poo, praise her and say good girl Roxie you did pee pee outside that is such a good girl. She will be reinforced like she was here. It's a new place for her and she has to learn where she is to go and if you see her about to pee inside, make a loud noise or ah ah ah and then immediately pick her up and take her outside. If she then does it outside after a few minutes, reinforce her with good girl you pee pee outside. If you can't catch her in time and she does it inside, I say bad girl Roxie, NO pee pee inside we pee pee outside in a firm voice. She will do fine with you just get her on a schedule so she gets used to when it's time to go potty. It took some time with me with her and the others but they will learn. Eventually you will have to put new pee pee pads down and if you can rub a little scent of the one that has to be thrown out that should also help. Let me know how it goes but I think she will be on her way to learning the routine in her new surroundings. Alicia
