I had a neighbor who had a dog that was suffering horribly in the hot sun 2 years ago with 1/3 of his skin just raw (I don't know what was wrong) Chanel alerted me to him by barking and whining at MY fence.

He had gone and layed in the corner of his yard I THINK... To die - When I saw there was a dog in the yard - I climbed way up on my fence to take a look and was SHOCKED - So I got out my camera - took pictures & with my zoom lens. I also called the Houston ASPCA and emailed them too with the pictures along with the address and cross streets.

They came within less than 48 hours and saved that dog. They did NOT need a donation to save that dog !!! Ernie at the ASPCA (who is on Houston Cops) called me to tell me if it weren't for the pictures - they wouldn't have acted so fast but that was the clincher for them to move quickly.

These people need to notify the authorities and get all those dogs out of there. I HATE people who let dogs suffer like that...I just HATE THEM !

ps...THE PICTURE I posted is NOT as graphic as the other ones I took - (I don't want to upset anyone) - but this is that poor baby trying to look at me while I talked to him.... He never did get up and try to walk towards me. When I saw this poor guy I wanted to jump that fence and just SMACK his owner.

I know it is horrible to be so suspicious, but I too am skeptical.

How can they not get animal control to help. They could alert the media. They could get PETA involved. I personally think it is a scam.

I dont even believe there are any dogs, they probably stole those picture from another website.

Some one should forward that page to the local sheriff and let them check it out.

They will check out the conditions of the animals and TAKE them if they are being abused or neglected. If the neglect is minor the breeder would receive a citation - if it's major - they have the choice to surrender the dogs or take a chance of going to court.

That's what they DO.
Yes, how is giving them the money ahead of time going to help them get the dogs. Do they plan to buy them?

So I went to the ASPCA website and clicked on report animal cruetly and typed in Tennessee. The closest law inforcement for animals is in Chattanooga which is about 1hour and a half from here. I'm going to e-mail them right now and tell them all about it and see what they say.
I e-mailed this other group back and asked them if they were in Monroe county (which is where I'm at) since the p.o. box is in Monroe county.

One way or another I'm going to help rescue those pups. If I can't get any answers today I'm going down to the madisonville police department and asking them what can be done.
If any of you can think of anything that else that I could do let me know.
I SUGGEST CALLING THE NEWS MEDIA, THE TV STATION OR NEWSPAPER.

YES, that is the way to go. The media would put pressure on the breeder, and on the animal control. And they could also get donations.

From what I understand the animal shelter would be more than willing to turn them over to the rescue group.

The news media is the best source in getting on this and they will be there in a jiffy, believe me something will be done quickly.
((((((((((VI)))))))))))) that poor dog next to you, I do hope that it got ok, and that it got a loving home. What did they do to the owner???? Hopefully it wasn't just ignored, the owners should be prosecuted for animal cruelity. I also read a post where a dog can't be removed because of filthy conditions and I don't go along with that, I believe any pet that is left in filthy living conditions is ABSOLUTELY CRUEL and it is irresponsable on the animal control or officials to allow it to stay, this is my opinion on that, and I stand firm on my feelings there. I think there is toooo much time spent in our area of coming up with law after law and then not enforcing the ones that are already there to protect animals. Out here in Calif. in the area we are, the new laws, I think it is just a way of getting more money so that the elected officials can give themselves more salary raises and more raises. Sorry but that is exactly how I feel. Patti

This is more than just filthy conditions, these animals have mange, they are not well. I just don't believe that the authorities would not help.

Around here they show up with the media and the police and animal control and even HazMat. Usually the smell alone is enough to get the authorities involved, they don't even need pictures.

Did they say how they managed to get in to take the pictures. Those pictures don't look like they were taken through the windows as she claimed they were.

I totaly agree with you. Actually I think Houston will cite people who let animals live in filthly conditions and they follow up on it ...if the owner doesn't rectify the problem next visit - he stands to be fined and taken to court & possibly lose his animals - whatever kind they are.

In the case of the White dog - they estimated him at about a year old and SAID he was adopted out after being treated. I WANT to believe they didn't put him down and spoke to the Animal Control officer Ernie quite a few times about this dog - he promised me he did get adopted - He even wrote me a letter a few months later with Autographed pictures of himself LOL and said he went to a nice home.

With the White Dog - The owners were NOT fined because they surrendered the animal.

wow - didn't mean to write a book !

One question though, (and please everyone, take this the right way) how can we be sure this is legit??? I almost clicked the paypal button right away, and WILL donate, but does anyone know how to be certain this is for real?

Does petfinder.com monitor the rescues that post there???

Bhoozersmama - can you shed more light on this?
DITTO: and I've never ever heard of any place that doesn't help dogs in this stage. Surely the police can step in. Am I so naive? Not only does someone need to find out if the donations really go to help them BUT how do we know they aren't going to withhold some Yorkie and start breading all over again. More importantly something has to be able to close this down. After the past week with the Chancie situation, I feel sick to my stomach seeing this. How terrible. This organization says the owners will only let them in, well if it is legit, they won't after reading what they wrote but my gut tells me even if we all sent donations, it would be never ending until these people are stopped. Now I have to go look up manged. I am new as a doggie owner and I am so happy I can care for my Babies properly. Yuk, God help these owners

I will do some investigtion on this, I should know someone who knows someone who can tell me something. In this area, for the shelter to remove dogs, they have to prove there is no food, water, shelter.. otherwise, they can stay, no matter how filthy. If the shelter DOES take them, they will likely be euthanized. If the rescue takes them, some of them will be able to be rehabilitated and vetted. The shelter taking a dog or dogs is NOT always a good thing. Especially considering the sickness in the shelters, non vaccinated dogs dont stand a chance. They will then be adoped (if not killed) to the first Moron with an adoption fee.. YES rescue needs to take care of this.. they are trained to deal with dogs like this, and the rehab they are going to need. I have personally worked several puppymill busts, and rehabed puppymill dogs, and it is NOT pretty. Kudos to them for being willing to take this on, they have more in them than I do anymore...I've had enough. Anyways, I will do some research on this rescue, and post my findings, but I am SURE they are not scamming, as I can count on one hand the number of toy breeders just in this area with dogs that look just like those. I PRAY they are shutting one of them down.

Let me know if I can help with anything......you know me......I can be there pretty quick......hubby calls me Michael Andretti......

Here's the link. If they can't get enough donations they won't be able to rescue these babies. The full story and pics are here:

I'm a Cub Scout Master and I took my scouts to a radio station last week where I met a really nice lady with the Monroe County Animal Shelter doing a promo for a fund raiser. She gave me her card because I said I'd be interested in volunteering on saturdays at the shelter. I'm going to talk to her about it tomorrow and see if she knows anything about this place.

The woman that the rescue place is going to buy the yorkies monday because she's scared that they are going to die. This is a very small rural community here and I really don't believe there's much that would be done to rescue these dogs. We only recently got an animal shelter.

She says that yes, the woman will probably take the money and breed again. But for right now all she cares about is getting those babies out of that house and to the vet on tuesday. I really honestly don't think it's a scam.

Please someone call the news station, here in New Hampsire we just had a case of animal cruelty. One case was puppies/dogs who were kept in cages and covered in their own feces. The other case was last night, 4 horses all skin and bones were removed. In both cases the Media was involved, and yes donations were asked for, but only once the animals were removed. I will do whatever it takes to help.
