If she's healthy & well behaved I dont think its bad. I have been talking to a local breeder & he just had a litter of akc pups at 8 wks old it looks like one might get about 11-12lbs. Mom is 6.6 dad is 4.5. You just dont know. So I would rather know what I'm getting. I paid $1000 for my girl at 11 months old 3.6lbs. She is now 14 months 4.4lbs I've fattened her up . I thought that was a great deal. You may just go visit, take your daughter & grand daughter see what they think. Has she been spayed already? That will save you some $ & if shes up to date on shots. If not I would just explain after you all think she would be a good pet that you would like to have her but the price is a little more then you can do since you will be having her spayed. Maybe ask her whats the best she could do if you paid cash that day. She might surprise you. Or if she asks what you can go tell her $450 & a really great home. Put on some charm I know I'm aweful, but paying full price cuts in on the carrier & clothes buying

I saw an adorable male puppy whose parents were big, they were asking 600 or best offer. I am sure they would have come down.

I agree though, nice looking doggie.

I know I posted before but I am in south Texas. IN 1993 I paid $450 for a champion sired gorgeous female (she is 3.5 lbs now) and $200 for a runt male.

IN Dec I paid $1150 for a 8 week old 1. 7 lb female (3 lbs now). Males are going for around $750 at Christmas.

Once again, thank you to everyone! My daughter and the grandkids are thrilled beyond words and Roxie seems pretty darn happy as well! Now she DOES have a sister so if anyone is interested, just let me know and I'll put you in touch. I've enclosed a photo of the sister when she and Roxie were pups. Roxie is on the right, Ruby on the left. Ruby is a bit smaller I understand.

First off congratulations!! I am so glad your daughter went through with he purchase! 600 to me was very fair! In the pic's Roxie doesn't look that much bigger than the sis!! She is a cutie pie!!

My daughter would LOVE to have Ruby too! Unfortunately, she just doesn't have the money....nor do I. I do hope someone on here can give her a nice home though. My daughter said she's a cutie!

I was reading the first few posts and secretly hoping you'd get her and was delighted to see the last few posts and find out that you did. That does look like a match made in heaven.

I can't believe that she paid $2,000. Mine is a registered Yorkshire Terrier, blue and gold, I paid $1,000 for her. Her ears are perfect, she weighs 4 pounds and will not get over 7 pounds. My Vet told me that they will grow until 12 months. They are rough little ones. Let me know how it goes for you.
