Anyways, didn't mean to rant on, like I said they are very cute and I wouldn't mind one myself.......but what cost will "fashion" have on the fate of the original Yorkie? |

I disagree with you. And not only from a true line of yorkies, but from a Champion line no less.
I don't believe it is ridiculous to claim they came from two traditional colored yorkies. The extensive DNA testing that was required by the AKC, satisfies me that the parti coloreds came from two traditional colored yorkies.
My little Chachi does not have a spot of white on him but because his daddy is a parti, he is definitely a carrier, and if I were to mate him to another traditional colored carrier, they could produce parti colored offspring. I do not know what was required for the Biewer line, so I won't comment on them.
That gene may have only been in one line of dogs, and maybe there was a maltese mixed in, but it was so far back that it was and is still part of their make up.
The reason it does not show up very often and usually only in champion lines, is because the champion lines are where they do the in breeding. Ethical, Inexperienced breeders would never try it.
