I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm sure the 16 year old girl is devistated.
I'm a really light sleeper but none of my puppies ever slept with me until they were over 4 months old. And it's not because I thought I might smoother them but because I wanted them to have better bladder control before I let them on my bed.
