ps...THE PICTURE I posted is NOT as graphic as the other ones I took - (I don't want to upset anyone) - but this is that poor baby trying to look at me while I talked to him.... He never did get up and try to walk towards me. When I saw this poor guy I wanted to jump that fence and just SMACK his owner.

This is just horrible, Villette I am so glad you found out about that poor dog and was able to contact the ASPCA in time.

OMG how could someone walk away and leave dogs that look like that without calling local authorities! that's horrid! those POOR dogs. someone needs to report it some how asap! i don't think anyone should try to work with a "breeder" that let's their dogs get to that condition!

Well, I called the number listed on the site and only got a voice mail. I left a messege but have not gotten a reply yet. I did get a reply to the e-mail I sent and all that they said in the e-mail is that they took those pics last night and they hope to get enough donations to rescue them. So I went to the ASPCA website and clicked on report animal cruetly and typed in Tennessee. The closest law inforcement for animals is in Chattanooga which is about 1hour and a half from here. I'm going to e-mail them right now and tell them all about it and see what they say.
I e-mailed this other group back and asked them if they were in Monroe county (which is where I'm at) since the p.o. box is in Monroe county.

One way or another I'm going to help rescue those pups. If I can't get any answers today I'm going down to the madisonville police department and asking them what can be done.
If any of you can think of anything that else that I could do let me know.

This is happening in mills EVERYWHERE with nothing done. I can prove the legitimacy after I have all the dogs safely out. the only way to do so now would be to post the breeders name and address. Can't do it. If people are THAT worried that I am not legit, then I certainly do not want them to donate. Please don't give it another thought. But I can tell you, I will not let it be implied that I am not on the up and up. I will flat out prove otherwise once I have these babies SAFE.

That explains it. You are new here. I was too..10 years ago. I had NEVER seen anything like it. There was no shelter, no animal control. We just recently got a shelter last year. But this county does not enforce animal cruelty laws. The shelter simply writes up a form that goes to the mayor's desk and sits there. They do NOTHING. You simply must trust me. If I thought that was the way to go, I would do it. The most that would happen is they may visit her and tell her to get them vet care. Then I can most assuredly promise you that they would die. She would know I did it and I'd never be able to help another one there or with her sisters. The 4 Maltese on my website I rescued from her sister.
Yes, I'm sure she most definitely will continue breeding. No doubt in my mind unforunately. But I can't stop her...I can only try to get these out of there. IMO breeding should not be allwed until the animal overpopulation is dealt with. Any any breeder should be inspected once a month. But we all know that won't happen. So all I can do is help the ones I'm made aware of. Please, feel free to write a check directly to my vet. I have an appt for 3 on Tuesday even though I haven't gotten any yet. I'm planning on going there Monday night. I will do my best not to pay her, but rather than let them die..I will try to save as many as I can. This area is AWFUL, these country people have no regard for their animals. It sickens me.

Hold on a second... I ran a rescue for three years, and yes there were times (not often) that a dog had to be "bought" out of hell. Now as far as them asking for donations to BUY the dogs, 1st needs to be determined if they have their 501-3(c) non profit status. I am in eastern TN.. I will do some investigtion on this, I should know someone who knows someone who can tell me something. In this area, for the shelter to remove dogs, they have to prove there is no food, water, shelter.. otherwise, they can stay, no matter how filthy. If the shelter DOES take them, they will likely be euthanized. If the rescue takes them, some of them will be able to be rehabilitated and vetted. The shelter taking a dog or dogs is NOT always a good thing. Especially considering the sickness in the shelters, non vaccinated dogs dont stand a chance. They will then be adoped (if not killed) to the first Moron with an adoption fee.. YES rescue needs to take care of this.. they are trained to deal with dogs like this, and the rehab they are going to need. I have personally worked several puppymill busts, and rehabed puppymill dogs, and it is NOT pretty. Kudos to them for being willing to take this on, they have more in them than I do anymore...I've had enough. Anyways, I will do some research on this rescue, and post my findings, but I am SURE they are not scamming, as I can count on one hand the number of toy breeders just in this area with dogs that look just like those. I PRAY they are shutting one of them down.
