It's okay to be who you are; if you're not ready to have the kind of relationships w/ your neighbors that others describe -that's cool! That's your prerogative. I honestly think that with time, maybe your confidence will continue to grow, making it a bit easier each time you have to interact with neighbors or whoever. My only thought/hope for you is that you *don't* shut down more - that instead, you let yourself trust a few people and allow yourself to continue to open up like you are here - I think it's great / positive.

Besides poison ivy, it could be poison sumac or wild parsnip. The other possibility is that you have an allergy to a specific plant that most other people aren't allergic to. The only way to know for sure would be to see a doctor. If you launder your clothes on hot or warm with laundry detergent, that will get rid of the poison ivy oils without contaminating anything else. I would avoid walking in the plants with suede shoes until you're sure there's no poison ivy where you're walking. It would be harder to clean leather. (You'd have to consult a dry cleaner.)

Maybe it's just me being over glazing it a bit but everytime we go out and on the road we have to deal with poor drivers, and people texting and driving.... I've been friends with people who text and drive and they say they can do it great and that if you can't text and drive properly that you're a "retard"-- at that point I stopped being friends with them. Honestly, I have not had much good experiences here. I've been fine in other places like in georgia, and such... where people are much nicer, laid back, etc. Anywho, other than this, I am hoping that moving into this more rural area we can gain and keep more peace and quiet. I assume it might not be all of NJ that's bad and it's more of the suburban and city areas.

| Years ago I had a crazy old bat as a neighbor- I was around 11. My dog was a barker, and she called the city. The made us debark him. It was Sad; I will never forget it. We have a neighbor that WAS harassing Chewie. I finally had it after her colon dx last week, and called on him. I haven't seen him much lately. Between that, and the shnuazer/yorkie mix that is her best friend- she's a huge huge barker of any child or dog that walks by. The children make her happy, the dogs upset her to the point where she's actually gagged from b eing physically stressed. We've had to call to ask the trainer after this newest training round to do some one on one. While we wait, we are trying positive reinforcement along with distraction techniques. It's actually working. These guys are so super bright, you'd be surprised at how much they understand. She'll now plant herself in front of me if husband is gone and only bark a lot at that point, so just stick this out, and keep at it. |
