Ok, first of all...let me say that I am not taking any sides here. I am just stating what I personally think and feel and if no one likes it or agrees with it, well, I'm sorry LOL

K...first of all - I DO feel sorry for little Zoe. Now - I am NOT saying that I am upset with you or am looking down upon you for wanting to give her back, because I'M NOT. I just feel sorry for her and I cannot help but to feel that way.

Secondly, I DO want to say that I personally feel that if you CAN give her back, you should. If you are already feeling like she isn't what you wanted - then there really is no reason for you to keep her. Now, I know to some that may sound harsh, and mean...like you are just "tossing her aside" so to speak - but your not. You would be giving her back to the breeder which is, IMO, the best possible thing for her. At least you are not one of those people who just say "oh well" and end up keeping her and not paying any attention to her or giving her any love because she isn't what you wanted. I'm sure you paid a good amount of money for her (I HAVE NOT read any of the other replies, or posts, so I don't know if you have stated what you paid for her or not) but regardless - you DID pay for her and when you are intentionally BUYING something with YOUR MONEY - you should be getting what YOU WANT, and obviously, Zoe's not it. I personally, do not think that there is anything wrong with that.

Now, I will say that I do not think that Zoe is too big - but that is JUST ME - just MY opinion. If you feel that she is too big for what you were looking for - then hey - you have that right, and no one can tell you otherwise. No one can tell you what you should or should not want.

For example - if you were out looking for a new pair of jeans and bought a pair and brought them home and then realized a week later (ummm....after NOT wearing them of course LOL) that they just weren't what you were looking for - you would have the right to take them back, and that would be YOUR right. And please people - I DO understand that a living, breathing, precious little Yorkie cannot, and should not be compared to a pair of JEANS for crying out loud but I am just trying to get my point across. The point is that YOU would have paid for them - and if they weren't what you were looking for, then you should have the right to take them back. And I personally think that the same rule applies here (should your breeder choose to let you return her).

Anyway, my whole point is that you knew what you were looking for in the beginning - you wanted a SMALL Yorkie...and what people need to realize is that OTHER people DO have the right to want SMALL dogs...there is NOTHING wrong with that and I do not think that anyone should think you are an "uneducated", or wrong person for that. Just like people want a LARGE dog - there is NOTHING wrong with that either. And I know that 95% of people will say, "Well she shouldn't want/buy a small Yorkie because they are more prone to health problems and are more fragile" and so on...but hey, if YOU KNOW the risks, and are aware of them, and that is still what you want - then I'm sorry, but that is YOUR business.

I guess alot of people look at your situation as, "Oh, a full grown Yorkie at 6 lbs is too big for her, well that is just SAD!" - and they end up feeling sorry for the dog, and they are angry at YOU because you want to give her back because of her size, and THEY FEEL that she isn't "good enough" for you being the size that she will end up being. Which is for the most part true - but as I have said all throughout this post, that is YOUR RIGHT honey. Some people may not agree with it - and they make think it is mean or whatever, but you are the one that's taking the money out of your pocket, and just like in any other situation - you should get what you want. IMO, the same rule applies for the coloring of Yorkies. Some people want the lighter ones, some people want the darker ones - you LOOK for what YOU WANT, and you BUY what YOU WANT. I honestly don't see what the big problem is. People get so upset when they hear that others want a smaller sized Yorkie, and I honestly don't see what the big issue is. If people know the risks, and they still want to take them, that is THEIR business.

I can totally understand people being upset when someone says, "Oh I have a 1 or 2 year old dog that I don't want anymore because it got too big" - now THAT, IMO - is SAD. But, you have only had your little girl for a short time - and you realized IN THE BEGINNING (which is a GOOD thing) that she is just not what you were looking for - bottom line. So I must be blind here, because I see absolutely no problem with that what so ever.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll get reamed for this one, LOL...but that's ok I have a right to my opinion, and I stated it - so that's it - I'm done

Good luck to you and little Zoe!
I agree whole heartedly with you. I know what the girl means. I was over charged for my dog to get one not over 5 lbs and she is now about 11 lbs. I do love her but when you pay for what you want, you should get it a little closer to the size you want or get your money back, especially if it almost triples in size. Its her money and its her want and she should get what she pays for. But if these who got the ones that way outgrew their size expectancy love theirs anyway and wants to keep them, so be it, but if this girl dont want that, then she should have a choice of at least getting part of her money back if the breeder told her the particular puppy wouldnt be over a particular size. If a breeder doesnt want to be held to what they say, then they should just be honest and say, I dont think she/he will be bigger but its hard to say for sure and never tell a person it WILL definitely not be bigger. Same thing happened to me. But it was my first and I knew nothing. But i'm with the others as far as you can still love a bigger one, but that dont mean everyone will. Mine got lucky, she didnt start out big but about 4 months old she started growing fast. So once you have one that long and teach them lots of tricks and take up all that time with them, you do love them but you can still hold a grudge against the breeder as I think I always will. But mine is pretty to me and she is a smart one and actually she isnt what ya call big, just bigger than what I was looking to get. So, good luck to you and Zoe.

for the ones who dont know or remember this, here is a pic of my supposedly 4 pounder @ 11 lbs. LOL. And the other one that has barely tipped the 5 lbs scale at 7 months old. so you can see why I said she dont seem really that big, just bigger.

A pet rock, or a hamster.....well whatever, you have entirely missed the point with what the posters meant., and I do believe it was not meant to be mean or spiteful....call me the royal optimist........they used those examples not as literal, but more as a way of saying maybe she was not ready for a Yorkie.....but, maybe they could of said it a little softer....and as I stated earlier......I feel that she really is not entirely to blame here.....

But, You cannot possibly be implying that the fact that I dont agree with you to mean that my comments or others are any less important than yours......

If it's any consolation...my Rebel weighed 2lbs 3 ounces at 6 1/2 weeks. By the charts, he should have been a larger (over standard) dog. He topped out at 4 1/2 lbs. It's all genetics. Yorkie babies go through a couple of growing spurts. But, Rebel's dad was right under 3 lbs. How big were the parents to your dog?

Also, at 12 weeks, Dallas weighed 1lb 10 ounces...which would put him barely over 3 lbs (a bit small). Today at 14 weeks 1 day, he weighs 2 1/2 lbs exactly. So, it looks like he's going to be over 4 lbs.

OMG!!! Zoe is absolutely cute as a button! I hope you decide to keep her.
My two yorkies weigh 3, and 4 lbs, and there isn't a day that goes by that I wish they were a tad bigger. Be thankful that she's healthy, and trust me size should be the least of your worries, with a cute doll face that Zoe has.
She will melt everyones heart!!!

Now go get you flannel p.j.'s on, and curl up with your fur babies.....
Priceless........

Good Luck
Kim
