Donating YT 7000 Club Member | ![]() If you're not going to love her as much as you should because of her size, give her back. I'm sorry to be blunt, but you're not going to get sympathy on a yorkie board if you're posting about giving back your dog because she's 2 pounds. What if you got an adult? Then you would already be gaurenteed a size.

| ![]() When we got Piper, we were told she wouldn't be over 4 to 5 lbs. She was 1.3 lbs at 14 weeks. We fell in love with her as soon as we saw her picture. We got her over the internet. Needless to say she is now almost 10 months and weights 6.6 lbs maybe more after the holidays. LOL... She is the most adorable sweetest little piggy in the world. I'm glad we didn't end up with a tiny, after reading all the health problems with them. I understand you wanted a tiny one, but I don't care what the breeder says about the size they predict they will be, It's just a prediction, no guarantee. |

| ![]() Hi IheartZoe. First off I would like to say how beautiful Zoe is. Second, I would like to share with you that it isn't necessarily that bad that in one week you haven't "bonded" with her. Take a moment and think how you would feel if you opened a door right now and she got lost or if you found out something was wrong with her. Bet you got a knot in your tummy. I didn't feel I had bonded to my Tia but when I was challenged with the same questions, boy I knew I'd kill if anything happened to her!! Now I'd like to share with you my experience with my Tia as many of my YT supporters know what I've just been through. I have no judgement about how you are feeling... actually I really understand. But YT has alway been a place for me to educate myself so I pray you will find this post. I have 2 yorkies, Bailey who is 5.5 pounds and full grown and Tia who is 2.5 pounds and fully grown. Tia has not been sickly or has had hypoglycemic attack but one day saw thew cat jump off the couch and she went after her. All she did was jump off the couch and broke her leg. Well the vet bills have now added up to $1500.00 and we are still counting (and this didn't include any travel expenses to get to a specialist). The hardest choice I had to make was do we spend this money to get her leg fixed and what guarantees do we have it won't happen again. All she did was jump off the couch. Now that the leg is almost healed and the bills have become an excepted part of our life, I can't help but think what will I do if she does it again? I just wanted to share this with you because I promised myself that after what I had been through with Tia that I would share this with anyone posted that they thought they wanted a little yorkie. They are cute and draw a lot of attention and I get many people saying how they would love to have a dog this small, but I wonder how they would feel about the vet bills I have occurred. Just really think about what you want. It sounds to me like you have a sweet Yorkie that you can enjoy and not have the worries the little guys will give you. Best of luck with your decision!

| ![]() Zoe is just precious. I have no doubt that in a few more days, you wouldn't part with her for the world. You didn't deserve the bashing you got and I apologize for it. Sometimes new moms feel the same way about their newborn babies at first. I hope that you can get past the responses that jumped down your throat. There are also a lot of nice experienced dog owners/ breeders on YT that have a lot of valuable information to give and rarely feel the need to be insulting or sarcastic. I doubt if the breeder will give you your money back so I hope that you aren't too disappointed if she turns out to be a little larger than you expected. As others have said, you really can't tell at this age how big she will be. She looks like a fine example of a Yorkie. You are fortunate that she has her little ears up so perky already. Some deal with that for quite some time and I had one years ago whose ears never came up. He was also bigger than standard but I still loved him dearly and I know you will love Zoe regardless of her size. |

| ![]() i would just like to say that i agree with what some of the people have said on here, if breeders keep breeding to get smaller yorkies this breed we all love will die out as their will be no yorkies of breeding size left, its not good for the breed to keep having these tiny pups in litters. to say you want to give the pup back cos shes not the size you wanted i just cant understand, what if the next pup you get isnt the right size? maybe you should rethink about having a dog as i cant understand someone who has a puppy for a week and they havent bonded with them. when i got a call from a rescue centre saying they had a yorkie come in and did i wanna come see it i knew from that min that id be coming home with her, i walked in and saw brandi this skinny big headed long legged big long nosed yorkie with a bald patch on the back of her head and yes i will admitt i thought thats not what i had in my mind of what she would look like but i took her home with me and by that night i loved her and wouldnt part with her, shes no looker like my sasha was but shes my girl ![]()

| ![]() As a long time breeder, it is never a done deal with me. If a person does not want my Yorkie any time during its life, I will take it back...within the first few months I will even refund most of the money. I do not want my babies anywhere they are not a cherished family member. Return her if possible, your Yorkie deserves it. |

I agree, we (well most of us) are all adults here and we need to act like adults. I'll admit, I wasn't polite in my postings on this thread, and I thought about that, but I find it so cruel to give away a pet for this reason, I let that get the better of me and didn't really double-think about my posts. This was one of those waaayy out there questions and with a group of yorkie-lovers like all of us, of course some people are going to get defensive and mean right away. Not saying it's right though, but I think that's what happened.

| ![]() Zoe is beautiful, but if you dont feel attached maybe you should give her back. If I just "think" about Tinkerbell not being with me one day I have cried, so obviously she is not the right one for you no matter what her size is!! When I got TInkerbell I knew almost nothing about Yorkies, she was 9oz at 6 weeks (I believe if not less)She was predicted at about 2lbs she is 3 1/2 and is tiny, but it doesn't matter cause I lover her no matter what her size is. Good luck to you and Zoe, I hope Zoe finds a good home if you do give her back and if you should decide to keep her love her no matter what ![]() Oh yeah I dont hate you for that either, I think no one would ![]()

| ![]() I don't hate you, but I will admit I am very angry about this. Maybe you should look into getting a pet rock. I also wonder what will happen when you have children, you can't take a child back to the breeder if they happen to be fat or too tall. |

| ![]() What a special baby!!!!!! I'm sure you will find it very hard to let her go. If you do, send her out here, Princess would love a little sister ![]() ![]() ![]() The very first time I saw Princess, I knew she was the one. After YEARS of looking for her, I found her. I really hope your love grows for her, because I can tell just by her pictures, she's special. Best of luck to you, and many happy years of Yorkie kisses. ![]() ![]() ![]()

| ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As you all know, I am NOT one to run from controversy......and to me, I have not really seen ANY rude posts here...in fact it has been fun.....and it is nice to know everyone is still kickin after the holidays... I think the real issue is what the breeder told Zoe's Mom when she sold her the puppy.....but, it was up to Zoe's Mom to do her "due diligence", that is lawyer talk for "do your homework". In regard to the weight issue, I feel pretty confident the MOST breeders, who have bred for many, many years can give you a good idea what the weight will be with the puppy.....now if she is a new breeder....then maybe she is too inexperienced....these are questions that I still have..... But, I can understand your concern, you see, I dont use the word dissappointment....because I don't think it is ......and if you were misled then you have the right to return the puppy.......and if ZM made the assumption on what size the puppy would be.....and she now realizes that the puppy may be bigger, that mistake is Zoe's Mom and not the breeder's fault.... Heck, I am the last to advocate a tiny, I want them all to be perfect and within the breeder standard......that is the way it is supposed to be.......but, I think maybe ZM has not seen a 6 lb Show Yorkie.....because if she did.....she would realize that that is the most beautiful animal on the planet.... Good luck to all who have voiced your opinions here today.......I think you are GREAT!!!! Shirley ![]() ![]() |
