Donating YT 30K Club Member | That's so sad! I let Cali sleep with me when she was just about 5 months old. But I have a queen size bed and my dear hubby sleeps in another room. I still put pillows all around the bed each night and she pretty much sleep next to me. I also am an extremely light sleeper. But it definately is good to warn everyone.

| I am so terribly sorry! I have a granddaughter that age & I know how devistated she would be ... especially knowing that she had been cautioned! My heart breaks for her! How is your daughter's baby? Keep up the good work giving advise/tips! You never know when they are paying attention .... at least that's how mine were! We too have a home near Birmingham .... Anniston [E. Central AL]! We don't get down there but a few times a year.

| What a tragedy for a youngster to have to go through. I'm so sorry for their loss. That would be a hard lesson to learn. I don't think I want to take Missy's life in my hands like that. I'll contend with her sleeping in her crate next to the bed. That's close enough & all of us will get a good nights sleep.

| I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm sure the 16 year old girl is devistated. I'm a really light sleeper but none of my puppies ever slept with me until they were over 4 months old. And it's not because I thought I might smoother them but because I wanted them to have better bladder control before I let them on my bed. |

| I totally agree. We made Gizmo sleep in his crate until he was almost 6 months old, it was just two risky. Even now at 8 months old, he is only 3 pounds, and he always tries to go under the covers to sleep. I can't sleep unless I know that he is safe up by my face. With one arm around him. y husband thinks there is nothing wrong with him sleeping under all the covers. But he is also the one who could sleep through an atomic bomb going off! I just think it's better to be safe than sorry later. Bless that poor little baby. And the girl who probably feels terrible now!

| My Gracie has never slept in bed with me at night, she is almost 2 years old. She has always slept in a playpen right by my bed. I tried 2 x's to let her sleep with me and she thought it was an invitation to play, after 2 hours I was ready for sleep so I put her in her Pen and she want right to sleep. I won't even let my 8 month old daughter sleep with me, I have always been scared that I will roll over on them or they will fall out of the bed. I would never forgive myself if something happened to them. Gracie does nap with me on the couch and when I was pregant, she slept on my big belly !!! |
