Donating YT 4000 Club Member | with 5 little ones, I too use washable pads, I have done that for years now, the gang mostly goes out to the yard a couple of times a day but a day like yesterday that was raining ALL day, they go in the enclosed porch in pee pads. i do change the pads every day when the dogs use them, I also have a genie hamper that i keep the pads for a day if necessary without odors. and i wash them with detergent and a full cap of white vinegar and never had a problem with lingering smells. hugs, |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | a hamper that is used for baby diapers, it seals closed and it keeps the odors inside. I wash wee wee pads every other day when I use them, specially when I have little puppies, and the hamper works wonderfully. I bought mine at a garage sale, and I love it.. hugs, |

| [QUOTE=romeos mommy;620941]i know this may sound really gross, but when romeo poops i pick it up and throw it in the toilet. then he continues to poop in the same spot for days. it like insurance he won't poop on the carpet. it doesn't smell because i get it within minutes. once he pees a few times i toss them in the trash. awe.. life as a yorkie mom. [/QUOTE) I do this too. I pick it up right away and it doesn't leave a mess or a smell cause the girls eat dry food. No different from clearing up after they go outdoors.

| Just throwing my 2 cents in I've used both washable pads and disposable ones. The washable pads I found through a discount home health store, north shore care. I purchased the ones used for an adult bed. Mine came in a great plaid color! Now I buy the adult bed pads in bulk at Sams or Costco! Super cheap! |

| I think it's good with new puppies especially to leave the pee pads down for several days so that they will keep going back to the scent of where they went before. I use washable pee pads and I change them sometimes daily and sometimes every couple of days if they haven't used them much. At this time of year they go outside more than using the pads but I change them more in the winter. |
