Years ago I had a crazy old bat as a neighbor- I was around 11. My dog was a barker, and she called the city. The made us debark him. It was Sad; I will never forget it. We have a neighbor that WAS harassing Chewie. I finally had it after her colon dx last week, and called on him. I haven't seen him much lately. Between that, and the shnuazer/yorkie mix that is her best friend- she's a huge huge barker of any child or dog that walks by. The children make her happy, the dogs upset her to the point where she's actually gagged from b eing physically stressed. We've had to call to ask the trainer after this newest training round to do some one on one. While we wait, we are trying positive reinforcement along with distraction techniques. It's actually working. These guys are so super bright, you'd be surprised at how much they understand. She'll now plant herself in front of me if husband is gone and only bark a lot at that point, so just stick this out, and keep at it.
