Now as far as them asking for donations to BUY the dogs, 1st needs to be determined if they have their 501-3(c) non profit status. I am in eastern TN.. In this area, for the shelter to remove dogs, they have to prove there is no food, water, shelter.. otherwise, they can stay, no matter how filthy. If the shelter DOES take them, they will likely be euthanized. If the rescue takes them, some of them will be able to be rehabilitated and vetted. The shelter taking a dog or dogs is NOT always a good thing. Especially considering the sickness in the shelters, non vaccinated dogs dont stand a chance. They will then be adoped (if not killed) to the first Moron with an adoption fee.. YES rescue needs to take care of this.. they are trained to deal with dogs like this, and the rehab they are going to need. I have personally worked several puppymill busts, and rehabed puppymill dogs, and it is NOT pretty. Kudos to them for being willing to take this on, they have more in them than I do anymore...I've had enough. Anyways, I will do some research on this rescue, and post my findings, but I am SURE they are not scamming, as I can count on one hand the number of toy breeders just in this area with dogs that look just like those. I PRAY they are shutting one of them down.
