| Let's all agree to disagree YT is made up of an amazing group of people. Thanks for the chance to even argue about our dogs...I can't imagine having this conversation with my non YT friends...Sorry about the tone of my last post...I didn't mean it to be as abrasive as it appears If we were actually talking about this you would all know that I am not in the least bit upset..But it sort of looks like it in my posts...so I'm sorry

| I don't believe for a minute that a business would be closed down or even fined for someone having brought a dog into their business. That is something that is completely out of their control. Show me news reports where this has happened, but I truly think you all are grasping at straws to try to make us that don't agree with you look irresponsible. Good grief! Enough of this hogwash! I've got better things to do...Maddie and I need to go to Walmart! If you should hear on the news tonight about Walmart in Minot, ND being shut down, you will know who was the cause of it!

You act liek my mil lives with us,My mother in law does'nt live with me!!!! Me and my husband and children own our own home and they own there own. She does'nt have dogs because of her allergy, we don't take our dogs there and are very careful on washing hands etc. I would'nt have them if they lived with us, but then again I would never let ANYONE live in my home, so I would'nt haveto worry about that! | |

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | My daughter and I just drove 1 hour to go to the mall, and we took Kloey with us, she loves to ride in the van when we go places, I see no problem with this, when were in the store, she sleeps in her carrier, then when we get back in the vav she gets right back on my lap, as I drive, she lays or sits right by the window and looks out, she does not wiggle around, she simply just sits there. We also went into petco and I got to take her in, she loves it! As for Stewiesmom, it sounds to me that your dog is anti social, I'm not sure if that is good or bad, I guess to me I would rather have Kloey be social, a anti social dog is more prone to bite someone then a more social dog, When I take Kloey to the pet store and there are little girls there, they just go nuts over her, and Kloey loves the attention! Alot of times I have to be the one to pull her away or they will pet her for who knows how long. And I don't ever sneak her in any where, I take her in places and if they don't want her in there, then I leave. In my opinion a Yorkie is a show dog, they are cute and thats why we have them. Don't we all want some sort of attention? |

| I wish my MIL was allergic...I'd have 50 dogs running around my house to keep her out. I really don't care what anyone else does with thiers....meaning it doesn't affect me so I just don't have an opinion one way or the other about it...just about what I do. Trixie really isn't too fond of riding in the car, so it's not really a problem. Even if she loved it, I probably wouldn't take her with me. A 5 yr old and a dog to worry about in Wal-Mart with the crazies...enough to drive me insane. Another reason is, if I had her with me, I wouldn't be shocked for someone to want to come up and pet her...I mean, I brought her in, why wouldn't they and why would I have a good excuse to tell them no? Because I don't know where they've been and what germs they may have? Well then why would I have her out in the first place? Because she may bite someone? Why would I takle a dog that may bite around people? Just doesn't make sense to me. Others see differently and that's their business. Do I really want to be eating, putting food in my mouth with someone's dog at the next table staring at me? No. Not because I don't like dogs, but I don't know where THEIR dog has been, what it may have, etc. (But, I guess that could be said for other people too...right?) I don't PERSONALLY know anyone who has dog allergies, but my husband has extreme cat allergies...to the point of needing injections if around them. The strays around here have been known to sleep on our porch chair, him sit in it, and be in the ER an hour later. I guess it is feasible for some to react the same w/ dogs? My general rule of thumb is just that if I have to wonder, "Hmm...is anybody going to care if I take Trixie in here...?" I just don't take her. If there is the remote possibility that it is "against the rules" or "offending others," I just have no desire to intentionally do that. Just me though.... |

| I for one, would not have a problem if all dogs were allowed anywhere, provided of course that they were well behaved. That being said, I think it is the attitude I hear a lot about little dogs being children, or whatever that gives them the reputation of being spoiled, etc. I have German Shepherds, and just got my little Lucy a few months ago. My kids had a fit! Why on earth would I want a spoiled little yapper? Well, she was not spoiled when I got her. She sure is now, and she can be a yapper, but I still love her. |

Trace gets to go to the petstores, that's it. He goes to work with me every day, perhaps if he spent huge amounts of time alone, I'd feel differently.

| Yorkie Talk now has two threads on this subject. It shows that us Yorkie owners are very passionate about this subject. It seems however that there are some posts that can lean towards the "offensive" side and we need to remember to think as we post. Keep it clean, keep it on topic, keep it non offensive.... We are lucky to have a diverse group with whom each share their opinions and each of which needs to be respected. I personally "sneak" Ransom. So be it. I for one do not feel I need to justify why, how, when, or why. It is my choice. It has never not once invaded on anybody's business.

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | We do take the girls places with us....they LOVE to go!!! We DON'T take them into food places or near food if we have go into Target real quick.....the girls love to be with us and we love for them to go with us!! Everyone has their opinion on this, and we do get comments on why are there dogs in the store? but we just ignore them and move on....there are some people who like them and some that don't and we don't hold that against anyone!! The girls CAN stay at home but we CHOOSE to take them with us!!

| Oops, hit post before I intended too. I did also want to say that I see people at the craft fairs I do with their little dogs in their carriers or hanging from the packs and they do not look happy to be there at all. I think they would all rather be snoozing in their comfy soft little beds. Sure they are well behaved, but what choice do they have? I used to take Griff, my big German Shepherd to work sometimes. I worked in an office at a trucking company and he liked to be there and get all the love when the guys came in. Plus, I did feel safer. The owner had three little Maltese that were obnoxious and a royal pain. But of course they could do no wrong, and were allowed to run around and well, you can imagine. Luckily she was not there often. Griff would lie quietly behind my chair and never cause a problem. I guess my point is that big dogs do not poo and all that everywhere they go. And little dogs can be just as much a problem. I think it is really not the dogs at all, it is the owner. I also used to take Griff with me to my sons BMX practices. He was always on a leach and under control. We did it for protection more then anything else because the track was not in a great part of town. I also ran the practice so I kinda made the rules. Now, I had no problem when others brought their dogs as long as they were on a leach and well behaved. But there would be people that would bring a little dog and let it run all over. If it got on the track it could a cause major wreck and kids could get hurt and it could get killed. Once a gal brought a little chi to the track and it barked and snapped at Griff. He ignored it for the longest time, then just turned and looked at it. No bark, no snarl, no growl. The gal snatched up her "baby" and acted like its life had been threatened. Why? Yes, Griff could have snapped up that little monster like it was nothing, but he didn't. HE has been trained not too. Plus he actually loves little animals. Any kind. I guess it all boils down to manners. If your dog has manners, and can behave, then it should be allowed wherever, but if it has to be stuffed in a carrier or on the end of a huge chain to control it, then it should be left at home. |
