I disagree with you. And not only from a true line of yorkies, but from a Champion line no less. I don't believe it is ridiculous to claim they came from two traditional colored yorkies. The extensive DNA testing that was required by the AKC, satisfies me that the parti coloreds came from two traditional colored yorkies. My little Chachi does not have a spot of white on him but because his daddy is a parti, he is definitely a carrier, and if I were to mate him to another traditional colored carrier, they could produce parti colored offspring. I do not know what was required for the Biewer line, so I won't comment on them. That gene may have only been in one line of dogs, and maybe there was a maltese mixed in, but it was so far back that it was and is still part of their make up. The reason it does not show up very often and usually only in champion lines, is because the champion lines are where they do the in breeding. Ethical, Inexperienced breeders would never try it. | |

| ![]() Biewers, Partis and Yorkies all have the same 'standard' in regards to weight--up to 7 pounds. One variation is not neccessarily "smaller" than the other--the size depends on the genetic background of the dogs the breeder is using to produce offspring. All three can be "up to 14 pounds" or as small as "5 lbs grown." |

| ![]() Yes and no. Biewers originated in Germany from 2 standard color Yorkies, thus becoming the Beiwer Yorkshire Terrier a la Pom Pon. Over time they were selectively bred to reproduce the variance in coloring. As of now their is a standard for the Biewers regarding specific requriements for color placement. They are not registerable with AKC. The goal of working towards getting them accepted and how to go about it is widely not currently agreed upon by present day Biewer breeders. Partis have no set standard at this point and no requirements for color placement. They ARE registerable with AKC. |

| ![]() It might be old, but it's all new information to me! Before YT I had no idea a Biewer or a parti-colored yorkie existed! I did notice some pictures in avatars, but I just assumed it was a completely different breed. The saying is true, you do learn something new every day! |
