| I just boiught the pup head...don't know how it will work. The pee pads were getting so expensive and I noticed that if I didn't change them, ants were around. I was changing them 1-2 times per day, but now I've been changing them more and it is too expensive. suzie |

| My older yorkie baby goes outside, but the puppy doesn't. I change her pad once a day. I throw out the poo if it formed, but if it is sticky then I'll change out the pad. I purchase my pads at Walmart as well. |

| Pee pads are really expensive when you add it all up. My husband decided to purchase the WizDog indoor potty about 2 days ago and it's very convenient and cheap. You don't necessarily have to use a pee pad because there's a "grate" that separates the newspaper (or pee pad if preferred) from the tray and plus you won't get footprints all over your floor/carpet. www.wizdog.com (it's a lot cheaper on eBay) |

| Pipi Dolly The Wizdog sounds like a great idea, but it is a bit too big for the room I have reserved for Gracie. I found a similar product that is smaller, the Pipi Dolly. I just ordered one. https://www.shop.rawhidedistributors...&categoryId=17 |

when we are at home i also use newspaper but i put it around the outside of the pads and the pads in the middle....he will pee on the pads and poo on the paper and i just pick the poo up and flush it also...when we are in the truck i use alot more pads because there is no room for the paper...and if i dont chage them after every 2 or 3 times he will not use them he is picky about it lol...if there is pee on the pad he will step really high so he dont step in it....but if he poos i pick it up right away or he will stand there and look at me until i do he will not use the pad or paper if there is poo on it anywhere...lol

| Pee Pee Pads Well I'm a first time owner, I got my girl 2 days ago. She is already pee pad trained and the first pad was great. She only went on the pad. Today I changed the pad and put the new one and she keeps peeing on the carpet. I don't know why but maybe I think its new and she always smells it first I guess cuz she marks her spot and its too clean as weird as that sounds. I hope tomorow she starts using it again. Well I also pick up the poop and dispose as I see it because it is a easy pick up does not leave a smell or mark on the pad. My Keyra is 3 months and I got her 2 days ago. Other then this current pee pad horror she is great and I love sooo much! |

My full grown 5lb girl will go twice on a pee pad. I usually just flush away to poo and it is not an issue. Maybe check with the breeder to see what they use. She may have been used to the smells where she came from and is not finding them now. Dogs are all about odors when it comes to peeing.

Zachary's Mom Donating Member | I have 6 toy dogs. All of them use the pads but Twinkie and Gizmo will go outside too. I have the pads that are 36" wide and use 3 of them (in the bedroom on tile) to start. Then during the day, I will pick up poop when it is contributed and if the pad is soaked, I will either change it out with another pad or cover the wet spot depending on how wet it is. Had a dog in the hospital a couple of weeks ago from eating peepee pads. AVOID AT ALL THE COSTS THE ONES WITH THE "FLUFF FILLING"!! It is nothing but loose fiber and VERY EASILY CONSUMED!! We have resuable washable pads just sitting here till the disposable ones are gone and the ones with the loose filling are stored away in case we have to evacuate this year because of a hurricaine. The QUILTED PADS are what I would recommend you and everybody use since they aren't so easily torn up and eaten. Louise in Houston |

Don't let her out of your sight. She is in a strange place and needs boundries just like any puppy. You can either tether her to you and keep at your side every second or get and exercise pen to confine her. Personally, I think an exercise pen is a good idea for small amounts of time but they don't really learn alot about house training buy being confined all the time. If you see her start to look like she is going to pee put her on the pad and stay there with her talking to her in a low but happy voice. When she does go in the right place give her a treat and highly praise her. I doubt that the pervious owners gave her free run of the house. She was probably confined to a small area. |
