Well, I guess I'll chime in too....why not LOL

Ok, first of all...let me say that I am not taking any sides here. I am just stating what I personally think and feel and if no one likes it or agrees with it, well, I'm sorry LOL

K...first of all - I DO feel sorry for little Zoe. Now - I am NOT saying that I am upset with you or am looking down upon you for wanting to give her back, because I'M NOT. I just feel sorry for her and I cannot help but to feel that way.

Secondly, I DO want to say that I personally feel that if you CAN give her back, you should. If you are already feeling like she isn't what you wanted - then there really is no reason for you to keep her. Now, I know to some that may sound harsh, and mean...like you are just "tossing her aside" so to speak - but your not. You would be giving her back to the breeder which is, IMO, the best possible thing for her. At least you are not one of those people who just say "oh well" and end up keeping her and not paying any attention to her or giving her any love because she isn't what you wanted. I'm sure you paid a good amount of money for her (I HAVE NOT read any of the other replies, or posts, so I don't know if you have stated what you paid for her or not) but regardless - you DID pay for her and when you are intentionally BUYING something with YOUR MONEY - you should be getting what YOU WANT, and obviously, Zoe's not it. I personally, do not think that there is anything wrong with that.

Now, I will say that I do not think that Zoe is too big - but that is JUST ME - just MY opinion. If you feel that she is too big for what you were looking for - then hey - you have that right, and no one can tell you otherwise. No one can tell you what you should or should not want.

For example - if you were out looking for a new pair of jeans and bought a pair and brought them home and then realized a week later (ummm....after NOT wearing them of course LOL) that they just weren't what you were looking for - you would have the right to take them back, and that would be YOUR right. And please people - I DO understand that a living, breathing, precious little Yorkie cannot, and should not be compared to a pair of JEANS for crying out loud but I am just trying to get my point across. The point is that YOU would have paid for them - and if they weren't what you were looking for, then you should have the right to take them back. And I personally think that the same rule applies here (should your breeder choose to let you return her).

Anyway, my whole point is that you knew what you were looking for in the beginning - you wanted a SMALL Yorkie...and what people need to realize is that OTHER people DO have the right to want SMALL dogs...there is NOTHING wrong with that and I do not think that anyone should think you are an "uneducated", or wrong person for that. Just like people want a LARGE dog - there is NOTHING wrong with that either. And I know that 95% of people will say, "Well she shouldn't want/buy a small Yorkie because they are more prone to health problems and are more fragile" and so on...but hey, if YOU KNOW the risks, and are aware of them, and that is still what you want - then I'm sorry, but that is YOUR business.

I guess alot of people look at your situation as, "Oh, a full grown Yorkie at 6 lbs is too big for her, well that is just SAD!" - and they end up feeling sorry for the dog, and they are angry at YOU because you want to give her back because of her size, and THEY FEEL that she isn't "good enough" for you being the size that she will end up being. Which is for the most part true - but as I have said all throughout this post, that is YOUR RIGHT honey. Some people may not agree with it - and they make think it is mean or whatever, but you are the one that's taking the money out of your pocket, and just like in any other situation - you should get what you want. IMO, the same rule applies for the coloring of Yorkies. Some people want the lighter ones, some people want the darker ones - you LOOK for what YOU WANT, and you BUY what YOU WANT. I honestly don't see what the big problem is. People get so upset when they hear that others want a smaller sized Yorkie, and I honestly don't see what the big issue is. If people know the risks, and they still want to take them, that is THEIR business.

I can totally understand people being upset when someone says, "Oh I have a 1 or 2 year old dog that I don't want anymore because it got too big" - now THAT, IMO - is SAD. But, you have only had your little girl for a short time - and you realized IN THE BEGINNING (which is a GOOD thing) that she is just not what you were looking for - bottom line. So I must be blind here, because I see absolutely no problem with that what so ever.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll get reamed for this one, LOL...but that's ok I have a right to my opinion, and I stated it - so that's it - I'm done

I do not hate you.

But, I was completely, totally, and unreversibly (sp) in love with Ginger the moment they put her in my arms. Within moments I could not imagine NOT having her.

If you do not feel this way about this pup, then I think there is nothing wrong with returning her.

Just please be sure the next time around.

please go easy on her.. not EVERYONE falls in love that fast with their pups.. i didn't with layla.. i didn't know her and i was scared of her a bit... it took about a week or two until i felt as though i coudlnt' live without her... not everyone falls in love with their baby (human or fur) at first glace... it's ok that yo uare taking a while.. i did.. and i got there... give it a bit

I am not mad either. My Baxter is 12 lbs. His daddy was 4 and mommy was 8. I had no idea he would get as big as he has. BUT, he is the cutest,funniest,furry butt. I have 2 mini wiener dogs, 6 and 9 lbs and a cocker spaniel thats 45. Baxter looks mini next to him. My daughters lab is 75 lbs and I am glad Baxter is 12 cause when they get together, the lab and him play like no other. I would be afraid of this in a 3 lb. With a big dog already, a six lb dog is still tiny, but much better than 3. Personally I would worry about a 3 lb one getting stepped on by the big dog. Let alone playing. I hope you give her a chance, cause with their personalities, they will steal your heart like none other. Good Luck...

Okay, I'm not going to read through 185 posts on this subject, but I will voice my opinion. Having not owned a yorkie yet, and spending hours upon hours doing research, reading books, and speaking with breeders, I am annoyed. There are people out there who would love to have a yorkie right now, a 6 lb yorkie, and like me, can't afford it right now. So because she won't fit into the size of your hand, you want to return her?

What happens when you have kids and they don't look they way you want them to? What if your daughter turns out to have red hair instead of blonde? Are you going to try returning her too?

Though I understand where you are coming from and can understand your frustrations, lets try and remember what we are talking about here. You don't go to the store to pick out your baby and buy them but you do with a dog so it is a little different. Just because someone wants a smaller dog I don't see why they have to be raked over the coals. I wanted smaller yorkies and I have smaller yorkies. I have nothing against the bigger yorkies but I like mine jsut the size they are. If she wanted a little one and was under the impression that she was getting a little one I think she's being wise and responsible for taking into consideration her current feelings. I think since the original post she has thought a lot about her little girl and now see's her in a different light. I think if the new posters on this thread would actually read through the whole thread they would understand "iheartzoe's" feelings a little better and could see that she really does love little zoe and I "believe" she has decided to keep her.
